Stampede Blue Jared Dewalt, OG Toledo

The Colts have conducted interviews and watched tape with Toledo's Dewalt; they recently spent about two hours doing this with him.  He has the size that the COlts seem to want on the O-line.  He played on a truly awful team, but has thus far garnered interest from the Chargers, the Jags, and the Colts.  The Jags have apparently told him that if he falls out of hte draft they will immediately make him an offer.  He is expected to go in the 5th or 6th round.

Stampede Blue Bethea drawing interest from Washington, Dallas, NY Jets, and others

Well, this ain't good.  I wouldn't mind Washington's first rounder, but I certainly don't want to see Bethea go anywhere.  Can you imagine how good the Jets pass defense would be if Bethea played for them? I guess it would be fun to watch Bethea make life hell for Brady twice a year, but I'd rather see him do it once a year in Colts blue.

Stampede Blue Greg Williams and Saints D: Injure Manning

Well, this is enlightening.  I'm sure the Jets and others had a similar plan (or simliar aspirations), but mouthing off about this before the Super Bowl is purely idiotic.  Here's hoping this stuff finds its way to a billboard in the COlts locker room and Mathis and Freeney knock the shit out of Brees all day.

And yeah, I know it's PFT, but the Williams quotes are clear enough.

Stampede Blue 18 t0 88's take

Deshawn Zombie's take on "Painter-gate" is one of the few rational things written about this whole affair.  I think he's right: the Colts don't and never did give a shit about a perfect season and it kind of works as a big f**k you to the 72 Dolphins (who will hopefully fade from football memory sooner rather than later).

Stampede Blue Patriots Quit, Colts Don't

Okay.  I'm accustomed to the Patriots doing unconventional things after all of these years (video cameras, "star" QBs lying on the ground and slapping the turf until a ref throws a flag, 4th and 2, etc.), but they f**King GAVE UP WITH 5 AND A HALF MINUTES LEFT!!!  They pulled Brady and the starters.  The Colts would never concede; they would never believe they were out.

The Pats are supposed to be an explosive, prolific offense.  You don't give up.  What an awful team and what a disgraceful turn in this franchise's history.  Take away the video cameras and.......

Stampede Blue Titans Game Next Week

Well damn.  I haven't watched much of the reborn Titans, but they looked quite good in the Cards game.  Young is indeed a much different  quarterback (I am still waiting for him to implode though); Chris Johnson is still CJ; the defense looks tough and Finnegan is still a scrappy little prick.

Next week's game will be much tougher than probably any Titans vs. Colts match in recent memory.  The Titans have a lot of confidence and, truth be told, the Colts don't have anything on the line in this one.  All that said, I really REALLY don't want the Titans to be the team that hands us our first loss.

Any thoughts on next week's game?

Stampede Blue Tyjuan Hagler Done For Season

Oehser's reporting that Hagler tore a bicep and will be done for the season.  Is this a repeat of the injury he had previously?  At any rate, Wheeler takes over the spot and, according to Caldwell, Humber will also compete.  LB Cody Glenn comes up from the practice squad.

This is definitely a hit; Hagler was playing very well.  That said, many of us have been clamoring to see Wheeler and we've all been excited about his potential.  Now it's time for the youngster to show up and start knocking out some Texans.

Stampede Blue Ryan Diem Hurt and Ugoh at RT

Phil B. is reporting that Diem went out today with what appears to be a back injury (soreness, spasms, or something?).  While it doesn't seem "serious" it is an injury that could "linger."  Lingering injuries seem pretty damn serious to me: see Marvin Harrison 2007.  Maybe we have a year of "he'll be back next week" reports on Diem.  The guy is on his last legs; it was only a matter of time.  Now we have the unsightly offensive line situation with t-rex armed CJ on the left and Tony Ugoh flipping his entire training and trying to man the right side of the line.  Great.  Maybe Marlin and Reggie can swithc positions too and just complete the sideshow.

Hopefully the O-line situation gets itself worked out very soon and whatever unit emerges will get significant camp and pre-season reps together and get some sense of cohesion before opening day.

Stampede Blue Linebackers?

With a 35-3 score it is probably hard to say that anyone on the team didn't step up, but I'm wondering how the linebackers played (I missed the damn game!).  How did Buster Davis look?  I know Benson looked like a real running back, which is disturbing.

Damn it's good to have K. Hayden back in the line up.

Stampede Blue Marlin Jackson Done for the Season

DAMMIT!

Adam Schefter is reporting that Marlin tore his ACL among other things in Wednesday's practice.  He's done for the year and will obviously need surgery.  This is awful for Marlin and truly not good for the team.

Again, DAMN!

Stampede Blue vincent young just wins games

which is an awesome thing ot say about your qb if he actually wins. young was a great college quarterback. however, the nfl is not college football.  the guy sucks; his throws are terrible, his decisions are piss poor, and his reach constantly exceeds his grasp. if he would humble himself a bit and perhaps allow someone to develop him from the ground up (which is what it will take..he's on chris redman level), perhaps he'll make a decent starter or a reliable backup one day.  it is now time to quiet the  debates about how great he is. he sucked tonight. despite playing a san diego team taht routinely under-performs, he couldn't muster enough points to put them away.  san diego is not that great of a team.  the debate about vince young needs to be silenced until he can prove he actually is worth discussing.  now, can we please get on with the real afc south contenders? had houston not been injnured so much, i think they would have given san diego a real run for their money in the playoffs (unlike these music city disasters).

Stampede Blue L.T. on the New England Patriot Acts Surveillance Equipment

yeah, i'm renaming the pats. but anyway, go here:

http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8023a94b

first it's l.t., then gates, and then they ask l.t. about his thoughts on the reports regarding the pats' spying on the jets.  i'll just give you this quote and then go watch it yourself:

"the patriots live by the sayin' if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'."

AMAZING!

i believe some of bellicheck's mistresses might agree.

Stampede Blue ESPN: Officially Stupid

it's not just easterbrook.  have a look at the espn.com homepage.  pan down to the bottom right hand corner for the daily poll.  it reads:

"will vince young improve or regress this year?

Yes:

or

No:"

umm, that's not really a yes or no question.  did vince young write that question? i wonder how vince would have answered it.

Stampede Blue Colts have no running game

so says shannon sharpe. from nfl.com:

"Can Indianapolis remain unbeaten? I don't know if the Colts will or won't go undefeated, but they are beatable for sure. Peyton is a great quarterback but the Colts have no running game."

has this yutz watched any indy game besides the new england game? more than that, has he seen all of his other media morons ranking joseph addai, (that would be a running back for the indianapolis colts, shannon), right behing maroney for best rookie running back?  there has been nothing but praise for addai.  did he miss those long runs by dom this weekend?  people say dumb things about the colts but this tops it all.
