Russo confirms that Butch will be suspended for two games.

Honestly, I don't see how they got to this ruling. I know they had other angles of the video, but it still baffles me.

He'll be back in time to play the Oilers on the 13th.

Around the 1:30-1:35 mark of the video, you can see Calvert clearly lift PMB's stick into his own face. Absolutely no reason for Bouchard to get suspended when Calvert self-inflicted his own injury. Hoping the league gets it right.

Justin Morneau to have two surgeries tomorrow.

One surgery is on his right foot that is a "clean up" surgery. The other surgery is on his left knee to get rid of a cyst.

This is the first I've heard of either injury. It's too bad, since he can't catch a break injury-wise.

I think it's a pretty fair review of TF except for the dislikes, which were pretty weak in my opinion. Do you agree?

Favorite piece of hockey memorabilia

Today I was cleaning my room and closet and found some of my Wild memorabilia that I hadn't seen in a while.

It got me thinking about what my favorite piece of hockey memorabilia is.

I never played hockey when I was younger, much less learned to ice skate. (I know, I know, how can I live in Minnesota and not learn how to ice skate? To be honest I couldn't tell ya.) So I wouldn't have any collectables.

Most of my memorabilia is of the Wild (thanks to my dad for working at the X, getting me all of it, and for introducing me to some of the players so I could get their autographs), but I also have one piece from Mike Modano.

I would have to say my two favorites (I can't choose just one) are my autographed puck from Guillaume Latendresse since he is one of my favorite players, and my autographed puck from Mike Modano because he is Mike Modano.. enough said.

What is your most prized hockey, NHL, and/or Wild collectable? What's the story behind it (if there is one)?

NHLPA is going to file a grievance against the Lightning because of an injury to former Wild player Stephane Veilleux. It's truly an unfortunate situation for Veilleux. He's a good guy.

Josh Harding's future

While browsing through articles on the Bleacher Report, I came across this article about the Wild (the second half of the article is about the Timberwolves). Wild GM Chuck Fletcher has already had a conversation with Josh Harding about his future in Minnesota.

As expected, Harding will likely be moved this offseason. Harding told Fletcher that he would like to be traded somewhere where he has a chance to be a starting goaltender, which Harding deserves.

So who exactly may be interested in Harding?

Teams that could be searching for a goaltender this offseason are Chicago, Washington, and Philadelphia.

What should the Wild try to get in return for Josh?

Obviously the Wild is in dire need of offense. They need to acquire guys who are willing to shoot the puck. There are plenty of passers on this team but other than Guillaume Latendresse, there are no real guys willing to shoot the puck. Maybe Fletcher could try and acquire a guy like Kris Versteeg or James van Riesmdyk. In order to acquire a player like Versteeg or van Riemsdyk, Fletch may have to package another player or prospect along with Harding to complete the deal.

Update 5/9: After doing a little more research on teams with a need for goaltending (it was about 11PM last night when I wrote this post and I was pretty tired), I also discovered St. Louis and maybe even Edmonton (if Khabibulin doesn't recover/rebound from surgery) may search for a new goaltender.

Hamhuis could go to Wild?

This is my first fanpost/fanshot on HW so take it easy on me ;)

According to ESPN insider rumor central (I don't have the subscription so I can't read the whole article), the Wild may sign Dan Hamhuis as an unrestricted free agent. That's pretty interesting since we don't have any spots open on defense and have a bunch of d-men prospects in Houston. The only way I see the Wild signing Hamhuis (barring a trade), is if Hnidy is not resigned and Nate Prosser ends up starting the season in Houston.

Hamhuis had 5 goals and 19 assists for 24 points this season for Nashville. He has never scored more than 7 goals in a season and his career high in points is 38. He is pretty durable and can stay on the ice. In his career he has played an average of 80.5 games a season.

If the Wild do indeed sign Hamhuis as a FA, who do you think will be traded or let go? Would you want Hamhuis to be a member of the Minnesota Wild?

Ah April Fools Day. A day full of good natured jokes and pranks. I was not only pranked today, but it was a Minnesota Twins joke.

Here's a little backround information you need to know about me for this story to make sense:

-I am an 18 year old college student living at home with my mom.

-I work at the YMCA in their drop off child care center.

-Joe Mauer is one of my favorite Twins players.

Now that you know that important information, onto the joke.

So at about 6:45 PM I got home from a long day at work. I go into my mom's bedroom and this is our conversation:

Me *walking in with a tired look on my face*

Mom: What's wrong?

Me: Well, today I got peed on, pooped on, drooled on, and sneezed on (read above to understand this part).

Mom *laughs*

Mom: So I guess you didn't hear the news.

Me: What news?

Mom: Joe Mauer got into a car accident today and broke his arm. He will be out for at least half the season.

Me: Are you kidding me?!

Mom: Yeah April Fools!!!

Needless to say, I completely forgot it was April Fools day. I didn't have any pranks/jokes pulled on me all day besides this one. I have to give my mom though. It was totally believable.

FYI: This is my first FanPost/Fanshot on Twinkie Town so bare with me.

With Opening Day less than one week away, Twins fans are feeling the excitement surrounding this ball club.

With that in mind, MLB experts have been weighing in on predictions for this season. Buster Olney of ESPN posted a video with the top 5 best lineups in baseball. Obviously, these are offensive lineups which don't include pitching. Olney says the Twins have the best lineup in all of baseball ahead of the two teams in the World Series last year, the Phillies and Yankees.
