quick summary of my tanking interest
Obviously, the best case scenario is that the Pistons lose to the Timberwolves, and everybody else wins.
The following all may play into that happening, tonight.
Abbreviated version:
The Kings are your new favorite team. Their games have the biggest impact on our draft stock.
Long version:
The Kings play the Rockets tonight, and could tie our record with a win.
Rooting interest for tomorrow's games.
The Kings beating the Lakers, who will be sitting Kobe, could have a huge influence on the Pistons draft stock, whether we win or lose our own game. If the Kings win, they move into a tie with us, or past us depending on how they play against Houston. In any case, a Lakers loss solidifies the Magic's homecourt advantage in the final, and the Magic should have no reason to play their starters in their final game against the 76ers. If the 76ers win, the Pistons are guaranteed no worse than the 6th most lottery combinations. Go Kings again.
Obviously, we're cheering for the Wizards against the Pacers.
We should all hope the Thunder beat the Trailblazers, on the slim chance that the blazers decide they don't have enough of a shot at improving their seeding and rest starters against GS, but that doesn't seem likely.
Expectations for Charlie V.
So, I read this article on MLIVE and wanted to see what everyone thought.
Charlie Villanueva is essentially admitting he's a disappointment, and says he has a lot to prove to fans and teammates next year.
My basic question is what do you think Charlie is actually capable of giving us when he's healthy?
I'm not particularly excited about any upside he might have when fully healthy, but I am vaguely hopeful that he'll go back into the post more often. If he reverts back to his career averages in points and rebounds but gets them more efficiently in the post, I'd be relatively happy with that.
One last point, if he's saying he has something to prove to his teammates, does that mean his teammates don't think he's very good right now? Because most of us seem unimpressed, to say the least.

Iverson trade vs. T-Mac trade
Tracy McGrady and his 23 million dollar expiring contract cost the Knicks Larry Hughes, Jared Jeffries, last year's lottery pick Jordan Hill, the right to swap 1st round draft picks in 2011, and their 2012 1st round pick.
Last year, the Pistons received Allen Iverson and his 21 million dollar expiring contract for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess, who we all know later returned to the Pistons.
