MMAmania.com UFC on FUEL 3 Free Pool Results.

Ufc-on-fuel-3_medium

Apparently we should not post our scores on mania during events. Cos the Money poolers don't care. Who gives a fuck what they care about, post away. Mania is not just for the 28 who pay $20 to play. Funny how a certain someone recommends new players to join the free pool first anyway. Besides, some of the money poolers do care, well 2 of them do anyway!

What the hell was up with Playground today ffs. Will just get straight to the results.

Firstly here a quick re-cap of the nights fights.

Main Event:

145 lbs.: Chan Sung Jung def. Dustin Poirier via submission (D'Arce choke) at 1:10 of round four

Main Card (FUEL TV):

170 lbs.: Amir Sadollah def. Jorge Lopez via split decision
155 lbs.: Donald Cerrone def. Jeremy Stephens via unanimous decision
135 lbs.: Yves Jabouin def. Jeff Hougland via unanimous decision
205 lbs.: Igor Pokrajac def. Fabio Maldonado via unanimous decision
185 lbs.: Tom Lawlor def. Jason MacDonald via knockout at 0:50 of round one

"Prelims" Card (Facebook):

185 lbs.: Brad Tavares def. Dongi Yang via unanimous decision
155 lbs.: Cody McKenzie def. Marcus LeVesseur via submission (guillotine) at 3:05 of round one
170 lbs.: T.J. Grant def. Carlo Prater via unanimous decision
155 lbs.: Rafael Dos Anjos def. Kamal Shalorus via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:20 of round one
135 lbs.: Johnny Eduardo def Jeff Curran via unanimous decision
135 lbs.: Francisco Rivera def. Alex Soto via unanimous decision

Here are the top 3

In reverse order coming in third is:

Images_medium_medium_medium_medium_medium

Grimreapers

Making it into the top 3 is Grimreapers, with 8/12 picks corrects for 74 points. Scoring 0 points in the hot bout but getting 5 perfect picks including 2 bonus points, secured a second consecutive top 3 finish. Maybe he does have skills.

Runner-up spot for tonight goes to:

Arianny-celeste_medium_medium_medium_medium

Thorazine_

Also scoring 8/12, to score77 points, Thorazine_ did so by having only 4 perfect picks. However, one of those perfects was a 22 pointer for the hot-bout. That's a nice 30 point improvement from the previous event.

And finally, in 1st place and winner of the 2nd event is:

Ufc-140_brittney-palmer-333x550_medium_medium_medium

karpentero

The camp leader takes this event down with 89 points which also matched the money pools highest score. Karpentero achieved this by scoring on 10/12 fights with 4 perfects picks and crucially scoring the full 22 points in the hot- bout. Congratulations bitch!

None of the top 3 had scored any points from the night main event.

Shit Pickers!

Its not PotOfGold this week, cos he actually turned up for this event.

We have a tie for the 2 worst pickers for event 2, and both and achieved it in very different ways.

IrishKev

IrishKev actually reminded me to make my picks. Thanks for that, but you should have worried more about your. own. Scoring a pretty lame 29 points by only scoring with 5/12 picks with 0 perfect and 0 on the hot bout.

letstalkmma

Let's not talk mma. For reasons only known to himself, he decided to only pick 4 fights. Shame really as this gave 3/4 correct and giving him 2 perfect scores. Ultimately it resulted in joint last with 29 points.

Hot-Bout

A massive 68% scored nothing on the Hot-Bout.

2 of the top 3 scored maximum points on it. Says it all really.

MMAmania.com FREE-POOL RESULTS.UFC ON FOX 3. Miller V Diaz. We got 2 in the top 6 of PG!!!

    Ufconfox3_medium

The new season has finally arrived.

Okay, it was only 2 weeks, but that's long enough. Last season the scores were quite competetive with some respectable scoring against the moneypool scores, so lets keep it up ffs. There is no defending champ this season, as MrGrapplefan decided to fuck off and try his luck in the Moneypool. Well, good luck to him. So now we search for a new champ, who can then decide to fuck off and try their luck next season elsewhere.

UFC on Fox had a line-up that had excitement written all over it. And despite the fact that 50% of all the fights tonight went to decision, it most certainly did not disappoint. The biggest disappointment tonight definitely was the crowd. Lavar Johnson, Puhlease, they were not ''Awesome' FFS. It has to be said, they let New Jersey down.

Speaking of disappointment, Nick Denis, shit the fuckin bed bad style. Seriously, I believe that there should have been more t/ko finishes. If you have a fighter rocked, please don't stand there and admire your handy work. Maybe it's just me, but I believe there could have been a minimum of 2 more t/ko's tonight.

Oh, and Paul Harris, that's what you call a motha fuckin reality check!

Despite his loss, Miller is nowhere near to bein a gate-keeper. Yes, someone actually mentioned that. Doubts destroyed, Diaz is fuckin legit! No doubt now he is a future champ.

Firstly, a rundown of tonight's results:

    Main Event:

155 lbs.: Nate Diaz defeats Jim Miller via Submission (Power Guillotine) Round 2

    Main Card (FOX):

170 lbs.: Johny Hendricks defeats Josh Koscheck via Split Decision
185 lbs.: Alan Belcher defeats Rousimar Palhares via TKO (Strikes) Round 1
265 lbs.: Lavar Johnson defeats Pat Barry via TKO (Strikes) Round 1

    Preliminary Card (FUEL TV):

155 lbs.: Michael Johnson def. Anthony Ferguson via unanimous decision
125 lbs.: John Dodson def. Tim Elliott via unanimous decision
170 lbs.: John Hathaway def. Pascal Krauss via unanimous decision
125 lbs.: Louis Gaudinot def. John Lineker via submission (guillotine) at 4:54 of round two
155 lbs.: Danny Castillo def. John Cholish via unanimous decision
145 lbs.: Dennis Bermudez def. Pablo Garza via unanimous decision

    Preliminary Card (Facebook):

135 lbs.: Roland Delorme def. Nick Denis via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:59 of round one
185 lbs.: Karlos Vemola def. Mike Massenzio via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:07 of round two

Introducing some new members of the Freepool:

    • Thorazine_

Cocky, confident and a cheat? Whatever, he's here to give us all a lesson. Oh, look at meee, I come from the moneypool and I'm reservin 1st place. We shall see!

    • Aussie

A fuckin lurker, will read this and say nothin. Mind you, Agar was also a lurker...

    • Scott1

    Fuck you too!

    • Grimreapers

This man has got ''skills'' and is Phase's pick to win. Enough said.

    • IrishKev

One of three Paddy's here. Finishes bottom half!

    • wolfman13

Claims to be a dick and will finish top 5. Most probably is a dick and will finish, umm, 14th

There will probably be a couple of more or some more to join us soon enough. Anyway, enough of this bullshit, time to get down to the all important results.

    Here are the top 3

In reverse order comin in third is:

    Images_medium_medium_medium_medium

    Raymondo

Scoring 65 points with 8/12 correct picks including 3 perfect. Despite not scoring any Bonus points, Raymondo just closed out the top 3 by just two points. Raymondo mentioned to me, '' I didn't know half of the fighters tonight''. Well,he's cracked to three for the 1st time ever. Congrats.

First runner-up of the season goes to:

    Arianny-celeste_medium_medium_medium

    Grimreapers

Scoring a very impressive 91 points 10/12 picks right including 5 perfect picks. With that he also takes 4 bonus points for correctly picking the two underdogs.

Much respect for that score, which also puts you 6th overall on Playground. Damn Good Job!

And finally, in 1st place and winner of the first event is:

    Ufc-140_brittney-palmer-333x550_medium_medium

    ThePeoplesChamp

Scoring 93 points with a very impressive 10 picks right including a crazy 5 perfect picks. Included with that was14 points in the hot bout and an impressive 4 points Bonus tally with two correct underdog picks.

    Deja vu much!

As the only person to score 14 on the Hot-bout, it secured top spot!

With that impressive pickin form, he is now also in the top 3 of all of playground, joint 3rd. Much much respect!

1st and 2nd almost exactly the same, freaky or what? You two have done the Free pool proud. money poolers, how many ye got in the top 10 overall on Playground????

    Shit Picker!

And the Shit Picker award for tonights event goes to the pitiful

    PotOfGold.

With only 3 picks correct, he scored a miserable 19 points. Pot of shit more like ffs.

    Hot-Bout

The hot bout tonight just so happened to be the main event. For those who don't know, the Hot-bout doubles your score. Scoring on the hot-bout can make the difference from 1st place or 5th, scoring a poor 40, or a respectable 62, it's that important. Here is how the Hot points were spread for the night:

    20120506052914_medium

No perfect hot bouts tonight, but the only person to hit 14 points, hit top spot tonight!!

Well, the wait is over and Sweden have just kick-started an epic marathon of UFC events which may just put all those WWE/Brock posts on the back-burner for a while!!

MMAmania.com MMA Mania Free Pool Results: (UPDATED) "Alves vs. Kampmann"

First off, I am absolutely pissed drunk and it's about 4am here so don't expect anything special. Just be glad us free-poolers don' have to wait til next week to comment, bitch, complain or brag, so here fkn goes!

UFC from Sydney Australia is in the books!

    Ufc-australia_display_image_display_image_medium

Last weekend, UFC was, BIG in Japan. This weekend however, it just turned up in Australia. Sorry Oz, I can see a trend here already, and I cannot see it changing anytime soon, so ye better get used to havin 'small' cards. In saying that, these type of events usually come up trumps against many ppv events for exciting quality fights. Tonight was no exception. As with Japan's card, upsets were also on the agenda.

This event almost really had everything,

    • Slick submissions.
    • Plenty of Tko's.
    • End to end stand up wars.
    • Upsets.
    • Controversy.
    • Snatching victory from jaws of defeat.
    • Historic bouts.
    • Raucous crowd.
    • A heavyweight somersault ffs.
    • A result bein awarded wrongly.

Lots of love for Herb Dean by the Aussie crowd!

    A quick results recap:

170 lbs.: Martin Kampmann def. Thiago Alves via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:12 of round 3

    Main card (FX Channel):

125 lbs.: Joseph Benavidez def. Yasuhiro Urushitani via TKO at 0:11 of round 2
125 lbs.: Demetrious Johnson def. Ian McCall via split decision
185 lbs.: Constantinos Philippou def. Court McGee via unanimous decision

    "Prelims" card (FUEL TV):

205 lbs.: James Te Huna def. Aaron Rosa via TKO at 2:02 of round 1
205 lbs.: Anthony Perosh def. Nick Penner via TKO at 4:59 of round 1
145 lbs.: Steven Siler def. Cole Miller via unanimous decision
185 lbs.: Andrew Craig def. Kyle Noke via unanimous decision
170 lbs.: T.J. Waldburger def. Jake Hecht via submission (armbar) at 0:55 of round 1
145 lbs.: Daniel Pineda def. Mackens Semerzier via submisison (triangle armbar) at 2:05 of round 1

    "Prelims" card (Facebook):

265 lbs.: Shawn Jordan def. Oli Thompson via TKO at 3:53 of round 2

The main event was some great match making by Joe Silva. It was a very hard fight to call, and it just so happened to be the Hot Bout pick also. So close to call it was in fact split 50/50 between us. However, it wasn't as close as we figured, yet ended in dramatic fashion.

    Speaking of close....

The top 2 in our free pool were separated by only 1 point, here is the event's top 3:

    Ufc-140_brittney-palmer-333x550_medium

    In 1st place with 65 points...............Karpentero.

Karpentero scores with 8/11 correct picks with Waldburger and the Te Huna his 2 perfect bouts. This moves him from 9th overall to 6th back in contention for a possible top 3 finish.

    Arianny-celeste_medium

    In 2nd place with 64 points..........Letstalkmma.

Letstalkmma scores with 7/10 correct picks with 3 perfect picks. One of these perfect picks was an inspired underdog pick for Andrew Craig rewarded with 2 bonus points.

    Images_medium

    In 3rd place with 55 points.......tr8k.

tr8k scores with 6/10 correct picks with 3 perfect scores with Te Huna,Shawn Jordan and only the 2nd person to score perfect with Andrew Craig.

    Special mentions:

Prokk27, as he was the only person to pick Steven Siler earning a very nice 9 points for that.

And the salad at the barbeque is CDSmid who picked just 2/10 scoring a very paltry 12 points.

MMAmania.com SportsPro Magazine includes Anderson Silva on list of 'World’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes'

    Silva-presser_medium

And since Silva is the only mixed martial artist to make the list, that puts him ahead of combat sports' other marketing magnets like UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.

Athletes are ranked "according to their marketing potential over a three-year period" and the list "comprises the 50 athletes deemed by SportsPro to offer value for marketing money if signed today to a long-term global endorsement deal."

"The Spider," who currently holds the UFC middleweight title and hasn't lost in 13 fights under the Zuffa banner, crawled in at number 40.

    Here's why, according to SportsProMedia.com:

MMAmania.com Haters. Who ya gonna hate?

We all have our favourite fighters, the fighters we like and the fighters we dont mind. But who are the fighters you hate and why?

I myself hate Rashad Evans. I know hate is such a strong word, so I guess I just mean I really cant stand the sight of him and everything about him annoys me to such an extent I feel hate. I travelled over four thousand miles to see him fight one of my favourite fighters Chuck Liddell, and we all know how that went. But what really made me hate him was his little heart attack dance celebration while Chuck was still out cold and being seeing to by medics. So I'm asking you maniacs who do you hate and why?

I would do a poll but I'm pretty sure Micheal Bisping would actually win this by a country mile. So I will leave you to choose a fighter and leave an explanation, be it a true story or for some funny random reason. Brocks got a lot of haters too, as does Tito. Anyone here hate the Micheal Schumacher and Man Utds of the sport, the dominant GSP and Anderson Silva. What about the Diaz brothers,Fitch,Mir and the like of the legends who just don't know when to quit. Which fighters talk the talk yet never back it up? Who gets hate for cheating or winning controversially? Any fighter always letting you down and costing you sig bets or actual money?

Why let the hate just be for the fighters. Why not throw some hate towards Dana. Is his ego getting as big as his waistline? What about the commentators. Goldberg, he's got the single most annoying smile. Rogan is actually quite ignorant to fans. Sick of the sight of Chantelle? Pissed off with whoever designs the lame posters. Hate the fact Pride is dead. Hate M1 Global? Hate Shamrock's key to victory?

Why not hate away!  The gloves are off, but keep it clean.
