Tebow to D.Bo?

Nothing against Brodie Croyle, but he has proven he cannot stay healthy for a 16 game season. He has had a problem with injuries since high school, tearing TWO ACLs and his shoulder injuries.

For the two years, one quarterback in particular has caught my eye. Tim Tebow. He can pass, he can run, and has a great character, which is now important in today's NFL. From http://nfldraftdog.com/2009_NFL_Draft/Tim%20Tebow.htm,
The other aspect of Tebow’s game, his running ability, puts him in an elite category of a "dual threat" QB. Although most "dual threats" are known for their speed (i.e. Pat White of West Virginia) Tebow has more of a full backs mentality as he runs behind his pads and breaks tackles with ease. He has very good speed, but not necessarily a burner. Last year, he compiled 895 yards and 23 touchdowns. Most NCAA running backs aspire for those kinds of numbers. In his short 2 year career, he has rushed for 1364 yards on 299 carries (4.6 per carry), most of which were goal line situations in which a few yards were needed. Although NFL teams will be wary of the mileage this kid has, it is also note worthy that despite having a deep bruise on his shoulder and a broken (non-throwing) hand, he continued to play at high level…that durability is something that should ease NFL teams. Couple that with his numbers (both running and throwing) and the complexity of Coach Meyer’s offense, it makes him the most NFL ready QB. Coach Meyer also plans on limiting Tebow by implementing a 2 QB rotation to give him a breather. Tebow should be the first player selected when he does enter the draft. He has 2 years left, but with a Heisman Trophy and a National Championship ring, he has little left to accomplish. Look for him to avoid the injury bug and be the 1st pick chosen in the 2009 NFL Draft
What does everyone think of him? Other quarterbacks that have caught my eye are Colt McCoy and Curtis Painter. I believe Matt Stafford is a bust waiting to happen.

League sources have told Pro Football Talk that the Kansas City Chiefs have released free safety Greg Wesley.

The 9th year safety, who has played his entire career to this point with the Chiefs, appeared in 15 games last season, started one and made 30 tackles. The Chiefs’ 3rd round pick in 2000 has 29 career interceptions.

Wesley, who is repped by Drew Rosenhaus, is expected to receive interest from a number of teams in the free agent market.

All of a sudden, drafting DaJuan Morgan makes a lot more sense.

Madden Cover????

The Madden cover comes out tomorrow. Who do you think will be on the cover?

My prediction is Purple Jesus, since EA sports seems to go with younger players. Since 2001, the cover athletes have been Eddie Geoge, Daunte Culpepper, Marshall Faulk, Dog Killer, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNabb, newly released Shaun Alexander, and Vince Young. L.T declined last year. Athletes who have been on the cover seem to be cursed the season after appearing on the cover.

Players who have appeared on the cover since 1999 have generally failed to reproduce their success of the previous years, for a variety of reasons. Marshall Faulk, Daunte Culpepper, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNabb, and Shaun Alexander all have suffered significant playing injuries in the season that they appeared on the cover. These performances and injuries resulted in speculation of a curse. The "Madden Curse" has evolved into a much-reported phenomenon, with several news and sports media outlets referring to it as a phenomenon on par with the fabled Sports Illustrated cover jinx.

Also, where can you get custom Chief covers? I would make one, but dont know how.
