Posting and Toasting Imagine a season without stats...

One of the things I love about P&T and Knicks fans in general is how people actually watch the game and can form their own opinions. We can say stuff like "Duhon does nothing with the ball" or "Roger Mason is not a 3 point specialist."

But does the constant barrage of new wave statistics of recent years cloud our judgement at times? I feel like stats fill the comments and spar heated debates, but youtube now exists and sometimes our eyes are the best judgement. Sorry blind people, I love you guys though.

Take the shump for some statements that I feel like I can make, that statistics can't. And then let's hear what you got...

Posting and Toasting Raymond Duhon

Raymond Felton is playing like Chris Duhon.  I know its just preseason, I'm not concerned until we have a  good look, but that doesn't mean we still don't need to be honest about what we see.  We made Felton a co-captain.  He has played some ok D, but nowhere near the D that DWTTD do.

My main concern is this: the pick and roll.  We have run numerous pick and rolls throughout preseason, but I'm pretty sure I have only seen ONE of those passes go from Felton to Stoudemire.  It was yesterday and Stoudemire missed a contested layup.  Felton always kicks it out off the pick and roll, going nowhere.  He;s more concerned with dribbling the ball right now than completing a pick and roll to Stoudemire.  Losing Duhon and Harrington was major addition by subtraction, I hope we didn't just bring one of them back...

Posting and Toasting cat out the bag?

Believe me I realize rampant rumors have been going around, and they won't stop until LBJ signs.  But these are players tweeting about Bron coming to the Knicks.  What does Ochocinco or Jared Dudley have to gain by hinting that Lebron has decided on NY?  Bosh, Wade and Bron spoke last night and then the next day Wade and Bosh commit to Miami, and Bron goes on to speak with Amare and Carmelo??  I feel good about all the signs and little clues that have emerged in the last 24 hours...

Posting and Toasting Brooklyn screening of Knicks doc Wednesday 3/10

Just figured some people here might want to check this out if you live in the NY area.  At BAM in Brooklyn Wednesday 3/10, there is a screening of the documentary Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks at 7pm.  And afterwards is a Q & A with the director Dan Klores, moderated by Peter Vescey.  This makes it kind of interesting to me, considering his reportedly ranting drunken speech at the Hall of Fame induction this year.  But also because I could argue with anyone about this rivalry.  But even more, its been a long time since we've watched people in Knicks uniforms bringing respect to the game of basketball, so maybe its worth checking out for some other people too.

Inexplicably, this is scheduled during the Knicks vs. Spurs game on Wednesday night.  But pain is pain, I'll probably be watching the Knicks in 60 that night...Here is the info for the event:

Posting and Toasting LeBron's partner

I'm sick of the draft.  After last night's reverse Craig Ehlo, all I've been thinking about is 2010.  Who will we choose to go alongside this man?  Let's face it, if LeBron leaves Cleveland he is coming to NY.  It's basically written.  Once he delivers Cleveland a title, it will be easy for him to leave.  Let's just hope he doesn't win it BOTH years, because as the man said, he's going wherever is his best chance for "multiple championships."

So now that we have enough money for him, we know its about who we get to go alongside him.  And I'm scared at what I hear.

1. Chris Bosh -- This dude is NOT on the level of LeBron, Wade, Stoudemire, CP, Kobe...why is his name always the first one mentioned?  He's been on Toronto his whole career, and they just seem to be getting worse.  Last thing we need is a high paid big man that is soft down low.

2. Amare Stoudemire --  Previously Amare was the only acceptable option to me as the second free agent, but since I have lightened up.  FIrst of all he's gone from Phoenix.  We need a big that plays like a beast down low, and he was with D'Antoni during their best years, and he can shoot.  Between Amare and Bosh this is a no brainer.  But Amare may not even be the best option to go with LeBronzo.

3. Dwyane Wade -- First this requires a moment of silence.  Just envision D Wade coming in with LeBron, and then we can talk about why it can happen...OK.  We can skip the pics of Yankee hats at Cleveland Indians games, we can skip when LeBron comes to NY and says the Yankess should get CC Sabathia and the Yankees go out and do that weeks later...LeBron and Wade have said publicly that they want to play together at some point during their careers.  They said this during USA basketball, where Coach D'Antoni was helping guide them to the best ball of their careers.  If they were ever to that then 2010 is the time and New York is the place.  Both Wade and LeBron will have titles by 2010 for their cities.  I just think it will take  signing LeBron first to NY, and then D Wade would jump on board, because he does like Miami.  But this is history we're talking about.

This 10 years of suffering we Knicks fans have endured, with one last year to trudge through, would be erased by 10 years of probably 80 win seasons.  We just need to get rid of Curry and Jeffries contracts, and I say do whatever it takes short of giving up Nate or Lee.  Thats my best case scenario anyway.  But the last thing I will say is, its probably more delusional to think the Knicks will keep both Nate and Lee than it is to envision LeBron and Wade running at MSG for years.  Let's just stop talking about Bosh please...Am I wrong here?
