Has been traded from Colorado to Tampa Bay and then Tampa Bay to Detroit as confirmed by Bob McKenzie. The Wings have traded our 2012 first round pick as well as Sebastien Piche to Tampa Bay.

You may remember Kyle from a few seasons back. He was originally drafted by the Wings in 03 and played a handful of times over 2+ seasons on the Wings.

does anyone here go to them?  i know ive seen intrptrvlr (sp) there back when basketball was on. Joe had taken a hiatus for most of the summer but has started them back up.  There is one tomorrow at 10 am.  It can suck trying to do them while at work but i find it worthwhile.   Joe is a great source of knowledge for all things MSU sports related.  Hes also pretty entertaining.  Anyways, i highly suggest people go to them, if not to ask questions then to at least read the post chat write up.

As has been mentioned on twitter and both scout and rivals.  Aaron Burbridge has committed to MSU. huge get for obvious reason.  But another kid committed to MSU today as well.  Jermaine Edmondson out of canton mckinley high school.  hes a three star cb, with offers from MSU, Nebraska and Purdue among others.  ESPN ranks Edmondson as a 77 overall (Burbridge is a 79 for comparison) Edmondson is listed better 5-11 and 6-1, 160-170 with a 4.43 40.  with decent offers sound like a solid kid and should enjoy playing with current/future teammate Se'vonn Pittman.   

Has signed or has been offered to sign with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent, (this is when twitter is helpful because searching this stuff is annoying).  Great news for him and in my opinion a great get for the Broncos.  He looks to be a great compliment to Brandon Lloyd and Jabaar Gaffney.  He also has a similar size to those two, who happen to be the two oldest/most expereinced of the Bronco recievers.

looks like hes up to 270+ and will play DT for us.  According to 247sports he did not want to play on the offensive line, which is where vandy put him.  Also, he had built a good relationship with Narduzzi and was going to sign with us but chose Vandy....Prior to committing to Vanderbilt he had played in the Under Armour all American game.  James will have three years of eligibility after sitting out this year.   Sounds like a solid add on.

MacGarrett Kings is the newest commit for MSU.  He is a 3 star on every site ive seen.  He listed as a WR/RB i gotta assume hes going to MSU to play WR, considering previous recruits comments.  Looks to be about 6 feet tall and has some speed/elusiveness and a nack for the endzone (31 tds).  Lead his high school team to the state championship game.  Had offers from WVU, Wisconsin, FSU among others (and depending on what site you look at). 

Could Monty Madaris round out our receiver class with this commit?   Would appear to be a solid haul of receivers for WRU.  Maybe we can land burbridge too!

MSU just picked up a 4-star recruit out of Canton, OH today. 

Se'von is ranked #11 on Scout, #8 on rivals (61st overall), #14 on espn (101 overall).

Rivals shows offers from UM, OSU, 'Bama, Auburn among others.  Its safe to say this is a great get for MSU.  Defensive End seems to be a position we recruict exceptionally well.

He has to get bigger and stronger, which will help him against the run, but he's a pure pass rusher. well this makes 10 for UM and 6, 4 stars.  id have to say that at this point. unless we start slamming 5 stars um's class is going to be 100% better than ours and ours might be one of the worst in the last decade.  not really sure what dantonio and co but its obviously not  recruiting.    i guess a previous post of mine was correct in saying we should fear mattison.  this is brutal. 

so after joe boisture leaving the team, we were left with a slightly thin future QB corps.  His decision ultimately made a lot of sense because he would have only started his senior year.

As it turns out, Joe is retiriging from football after advice from a spine doctor.  Though he will remain enrolled at MSU.  Here is his official press release. after the jump!

im highly surprised this hasnt been metioned once on this blog.  comon blogo peeps.  well apparently there is this major recruiting violation that has happened in the college football world.  and a major news publication is going to blow the lid off it soon.  this has been all over other sports nation blogs and colin cowherd has talked about it on his radio show.  as recently as today.

im not sure how i feel about this.  the dude chokes a lot.  but it would be a good back up while ozzie is out.   has to clear waivers, so not sure that will happen.   no idea what contracts hes looking at.  ozzie is back in march so the cap space would be fine until then, not sure what happens after that though..

what are your thoughts?   i need three more words for 75.

greg mattison was hired as the new dc for um.  i cant say this is a good thing.  he is, at worst ,described as one of the best reruiters of all time. 

as much as it makes sense to hire within for our offensive coordinator position.  it sure would  be nice to bring in a guy that has had as much impact at both the college and pro level.   if we ever want to truly ditch this little brother label that would help.   (and please, dont resond by simply stating how long its been since theyve beat us)

im in a fantasy basketball league and have Jason Richardson on my team.  this was the most recent player note for him

"Jan 18 G Jason Richardson told the Orlando Sentinel recently that he grew up in Saginaw, Mich. wanting to be a professional hockey player. "That was my favorite sport, and I loved being out there," he said."

at 6-6 225, he would be the largest player on the redwings, more or less.  What kind of player do you see him being?   with his athleticism, i think of someone with franzen's skill set but the speed of helm, thatd be pretty lethal.

so i had a few thoughts on the season opener.  i would like some feed back, espcailly for the first thing i noticed.

1:  Roe,  he was awesome on defense imo, shuffles feet well, and towards the end he had a bricked shot in the lane but then ripped the board and put it back, very explosive looking.  However, i noticed, and maybe im the only one, he was yelling at sherman almost the entire game.  yelling at him to pass it, yelling at him to take the ball out on a bucket yelling at him to be more assertive.  That seemed weird to me.  someone go back and watch when they are on the floor together.

2: Sherman, he never jumps.  its frustrating.  he is really good at post defense though, shuffles feet and keeps a hand up.  but i dont think he jumped once during the game.

3: that bowdry guy was amazing.(shouldnt summers be guarding someone like him more?  i mean, summers isnt gonna have smaller people in the NBA.  better show what you got now)

4:  it Payne learns to jump less, hes gonna be a beast on defense.  he was hussling for boards. i loved it.

5: Summers,  his three point stroke looks pure.  that was probably the best thing to see in the game. if he does that.  and rebounds like he has in past.  o man. look out.

thats about all for now.  im looking forward to maui to see how we stack up this early in the season.   also, this is early but im 100% confident we will beat duke.
