The Phinsider Effective immediately, Jeff Ireland will assume full control over all decisions in regard to the Miami Dolphins.

JUST RELEASED STATEMENT FROM THE MIAMI DOLPHINS:

Effective immediately, Jeff Ireland will assume full control over all aspects and decisions in regard to the Miami Dolphins football team and support staff. This was the intent of the structure put in place in the past. Bill Parcells will remain with the club on a daily consultant basis.

What does this mean? is this good, is it bad? I don't know what to think.

We all knew this was coming sooner or later, but I thought it would've been later rather than sooner.

Talking Chop I need your help

Everyone needs to pray that the weather gets better in Jupiter today as I took off work and have great seats for the Braves/Marlins game this afternoon. Anyone know who is scheduled to pitch? I know Gondee usually posts it in the game thread but I'm way to excited to wait. Anyone else going to the game today? All I want to do is drink a few beers in the sun while watching the 2010 NL East Champs stomp the fish.

Talking Chop Bullpen usage

So we all know about the terrible collapse yesterday. It pretty much ruined my day.

Then, after I got out of class, I'm listening to The Brian Kenny Show on ESPN radio and I got angrier.

Talking Chop Braves/Mets - 3/22

I'm going to the Braves game in Port St. Lucie vs the Mets on Sunday and my buddy told me Johan is pitching. Anyone know who is slated to pitch for the Braves on Sunday?

I was thinking maybe Javier Vasquez since his team was just eliminated from the WBC (USA! USA! USA!), or maybe even Glavine.

Also, does anyone know if Chipper plans to make the trip south for the game vs the Mets?

The Phinsider FA CB's and such

Well, I have come to the conclusion that our biggest need is a CB, whether it be through the draft or free agency. The draft probably won't offer much help in the CB department because the talent just isn't there and its rare that a rookie CB steps in and has an immediate impact.

This leads us to Free Agency. Below is a list of some FA corners that are still available with some thoughts.

Talking Chop Spring Training Tix

So..... I just purchased tix to 2 games, Friday the 13th in Jupiter vs. the Marlins, and Sunday March 22nd in St. Lucie vs. the Mets.

I cant wait! I'm lookin at the schedule now to see when they play the Fish so I can take those days off of work and go to all the games.

Anyone else going to spring training games? We should pound beers for every time Frenchy touches a bag. Who's in?

The Phinsider Just got some tix

So, I just purchased 2 tickets for a home playoff game at Dolphin stadium and I have to say, it was a sweet sweet thing to be able to do.

There are plenty of tickets still left on Ticketmaster, StubHub and eBay.

Everyone needs to be there to support our boys!

This is by far the most memorable Dolphin season ever. Theres just something about this year's team. I love it.

LET'S GO FINS!

Talking Chop Braves wish list/FA consideration list

The Braves have a considerable amount of money to spend this off season.

Roughly 45 mil on the books between Hudson, Chipper, Soriano, McCann, and Smoltz.

6 players are up for Arbitration: Francouer, Kotchman, Kelly Johnson, Mike Gonzalez, Omar Infante, and Matt Diaz.

I'd really like Chipper to stay around at least for another 3 or 4 years. But, to do so, I think he needs to move to first base. This would move Yunel to 3rd (he has the arm) and then we could sign a FA to man short until one of the kids (Lillibridge or Hicks) is ready.

I'd also like them to pursue trading Kelly Johnson. He's been solid but we already have a #2 hitter in Esocbar. The Braves need a clear cut leadoff hitter with some speed (Furcal?) to get on base for Chipper, McCann, and the other power bat we acquire through a trade or free agency (Ludwick or Dunn?).

Francouer. Francouer Francouer Francouer. Where do I start? I would be okay with the Braves holding onto him as long as he works with Terry Pendleton every day and loses that 20 lbs of muscle he put on last year. If thats not the case, ship him to KC because they love him and that's where we would get the most value. Maybe we could snake Greinke from them in the deal.

On to the FA's.....
