Sactown Royalty Random speculation is fun. Why stop with Brad?

Ok, we all know the possibilities out there for Miller and we've all heard the same teams mentioned (Miami, Chicago, Charlotte, etc.).  We've sliced up every scenario imaginable and argued the fine points of Marion, Wallace, and cap space.  It's an interesting discussion and one worth having.

However, as many of you have noted, nobody is untouchable on a team this bad.  This must mean that there should at least be the potential for a mutually beneficial trade with pretty much every team in the league, right?  Believe it or not, everyone has some need, major or minor, that we could help them fill while gaining some benefit for ourselves.  Remember, sometimes the small deals have big payoffs down the road.  Superstars are important but so are good role players.  Cap space is important, draft picks are important, upside is important, and to get those things we should consider every possibility.

In that spirit, I'd like to start a series of posts assessing the needs of every team in the NBA so that we can consider what, if any, mutually beneficial trades could happen.  Bit players, waterboys, K-Mart, everyone is game here.  Let's start with 5 teams: New Orleans, Golden State, Indiana, Toronto, and Utah.  BTW, I'm not an expert by any stretch, so don't take my proposals to be anything more than conversation starters.

New Orleans:

Needs: Frontcourt depth

Kings have: Moore, Williams

Potential trade: Moore for Julian Wright and a second rounder

Benefits: Wright is a young, athletic three with upside.  Excellent rebounder.  Doesn't help the Hornets now because he is stuck behind Peja and Posey.  New Orleans is desperate for help up front.

Golden State:

Needs: A new coach, a real point guard, a solid swingman, Monta Ellis to come back

Wants: To get rid of Anthony Randolph

Kings have: Beno, Salmons, Greene

Potential trade: Salmons or Beno/Greene for Randolph and Turiaf

Benefits: Salary dump and Randolph, whose upside is just ridiculous.  Oh yeah, it's a risk, but my god imagine if it pays off.  Have you seen this guy when he's on his game?

Indiana:

Needs: Power up front, rebounding, defense, three point shooting

Kings have: Miller, Williams, Moore, Douby, Garcia, Martin, Salmons, Thompson, Hawes

Potential trades: Miller for Nesterovic, Moore and Douby for Daniels

Benefits: Simple Miller trade for an extra year of cap space, very slight upgrade for Indy.  The second trade doesn't seem all that likely.  Martin for Granger, anyone?

Toronto:

Needs: Wings!

Kings have: Salmons, Garcia, Martin, Douby, Jackson

Potential trades: Miller, Salmons, K9 (Woof!) for O'Neal and Moon, or Miller and Salmons for O'Neil and a first rounder.  Otherwise Toronto's got nothing we want.

Benefits: clear $20mil plus from the books and get a pick.  Could be packaged with the Houston pick to get something nice or move up in the draft.

Utah:

Needs: Frontcourt depth

Kings have: Moore and Williams

Potential trades: Utah's not gonna give up Koufos for 4th options, sorry.  Fesenko and change for Moore seems reasonable, he's a great rebounder who could turn out to be a nice backup to Spencer someday.

See that?  Only five teams down and already there are some intriguing possibilities.  Now, flame away!  I'll be back in 24 hours.
