Completely agree in that Barton potentially fills a serious soft spot that we've had for a couple years...

Barton changes the equation for us this season. With him we are inside the Bubble and the potential for beyond. Without him realistically we are a strong contender NIT team.

Maybe not Wizard status just yet but there are encouraging signs (Layman and Dez's recruitments in particular) If we can get Barton and nail a 2014 class with an impressive big and Wiley than we should be well on our way.

Under the table gifts like $30,000 to purchase $100,000 piece of jewelry? Agree we definitely need the depth there and it seems like this recruitment is a good fit at a number of different levels.

We're essentially trying to shore up two voids, first the PG void that we mainly have Roddy and Seth delegated for and we absolutely could use Barton too fortify things, and second the Len/Padgett exodus that we are adding Dodd but could use another.

Obviously would love to have Goodluck and Reed, or even Abu and Reed, but perhaps more realistically it would end up being Reed with Obi, Geben, or Onuaku if we go for two bigs.

I could go either or with the extra big or not; depending on the extra big that we could get. We've been challenged at PG for a while now and there is something attractive about having even one more extra option there with Campbell.

The advantages of getting both would be we would get both the added PG depth and a proven scorer (our offense struggled at times- remember Carolina games where they had a bunch of scorers and we got overwhelmed).

And considering this season coming up both Seth and Roddy have have had injuries or need for surgery at various points which underscore our need for added depth.

I think at this late stage in the game Carter could actually be one of the main cogs to go along with the rest of our guys that help get us back in the tournament, why else would he have Donovan and Turgeon courting him like he does?

If we lose out on Carter I think we'd have Wiley's spot all the more open for him, but even with Carter if he gets eligibility he would be a senior by the time Tremble and Wiley (potentially) would be coming in.
