In defense of Tim Ruskell
In an attempt to figure out why, exactly, 90% of Hawk Nation wants this guy's head, I decided to look back over his now 5 year reign in Seattle as the GM, from 2005-2009 (I believe he was present in 2004 but not yet GM.) I really don't understand why he takes so much heat from Seattle fans, but figuring that every anti-Ruskell Hawk fan couldn't just be insane, I wanted to piece together a real argument. So...here it is.

What is T.J. Houshmandzadeh upset about exactly?
I realize ESPN has a tendency to spin stories in order to create controversy and such, and that may be the case here with the headline of this article, but he still said some stuff and I don't get it.

"I just got to get these coaches to realize, throw me the ball," Houshmandzadeh said Friday, another variation on a public request he's had for weeks.
"Maybe I've said it too much," he said. "I just got to show them now."
I would like to see him a tiny bit more involved, sure, but the guy has 27 catches on the season, even though he spent 2 and a half games playing with a backup at quarterback. Granted some of those catches came in garbage time against Indy, but that's still very solid. And it's not like he inspired confidence with his costly fumble against Chicago. If you factor in the Seneca Wallace element, Housh is probably on pace for a 100 catch, 1200 yard season. Did he really have to say something?
I still like the guy, like the signing of him, and think he brings a lot to this team, but I really wish he hadn't opened his mouth in this situation. If nothing else, understand that you've played half the season with a backup QB.
I dunno, what do you guys think? Am I making too much of this?
Introductory Post from The Joker
Hey guys, I've finally decided to jump into the sbnation blog world and support our Seattle Seahawks. Been a fan since 1996 when I went to four games in the kingdome. We've got a nice community here, I like what I see, and I hope to try and contribute good things in the future. I already make a lot of videos on my youtube channel regarding sports (I think I have over 600 now), so we'll see how much I end up writing, but I think this could be fun.
