The feds called in on Landis allegations

2

According to the Comic things are stepping up with Landis's allegations. Sounds serious. But what do I know? Perhaps one of the Americans on here with a legal background could shed some more light...

Tour of Ireland cancelled

Another race falls victim to the recession. Hopefully it'll make a return when the Irish economy swings up again

Bellis on the road to recovery

2

Looks like Johnny Bellis is making a good recovery and should be back racing in July - good news after what he's been through and hopefully he'll be able to pick things up at the level he was at when he had his crash

Parsing Bubbleboy - Vaughters speaks, Tommy-rot or truth? You decide

9

El-ve has already posted links to this series of articles but thought it'd be worth picking out this one: an Article by Dr. Evil Jonathan Vaughters on the ups and downs of Tom Danielson. I'm not really sure what the conculsion is and an awfully large amount of it seems less than scientific (apparently his problems partly stem from being 20% Inuit...) but thought the PdC collective would find it intersting. I guess the main thing it makes me wonder is what 2010 will have in store for him - will pick up where he left off in the Vuelta? Will he flop massively? Or both? And most importantly will he add to Garmin Transitions' facial hair quotient?

Merde - Puerto again...

More Spainish D-word shennanigans, let's hope they investigate it satisfactorily this time and it's not just cyclists in the firing line

Specialized dump Quickstep

19

Looks like Tommeke's antics / the prospect of the Accountantriding their bikes was too much for Specialzed so they're dumping Quickstep (who are now likely to become even more Belgian and ride Merckx bikes) So guess that means Specialized think their bucks are best spent on sponsoring big GT teams - Saxo and Astana - which I suppose makes sense given I guess the US is their prime market and so they'll get most exposure from le Tour

Sky get Pro Tour license - Skil-Shimano withdraw

The UCI has announced today that Sky and AG2R have the first of the two Pro Tour licenses that are up for grabs (link). Sky get a 4 year license and AG2R a 3 year one. Perhaps more interestingly...

Anyone reading the David Millar blogs at cyclingnews?

8

He's doing dispatches from the Vuelta - seemingly daily - which are really rather good. They have a distinct voice, are funny and well-written. The best rider diary I've read in a long time

And I can't even do a trackstand :-(

Jens! speaks

Not looking that hot - including the cyclist's tan - but the man, the myth, the legend that is Jens! seems to be as chipper as ever which is good to see
