About this "Split" Championship...

Maybe im the only one who feels this way, and im trying to figure it out, but....i would in no form, shape, or fashion want to share a championship with the team who is not only our most hated rival, but also a team that we beat by double digits.

I would've been estatic if Texas had blown out Ohio State and I'm pisted that they didnt, however i'll take any win as long as it registers as a win. I am rooting and have been rooting the entire bowl season for OU to get embarassed by the Gators which would destroy our chances for a split championship regardless of what the Horns did on the field. This end of season ranking thing baffles me because...at the end of the year, if you're not #1, it doesnt matter. The rankings will change in the pre-season and Texas will be #2. What I'm saying is.....Hook 'Em Gators, keep your pathetic "we can share it" championship, and we'll see ya'll next year en route to ur 5th National Title!

i honestly think this is a blessing in disguise for the Boys....Roy isnt gonna get better in pass coverage at this point in his career so i'd rather see the younger DB's back there learning on the job.

Damion James an NBA Talent?

I wrote this so that i may attempt to help my fellow BONers relax about D.James a lil bit.

No, theres no link and theres no he say, she say situation, but follow me for a second. Last season, Damion James was practically a nobody to NBA scouts...the only reason they probably ever seen the kid play was because he stepped in front of their view briefly as they watched in awe at Kevin Durant's reign in the Big 12. If this guy had any kind of sense he would remember the vast improvement that he made from his freshman to sophomore year and know how much his chances at not only being drafted higher in the NBA would increase, but also the chance of him leaving college with a championship ring. Im not gonna lie to you, i knew this team was gonna be serious this season because they were all talented freshman last year. Their experience was huge. The only people that are likely to leave the team are the DJ's and i think they will both stay because they both know that regardless of how successful this season's season will be, it'll be better next year with both of them on board and reloaded once again. (oh and with a Dexter Pittman upgrade and no Connor Atchley relapse)

Snead Time??

Recently an article sparked my attention for some reason and led me to immediately think of Jevan Snead.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/s...

No, this article doesnt have anything to do with Snead, considering that he wasnt the guilty party nor was the guilty party ahead of him in the depth chart....i did however look into the Ole Miss site and saw that the three leading passers from last season were no longer on the team. Further navigating on the site led me to believe that Snead may be in the running for the starting QB position, meaning that we can officially see what we may have missed out on. Dont get me wrong, i wont be disappointed that UT chose to stick with Colt McCoy no matter what, but i think you can agree that it'll be interesting if Snead ends up being the next Stafford or Chase Daniels.

2008's (Very) Early Top 25

Mark Schlabach posted an article on ESPN.com analyzing his so called projection of next year's college football season. Honestly, i felt that he hit it(no innuendo)pretty accurately being that UT was ranked #7...take a looksee:

2008 Projected Top 25

#7 behind some teams that are returning enough talent to be pretty dang good next season doesnt upset me at the least bit. Nationally, we're in the top 10 in the polls, we're projected in articles like this at #7, yet we are on the verge of signing the top running back prospect in the country and somebody on the roster is bound to step up and take the responsibility of taking UT back to the top on their own shoulders. Im saving my money to buy a National Championship jacket, next time we win it and im highly confident that'll be soon.

Throw ya Horns.
