If we somehow would of had Len back and Seth not getting injured early on we'd all be singing quite a different tune... Next season with Cekovsky and Reed getting on board it should it finally be a season where we got all the pieces!

They quite possibly would have had an easier road to become "stars" at Maryland maybe only time will tell, my hope is that we get the same type of reputation for always putting bigs into the league as UK does for guards.

NBA draft contract deal info from Yahoo answers and hoopsworld.
Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 17 2014, 1:03a
Also they got Andrew Harrison at #30 and Aaron Harrison at #40. I actually hope they stick around so there'd be a chance we could could go up against them in March if we have a good season and end up playing them somehow.

Is it that everybody who gets drafted is guaranteed at least a one year contract? or do some of the 2nd round guys not make a team and miss the contract and have to go oversees? or do D league?
Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 17 2014, 12:50a
Even one lottery pick, one mid first round, and one late first round would be awesome further cementing what happens when skilled big men come to Maryland.
Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 17 2014, 12:47a
Looking at NBA mock draft I found it interesting they had McAdoo from UNC going as the 49th pick, not sure what his odds our to make a team, does everybody drafted usually make a team or is there a general cut-off where guys usually end up in D league?
Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 17 2014, 12:41a - 1 reply
I was thinking something like the league of shadows or something like that? With all three having NBA potential and Big PaPa potentially coming in a year later it's definitely feasible especially if Big PaPa really like Maryland.

That would be a unique buzz for the program that's for sure. It's always cool to see 7 footers on the floor especially when seeing the games in person they are Goliaths for sure.

I always thought ESPN tended to rate the players a little more conservatively than Rivals could be wrong. Awesome that they're seeing the potential in Big Papa hopefully we got a good shot for him especialy with Alex Len trajectory being relatively fresh

Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 14 2014, 5:40p - 1 reply
We have a serious Melo Seth combination on deck and we essentially need a combo guard. If either Roddy or Nick would have stayed we would have been fine.

+1 towards... Being Sensitive to the Classes and THE TYPE OF PLAYER we can bring in! ...glad you made this post for this reason.
Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 13 2014, 8:53p
Dez and Varum will have to be good enough to go to if we can't snag somebody, Roddy would have been perfect guess we'll see if the recruiting gods show us any favor.
Commented on My, How Quickly Things Change on Apr 13 2014, 8:22p
Another option would be a double transfer (2 years worth)... KC Ross Miller as the backup/co point guard for next season than plan on snagging another transfer in 2015 to help keep us covered until 2016.

Commented on KC Ross Miller - Possible Transfer on Apr 10 2014, 2:11a
What would you guess the odds are that we pick up another guard? I'm sure we are looking but it does have to be a good fit. I'd be surprised if we don't add a capable guard of some sort due to the risk of injury at that position that's been brought up.
Commented on Whose Loss Will Hurt the Most? on Apr 10 2014, 12:58a - 1 reply
Nicely laid out the only problem is we don't really have a backup combo guard who will rest Melo and Allen...will this be Ram? Wiley? or Dez? that's where Peters would have been perfect...
Commented on Whose Loss Will Hurt the Most? on Apr 9 2014, 7:08p - 1 reply
I wonder if Turgeon was tipping his hat everything staying pretty much the same ie we're going to roll with who we got we just don't seem to have any news on anybody that'd be a good fit maybe it's too early but it feels like what you see is what you get!

Awesome news Mr. Graham you are back on our list! So glad these kids lives want get legally train wrecked by this any longer so here's to second chances and who knows maybe Graham could be a good fit for what we're looking for.
Commented on Considering the recent transfers on Apr 9 2014, 6:15p
We will definitely miss Nick but we wish him the best! It will be interesting to see if Layman and/or Wiley will be able to pick up some of the slack in Nick's absence.

So assuming Graham keeps his scholarship which he deserves; We're likely to pick up either a backup combo guard (Peters replacement) or a backup wing, or a big (if Reed doesn't qualify/Shaq replacement).

Does anybody know what Gary's contract with the B1G network is? I wasn't even thinking about it in terms of us joining but if Gary's does the games or even a portion of them I think we'd all swallow the move with a little more than a B1G grin on our faces

Post raises a growing sentiment in Terp nation for our in need of a power forward; also spins the wheel of a possible transfer scenario in a diferent direction which although completely speculative is plausible in lieu of the Tyler Lewis times we're in.

Commented on Maryland's Athletic Power Forward Problem on Mar 30 2014, 4:51p - 1 reply
This could be a sober reality we will be facing unless we can develop more solid offensive production we should be okay on defense but we really are somewhat green offensively aside from Chuck having some good instincts around the rim.

Same thing with the Duke example... not enough ability for offensive production from their other Plumlee to warrant giving him significant time...
Commented on Maryland's Athletic Power Forward Problem on Mar 27 2014, 12:53a
There's a balance between "getting your best players on the floor" in effort to maximize how many games you win to get into the tourney and making sure to develop the whole team so less used players can bring it when they get in there.
