that is sad... this coming from a man who is having to endure 'sports authority field' rather than the classic and epic 'Mile High Stadium'

Good point, but too many stats, not enough proof on the floor.

Melo playing at the four is a huge benefit, you develop major offense mismatches. But you have to protect Melo on defense which is what NY failed to do

And, btw, I think I will change my name to Colangelo... dude whiffs on his chance yet gets to keep some kind of job in the Toronto organization

That is a good analogy, Tyson is a good, or very good Center; though traditionally shot blocking and rebounds have not been his strong suit

Melo at the four was a stroke of genius, the failing by Woodson and NY was finding a suitable SF to play alongside

To be fair, Pop has won a handful of titles and Rivers has been fired from a team and won a title

It won't work but... heh heh heh!!! I've never been convinced Amare/Melo/Tyson would work. I believe NY made a strategic mistake in building their Big 2 1/2 all in the frontline. But it also never has had a chance.

I do believe one of the best decisions Woodson made was to put little to no expectation on Amare's performance

I do believe the 'bombs away' long range aerial assault was by design from the start of training camp, I believe some utilization of Melo at the 4 was a day 1 plan too

Winning an NBA title is a learning experience. You get good enough to win, then you learn how to win. Teams that have the talent but quit seldom learn how to win, thus are never legitimate threats to win a title
