Target Field Field Trip
As a resident of Minnesota, I have seen 50+ baseball games, 5+ football games, 2 monster truck rallies, NCAA Basketball tournament, and high school soccer at the old home of the Minnesota Twins. Impressive in its multi-purpose intent(what other venue can boast a Final Four, a Super Bowl, and a World Series on its resume?), the Metrodome was horrid for baseball. Horrid for the fans for both amenities and sight lines, horrid for opposing teams with the horsehide colored roof and jet engine decibel levels, and horrid for the home team in the lack of luxury box revenues and career-shortening turf. Needless to say, the Twins needed a new stadium to remain in Minnesota, and boy is the new stadium a beauty. Not only are they reaping the rewards of Target Field through the Mauer extension, but there is a true sense of excitement amongst a strong and loyal fanbase. A franchise player, a new stadium that earns ravishing praise, and a loyal fanbase. Sounds familiar.
Cardinals BP, 3B Side (via tgreenfield)
Since I don't get to see the Cardinals much outside of going to Milwaukee(see you this weekend!), the exhibition series was truly a blessing. Not only did I get the opportunity to watch Donovan Solano and Oneil Perez, I got to eat food on a stick!
A meager attempt at a travel logue type of fan post after the "jump"
