Had to laugh... LOL!
Thank You God for Tim Tebow...
Thursday Night was awesome... and it wasn't just that the Broncos beat the Jets. We're a few days away from ThanksGiving, so I thought I would take a few minutes and unload something I am thankful for this season.

Tim Tebow made this little guy cry...
Gotta love it!
Pioneers... or Traditionalists
I watched a great movie last night with my son called "The Pistol". It was the story of "Pistol" Pete Maravich, the legendary basketball star who literally transformed the way basketball was played.
Having been born 1975, I was too young to ever remember seeing him play, but I do remember hearing my Dad talk about him. He would tell me about his dedication and his practice... and would then encourage me to do many of the drills that he did as a boy. I didn't think much about it then, but now, looking back, I realize just how much influence "Pistol" Pete had on the way I played basketball... as well as the way the game is played today. He was an innovator and a pioneer.
What does this have to do with our beloved Broncos? Follow me after the jump.

Denver Plans to give rookie quarterback Tim Tebow his first NFL start Sunday at Oakland in the Black Hole!
Whoo Hoo!
I Like To Lie... And So Do You
I am learning how to be honest. Honest with both myself and with those around me. It's a personal journey that is much more difficult that you might imagine. I have learned that for the most part, as much as I say I am an honest person... I really am not. I like to lie... and so do you.
If you knew me, you would probably dis-agree with my assessment, because the lies I tell probably don't seem like lies at all. In fact, they are probably thing that you also tell yourself from time to time, and believe with your whole heart. The problem is, no matter how much we want to think these lies are true... well... Truth is truth... no matter how much we want to believe otherwise.
So, how does all this translate into being a Bronco Fan?

False Outrage Abounds
Let's face it... all the finger pointing around this video taping thing is revealing a lot about the fans of the Denver Broncos.
All this "Oh, I am so embarrassed" talk is total BS and you know it. For the most part, those who are saying it, don't like the coach and they want him fired... and this is the perfect way to say it in a self righteous way. Don't kid yourself. I guarantee that your tone would be different if the team was 7-3 and leading the division. All those "Embarrassed" fans would be clamoring about how this is being blown out of proportion. You know it's true.
So here is the thing. Having a different attitude toward McD about this situation because the team is 3-7 is wrong. It is total hypocrisy.
Seriously. What is there to be embarrassed about? NFL VP Jeff Pash said today that (in similar situations) "I hope clubs will conduct themselves the way the Broncos did." So how is that embarrassing? He also stated that the Broncos "had their moral compass pointing in the right direction" and that they "set example of how to properly handle this."
Sounds like we should be proud of how our team handled this situation. Instead the overwhelming tone is "Fire the coach".
All evidence points to the fact that McD and the Broncos did everything right except for inform the NFL about this matter immediately. However, they did inform the NFL. The league acknowledged that it was Bowlen, Joe Ellis, and the teams attorney that informed them about this matter. If they wanted to hide from this, they easily could have... but they didn't. They did the right thing... no reason to be embarrassed, unless you just want to have a reason to "ticked off" at McDaniels.
So let's be honest. When I see someone post "this is the Last Straw" in your support of McDaniels, what I really hear is someone who is really saying, "I don't like this coach anymore and am ready for a new one... and now, because of this situation, I can feel justified and morally right in saying so. I can give up on McD because now he is a "bad guy" and I only want what is right." Am I right?
If you don't like McDaniels, then just say so, but you don't have to demonize the guy to make yourself feel better. Again, all evidence points to the fact that McDaniels did the right thing here... otherwise the League would have been very, very hard in it's punishment. That wasn't the case, in fact the team has been praised in it's handling of this issue by the league itself.
So if you want to continue to slander our Coach and the Broncos Organization because of this thing, then go right ahead... but at least be man enough to call it like it is. Just say... "I need a good reason to not like this guy, and this is the one I am going to use." At least you would be honest with us and yourself.

I HEART JOE MAYS!
Gotta Check Out This Video on DB.com
Even has a sweet cameo by #7 himself!
Journalism at it's Worst... brought to you by Mark Kiszla and the Denver Post
I don't know if I have ever been so disgusted by an article posted by a major news outlet as I was with the latest offering from Mark Kiszla from the Denver Post. Ordinarily I would just let this kind of stuff roll of the back, but honestly, somebody has to stand up and call these guys out. Kiszla... it's time for you to move to LA and start reporting on the Raiders.
First, before we climb all over a guy for his slander... I mean, analysis... you should read it. Here is the link...

Tim Tebow will be the Denver Broncos' No. 2 quarterback Sunday versus Jacksonville, backing up Kyle Orton, according to team sources.
Tebow has been told he will play Sunday, too. The Broncos have a package of plays that they have installed for Tebow to use in front of the Jacksonville crowd he grew up around.
Man I love football! This video is one of the best I've seen in a while. Great way to kick off the NFL season! Enjoy.
Broncos running back LenDale White tore his Achilles and is out for the season.
The Great GK's "Stupidest Things in the World"
Welcome to the Great Guesskowski's "Stupidest Things in the World", where I will look into my Crystal Ball and reveal those people, ideas, thoughts, and things that are just down right stupid. Enjoy.
1. Those who think the Bronco's season is over already.
Seriously? Before even 1 single game? Before even 1 single pre-season snap? Before getting a chance to evaluate what kind of talent exists on the team... or how the team will get a chance to adjust to the injuries? Those who are already writing off the Bronco's in 2010 are just plain stupid. You know who you are...
Then again....
Sure Doom is an extremely valuable part of the Denver Broncosteam... but remember, he is not the whole team. There are 52 other guys on the squad who also contribute to the success of the team. Football is a team sport, probably one of the purest "team" sports in existence. A football team's success has never been because of 1 single player... and if that is true, then a football team's failure has never been because of 1 single player either. Sure it sucks, but the world isn't over and neither are the Broncos.
2. Tim Tebow Haters.
So, you hate Tim Tebow? Is it because the guy was quite possibly the best college football player in the history of college football? It is because the guy has the humility to carry the vet's pads, take his "Friar Tuck" haircut with a smile, and give his team and his teammates the very best at all times, even in wind sprints at the end of practice. Is it because the guy will give a large portion of his salary to charity, rather than spending it lavishly on himself? Is it because he plays football with passion and character... like a real man... the way it was intended to be played?
What is funny is that Tebow has not played one single down of NFL football, and yet people feel free to claim they can clearly see the future. Those who hate Tebow probably predicted 3-13 for the Broncos last year too. If your so clairvoyant, then go play the Lotto and let Tebow fail giving it his all. Why do you care about him so much anyway?
3. Tim Tebow Lovers.
So, you love Tim Tebow? Hey... as I said earlier, the guy has not played one single down in the NFL. Time for a reality check. Tebow isn't your proto-typical QB, and if your honest, you have to admit that his "mechanics" as compared to those prototypical QB's, suck. He isn't the most accurate passer. He doesn't throw a real pretty ball. His delivery takes forever, and He is a rookie QB in every sense of the word. He isn't quite NFL ready just yet.
So if you love the Broncos... and want them to have the very best season possible, then you have got to stop clamoring for Tim Tebow to be the starter this season... just because you are a Tebow fan or a Gator's fan. At least not until he shows the world something in a real, NFL game. Until then, your just being as stupid as the "haters" than claim he is already a bust. Now... see #4.

Former Raiders RB Justin Fargas scheduled to fly to Denver tonight to take a physical and try to finalize a deal with Broncos. Deal likely.
From the FanShots: UPDATE--Fargas' former teammate Michael Bush also tweeted that the ex-Raiders running back will sign with Denver.
The Road Ahead for Ryan Clady
With the signing of Maurice Williams, the speculation about Clady's recovery from injury is running wild. Although I am not a doctor... nor do I play one on television... I do have some experience with his specific injury. As an All-State Tight-End in High School, I also tore my Patella Tendon at the end of my Junior year... and it basically squelched any possibility of a significant scholarship to play in college. Although I had lots of calls, lots of offers to visit... and all that jazz... nobody was willing to offer anything other than "test it out the first year and we'll see". So it is obviously a serious, and somewhat career threatening injury...especially for a left tackle.
So, because I have been through the ordeal, I thought maybe I would share my personal experience, and maybe offer some insight into how realistic it will be to expect Ryan Clady to be back by the start of the 2010 season.

A Balanced Look at Tim Tebow and Sport Science
Hey guys... just wanted to pass on some info that a lot of people were considering after underdog and Guru posted the FanShot of the Sport Science segment of Tim Tebow and his adjusted throwing motion.
The Segment revealed that by adjusting where he held the ball, Tim shaved 60 milliseconds off of his throwing motion and brought it down to an average of 530 milliseconds.
The question was, how does that rank against some of the NFL QB's... and other prospects?
Well, Sport Science ran two other segments on QB's in the draft... one for John Skelton(QB prospect out of Fordham) and one for Jevan Snead (QB prospect out of Ole Miss). These segments were different from the Tim Tebow segment, which took footage from Tebow's pro-day and compared it against some game-time footage to assess his new throwing motion. The Skelton and Snead segments were basically an indoor test of the two QB's response times in identifying the correct target, and then making an accurate throw using lighted targets and two rushers.
Although they never directly compared the three QB's, if you were paying attention, you could snag some very helpful information.

"Jason Elam will sign a one-day contract with the Broncos on Wednesday to officially retire as a Bronco..."

Welcome back Jason!
In Defense of Kyle Orton - Part 2
I recently posted a article entitled "In Defense of Kyle Orton" (click here to read) in which I attempted to provide some rational considerations for why Kyle Orton was tagged with the "Game Manager" label... and then to present some reasons why I felt that we had yet to fully see exactly what Kyle Orton can do as a QB.
Improv88 then posted a wonderful rebuttal entitled "In Rebuttal to Kyle Orton" (click here to read). In it he compared the QB position to 3 types of Master Musicians...
1. The Perfectionist - Not very talented, but through discipline and hard work, becomes a very good musician.
2. The Elemental - All the talent in the world, but lacks the discipline and work ethic to go to the next level.
3. The Virtuoso - Has the talent, but also the discipline and work ethic to become the best of the best.
(I hope my summaries here accurately reflect the essence of Improv88's post)
His premise was that Kyle Orton would be classified as a "Perfectionist"... a QB that doesn't have alot of natural talent, but through discipline and hard work, has become a decent QB... but will never be able to acheive anything more because he lacks the natural talent to do so.
After the Jump, a rebuttal to the rebuttal...

In Defense of Kyle Orton
Alright... I have officially become a Kyle Orton apologist.
What's an apologist one my ask?
An apologist is one who seeks to make rational arguments in defense of a person, subject, or point of view. That makes my job to help you see rational reasons for why Kyle Orton should be given some respect as the QB of the Denver Broncos.
From the moment the Bronco's traded Cutler to the Bears for a slew of picks, with a side of KO, there have been a variety of people who have disparaged Orton as being a sub-par QB who will never amount to anything in the NFL. Many say he doesn't have a strong arm. Still others complain that he is too conservative. Even others criticize his mobility.
So the question is... are those things true, and is there rational reasons to hold to such a point of view? And if so, are there rational reasons to believe that these things will change in 2010?

An "I'm Tired" Rant... the Kyle Orton Edition
Hey there, MHR-ians... the Fan formerly known as HillisRanUover here... and I'm back after a little break with something that has made me weary and fatigued.... Enjoy.
I'm tired of the Kyle Orton vs. Brady Quinn debate. Look... Kyle Orton is the starter of the Denver Broncos. Get over it already. Remember 2009? Before training camp even began, Coach McDaniels named Kyle Orton the Day 1 starter of the Denver Broncos. And dispite all of the clamour of the fan base to start Chris Simms.... Dispite all of the "Boo's" at the training camp scrimmage... dispite the horrific pre-season start... and dispite, even calls for rookie Tom Brandstater to be the starter... guess who had the job on gameday... week 1? That's right Kyle Orton.
More after the Jump...
