Yes I've heard the bullshit reasoning for Blackhawks games airing on WGN.  As a Blackhawks fan and a "young hockey player" (Edzo's target demographic) watching from CA I'm quickly getting fed up with having to watch weekend games described to me by what seems to increasingly be homeristic incompetence. 

I'm sure Pat and Eddy while favorites of mine are not eeeeeeeeeeeeeeemeediately appreciated by opposing fans when they talk over odd man rushes and great saves in favor of analyzing the advantages of beef stroganoff  or Duncan Keith making up for a mistake with an active stick (3 Edzoisms!) 

Anyway, tonight I watched the Hawks try to lose to the Thrashers and was remarkably annoyed by Daren Eliot and his partner whose name isn't worth my time to look up.  With the Blackhawks on a late man advantage (slash on Brouwer) Daren suggested that the refs even it up... didn't see the reasoning for that.

I don't really have time nor desire to relive all of the annoying announcer moments, but since the Blackhawks and sports broadcasting are passions of mine I figured I'd spark a little debate over awful announcing from the other side.  I should note there really are a lot of good announcers out there possibly more in hockey than other major professional sports.  Believe it or not I actually like Mickey Redmond and Ken Daniels on SCUM's telecast Larry Murphy isn't bad either yes I know I'm a joke of a Hawks fan for admitting that.

Again, I know I'm biased towards Pat and Eddy or Stevie Blue Eyes but humor me and have at it!

A Couple of My Personal Least Favorites (Regional Sports Networks)

1. Bob Errey- Pittsburgh. Thank god we don't see him more often.  I watched NYR-PIT the other night on NHLN and this guy calls the play by play guy Paul Steigerwald "Staggy" so fucking much.  Further he went on and on about Malkin and Crosby to a point that makes homerism seem mild.  I remember when the Blackhawks won in the Igloo earlier this season he was awful as well.

T1. Daryl Reaugh- Dallas.  It doesn't help that the stars have 5 out of a possible 6 points from the Hawks this year.  But this guy kills me.  He's just awful.  Look I'm not a big Huet fan myself and he played this dump-in horribly but what a douche to be nice.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii-08G6C6wI

So most of you probably read this column merely because you're looking to soak up every piece of Blackhawks coverage even if it's something as ridiculous as Rosenblog etc.  Well this certainly falls into that category.

"Everyone suspects the Canucks will put a hurt on the Hawks Saturday."  That's a direct quote from this piece of "journalism."  Does anyone on this blog or on Nucks Misconduct for that matter suspect a hurt from the Canucks.  Now bear in mind I have a lot of respect from the Canucks and expect to see them for 6 or 7 games this spring.  And yes I do remember the whooping they put on the road weary Hawks last Feb.  However, so far this season the only hurt the Canucks have put on the Hawks was Willie Mitchell on our boy Captain Marvel.  Otherwise, my memory recounts a close loss at the UC and a 1-0 Bickell lead win at GM Place last Flames, Nucks, Oil trip. 

Now that my rant is done I kind of realize that idiots like Kiley saying things as I've posted above is a good problem for a team to have.  I think basically people writing about the Hawks have gotten tired of writing the generic Chicago dominated in all facets recap and have begun to search for problems with the team (Roenick on the radio, Rosenblog all the time etc.)  Have at it.
