I rest my case. To get Carmelo the Knicks will most likely have to give up a minimum of two first round picks, Landry Fields and Wilson Chandler or Gallo. Do you really think that one inefficient player is worth all of that? Rather than tearing the team apart for Carmelo, we can simply not trade our players and use those picks to fortify the team we already have. Acquiring Carmelo will not address our most pressing issues, interior D, rebounding and lack of a backup PG.

Posting and Toasting Knicks Next Target: Marc Gasol

Apparently if the Nets land Carmelo, the Knicks next target is Marc Gasol, according the ESPN's NBA rumours section.

Being one from the group of people who would not like to see the Knicks trade away their most promising players for an inefficient ball-hog, I think this is awesome news. Felton, Fields, Gallo, Amare and Gasol would be an awesome starting five. However, I'm fairly worried about the fact that the Knicks have played SO much better with their unconventional starting lineup with Chandler at the four and Amare at the five. Then again, Marc is SO much better than Turiaf and Mozgov.

What y'all think?
