The Best Way To Settle All of This
Miami?
Thats right.
Wouldn't that be an epic game? I can see that being the new national championship game of the century. And boy would that bring in the money, and isn't that what the BCS is all about? Sure OU got their shot at us once, and supposedly no voters would vote for a rematch game, but isn't that what all this controversy is about in the first place, Which team is better?
And besides wouldn't this have to happen if:
1. a) Texas beats A&M.
b) Oklahoma beats OSU.
c) Florida is upset by FSU (@FSU).
d) Florida beats Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
e) Texas/Oklahoma wins Big 12 Championship.
or
2. a) Texas beats A&M.
b) Oklahoma beats OSU.
c) Alabama is upset by Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
d) Alabama beats Florida in the SEC Championship Game.
e) Texas/Oklahoma wins Big 12 Championship.
Would this not result in Texas and Oklahoma both being ranked 1 and 2 in the final BCS standings.
I think that it would be great to see this great rivalry taken to the next level with a national championship on the line.
And to beat OU twice in one year would be nice.

GameDay to be on hand for Texas-Texas Tech
ESPN College GameDay is set to cover the Longhorns for the third time in four weeks and the 11th time in its history when No. 1 Texas meets No. 8 Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday. GameDay has also been present for the Longhorns' 45-35 win over No. 1 Oklahoma in Dallas on Oct. 11, and the 56-31 win over No. 11 Missouri in Austin on Oct. 18. This will be GameDay's first-ever trip to Lubbock and the second time it has covered a game in the series. The first came in 2005 when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 10 Texas Tech, 52-17, in Austin. It is also the second time it has covered a true road game for the Longhorns. The other was in 2005 for the first-ever matchup between Texas and Ohio State, when the No. 2 Longhorns defeated the No. 4 Buckeyes, 25-22, in Columbus, Ohio. Overall, Texas is 7-3 with the GameDay crew in attendance. It has visited Austin on five occasions, including the Oct. 18 game against Missouri; the 2005 game against the Red Raiders; 2006 when No. 1 Ohio State defeated No. 2 Texas, 24-7; 2003 when No. 13 Texas defeated No. 16 Kansas State, 24-20; and 1999 when No. 18 Texas upset No. 3 Nebraska, also by the score of 24-20. GameDay has been to Dallas three times, including the Oct. 11 game; 2001 when No. 3 Oklahoma defeated No. 5 Texas, 14-3; and 2002 when No. 2 Oklahoma defeated No. 3 Texas, 35-24. GameDay was also in attendance for the 2005 BCS National Championship Game when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 1 USC, 41-38. This year will mark the 15th consecutive season College GameDay will originate from the site of the day's best game (generally announced the Monday before the game). Chris Fowler hosts the popular Saturday morning news and analysis show with analysts Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.

If anyone from OSU wants to challenge Colt's toughness, they can refer to this video from last years game.
Former UT QB Helps Texas While Playing Somewhere Else
Jevan Snead.
Name sound familiar? Maybe not, because every TD Chiles Colt scores makes it more and more forgotten.
More about his performance at ESPN.com

Too Bad
Sorta a pointless diary but i thought this was just interesting.
Oklahoma almost got a rematch with Boise State. Same teams, different game this time. Just imagine the pressure and possible humiliation of losing to the Broncos twice. But unfortunately (or fortunately) Louisville pulled it out.

Last Year's ESPN Bracket Champion
Last years ESPN Tournament Challenge Champion reveals his picks for this year.
Good news for Texas, his final four:
1Kansas
1North Carolina
2Texas
1UCLA
But he does whip out the UCLA over Texas.
and Kansas over North Carolina.
and then UCLA over Kansas for the Title.

This Week Only: Become OSU Fans
I know everyone has already been discussing all the scenarios that can occur, but I thought this article completely clarified our hopes of advancing to the Big 12 Championship.
It doesn't matter what Texas does against A&M (though a win would be best), as long as OSU can upset Oklahoma, Texas will go to San Antonio to play for the title (against a high quality team in either a 1 loss-Mizzou or a possibly undefeated Kansas)and a chance at an automatic BCS Bowl Birth.

Rice-Texas Recap
Texas played #2 Rice last night in their 2nd out of 3 games of the Houston College Classic. Rice was undefeated before this game while Texas had a losing record of 2-3.
The game was scoreless until the 3rd inning. After the Horns cut down Bobby Bramhall trying to stretch a double into a triple to start the top of the third, the Owls used a hit batter and consecutive base hits from Greg Buchanan and Luna to grab a 1-0 advantage. Responding immediately in the bottom half of the frame, UT received a one-out double inside the right-field line from Clay Van Hook, who moved to third on an ensuing groundout by Nick Peoples and tied the game on a wild pitch. Following a scoreless fourth for both sides, the Horns put runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the fifth via two singles and a sacrifice bunt. Shortstop Chais Fuller then came up with a single through the right side to bring in both runs and give UT a 3-1 lead. While Rice's offense would place at least one runner on between the third and seventh innings, including a two-on, two-out situation in the seventh, Texas starter Kyle McCulloch managed to pitch out of each jam and registered strikeouts to end the fifth, sixth and seventh frames. Kyle McCulloch pitched great, he recorded a Career-High 9 Strikeouts.
In the top of the eighth with two down and McCulloch out of the game, the Owls rallied. Using two singles around a walk, Rice cut the Texas lead to 3-2. A throwing error then let the tying run score before another walk loaded the bases to bring the go-ahead run 90 feet away. At that point, freshman Kyle Walker came on in relief and fanned the first batter he faced on a 3-2 pitch to keep the game knotted at 3-3. After the Horns went in order in the bottom of the eighth, consecutive hit batters with one out in the top of the ninth put the lead run in scoring position for Rice. Following a strikeout, another throwing error allowed the runner from second to score and staked the Owls to a 4-3 lead.
It looked like Texas would lose another heartbreaker, but not tonight. Texas had to add an exciting finish to an already close game. In the bottom of the 9th, Texas received a one-out walk to Suttle, and, following a strikeout, Russell was called on to pinch hit for Van Hook. After taking a called strike, Russell connected on an opposite-field home run to hand the Longhorns a come-from-behind 5-4 victory.
The Longhorns are 2-0 so far in the Houston College Classic. Since starting the season with 3 losses the team has won 3 straight and now has a 3-3 record. The Longhorns look to get back to their winning ways today vs Tulane. I will post a preview of that game later.

I bet nobody else saw this...
This is very random but...
Before our game, I was watching ESPN and looking at the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Oklahoma and Baylor scrolled up and it said Oklahoma 999, Baylor 1 ,1st Half. I knew that was impossible, so I just laughed and remembered the Texas-Baylor Football game this last season. it's funny when ESPN screws up (and they do alot), Scores, Names, RANKINGS...
