All of the other Angel's FA's are still listed. Cot's is usually pretty good about keeping information current. Weird that Lackey is not present on that page.

As I was sitting on the 55 N onramp at 17th one morning several weeks ago, I saw this personalized plate on the car in front of me:

ANJLSFN

Got me to wondering if it was possibly someone who reads or posts on Halos Heaven (or another Angels fan site), and if not, was wondering if any of you had personalized plates dedicated to the Halos (or a favorite player on the team) to share.

Speier released

From Lyle Spencer's Blog:

Justin Speier, the Angels' veteran right-handed reliever, has been handed his unconditional release to make room on the 25-man roster for Trevor Bell, the 22-year-old right-hander who makes his Major League debut on Wednesday against the Rays.

Speier still had 1 year left (after 09, in which he made $4.75 mm) and was due $5.25 mm in 2010. Not sure I believe this quote from Ninja:

"It probably caught him off guard," Angels general manager Tony Reagins said.

Justin had to see this coming considering his performance in 08-09.

Tim at MLBTR has posted his predictions for the top 50 FAs. He's go the Angels signing Tex, Randy Johnson, and GA to FA deals, and the Mets picking up K-Rod. These aren't wild predictions, and for the ones that the media is shooting down (K-Rod), Tim's got some valid logic behind his picks.

As much as I used to despise that big ugly dude when he was up north, curious what the thoughts around here are on RJ wearing a halo to pick up his career 300th.

Farm system switch up

Was wondering if someone could explain the farm system switchup that occurred around 2000.

Previous to the switch, the Angels farm teams were something like:

A - Elsinore, CA

AA - Bend, OR

AAA - Midland, TX

I'm probably not remembering all of the levels or the cities accurately, but obviously all of our farm teams are now in different cities. I didn't used to pay much attention to the farm system, so I didn't really catch what happened... Did all organizations move their teams around? or was it just us? and why?

Thanks!

Top 10 Angels Moments of 2008

Phys and Hud had this list up on the screen tonight during the bottom of the 4th or top of the fifth. I missed most of it but was hoping someone caught it and could post it in the comments?

it went something like:

Angels Welcome Torri Hunter

Torii's Walk Off Grand Slam

Texeira slams Yankees

Aybar...

Yada Yada

If someone can post it, i'm curious how everyone felt about it, i.e., if it really did capture the best moments, and if not, what it lacked (what you thought were the best moments so far).
