Football commitment #3
Guard Nick Brigham, of Atlanta, Georgia, committed to the Terps today. He is the 3rd commitment and 2 O-Lineman in this class. Vandy and Georgia Tech were also in on him. He is 6'3" and 275 pounds. Looks like the coaching staff is really putting an emphasis on recruiting the offensive and defensive lines.

Draft Scenarios
Hey guys. I want to see how the posters here would choose to build a team. It's pretty simple: You are the GM of a new expansion team in the future. Due to several bad hires that led to arrests, the team does not have any coaches going into the draft, thus you don't need to draft according to a scheme. You have 3 picks in the first round that will decide your fate as a franchise. The owner has come out and told you that he wants you to draft a QB, an OT, and either an MLB or a CB. If you do not draft those positions, you will be fired.

Mocking the Draft scouts Torrey Smith
Mocking Dan over at SB Nation's NFL Draft blog scouted Torrey Smith. He ultimately said this about Torrey:
Final word: Smith has been one of the top risers in 2010. Everyone has always known he's a great return man. But now he's developing into a good wide receiver. He'll finish his career as Maryland's career leader in all-purpose yards.
As much as Smith has developed, he has plenty of work to do to be more than the next Darrius Heyward-Bey. Namely, Smith will have to start catching the ball more away from his frame. It seems like Smith makes a lot of catches with his arms and not his fingertips. While he's done a better job on his routes in 2010, he doesn't run an especially complex route tree.
Smith may never be a true No. 1 receiver on an NFL team. What he will be as a good No. 2 and a standout special teams performer.
I'd recommend taking a look if you have some time.
Faust has Top 5
TheRecruitScoop tweeted that Nick Faust has narrowed down to a Top 5. Of course, we are in it. The others are Marquette, FSU, Oregon State, and Villanova. If all of this holding out is just supposed to be a formality as some people on this site believe, then what is the point of making a Top 5?

ESPN on Maryland Recruiting
ESPN's Jamie Newberg has written an article about Maryland's recruiting this year. He says that their new recruiting approach comes down to need and speed. I agree with the speed part, as it seems that the team is becoming smaller and faster. Interestingly, Newberg doesn't list Cyrus Kouandijo as one of the prospects that Maryland is recruiting, but he does predict that this class will be one of the best of Friedgen's tenure as coach.

Scout posts Maryland football preview
Scout has posted their Maryland football preview. I haven't had the chance to read it yet because I wanted to post it on here first.
http://www.scout.com/2/980303.html - Overview
http://cfn.scout.com/2/980301.html - Offense
http://cfn.scout.com/2/980299.html - Defense
http://cfn.scout.com/2/980298.html - Depth Chart
Interesting thing on the Depth Chart. The O-Line is Justin Gilbert at LT, Andrew Gonnella at LG, Pinegar at C, Bennett Fulper at RG, and R.J. Dill at RT.
Notre Dame offers Connor Wujciak
Hopefully this doesn't matter to him. On ESPN, we aren't in his top 5, but on Scout he has Medium interest in Maryland.
Two New Commitments
I was on ESPN today and I looked at the College Football Recruiting section. It said Maryland received commitments from OL Evan Mulrooney from Salesianum School (Wilmington, Del.) and DB Jeremiah Hendy of Bowie, MD.
Here's the link: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/school?schoolId=120&page=briefingroom&season=2010&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncf%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fschool%3fschoolId%3d120%26page%3dbriefingroom%26season%3d2010
We have 11 commitments now.
Maryland Day
Hey guys,
Just got back from Maryland Day. Sadly I couldn't stay for the Spring Game. I did get the autographs of the entire football team though, so that was a plus. When I was in line for the Secondary and Linebackers' autographs, Travis Hughes, brother of current Terp Trenton Hughes, was standing behind me. He seemed pretty familiar with the team. I also saw Connor Wujciak, too. That's pretty good news to me.
Joe Haden
Hey guys. I wasn't really paying attention to College Football until 2 years ago. Today, I saw Joe Haden, arguably the #1 CB in the Draft, was from Maryland. So my question is why didn't we recruit him? Rivals had him as a 4 star athlete and said he could be either a WR or CB. He doesn't have Maryland listed in his College Choices. Were we set at WR and CB so we didn't go after him? It's a shame that we missed out on such a great talent.
