Obama names Quentin 'Secretary of Dreaminess'

DATELINE--Washington D.C.--In a surprise move, President Obama named Chicago White Sox outfielder Carlos Quentin 'Secretary of Dreaminess' yesterday, as a shocked Brian Anderson looked on.

As a consequence of this stunning announcement, Quentin must spend part of his day shirtless, and will trade his car for a white horse with a flowing mane. Also he must spend one hour each chopping wood in the early morning sun while wearing tight jeans.

"He's just so great." Obama said, "especially after meeting him! He said he likes the same thing I do too!"

In congress, Vice President Biden was happy to hear the news, "I glad he finally met him. I was getting sick of Barack always talking about him, like 'did you know Carlos went to Stanford and was a poly sci major? OMG!'" Biden continued, "the 2009 budget had to be rewritten several times because the president kept writing 'B.O. + C. Q.' in a heart on every page, and originally signed it into law as 'Barack Quentin.'"

“A stylized 'Q' created with glitter and attached by Elmer's glue found on the TARP proposal was originally thought to be made by Timothy Geitner, but now it is clearly shown to come from the desk of the President,” Biden concluded.

Secretary of Dreaminess was last held during the Clinton administration by Robert Reich.

The White Sox will do everything they can to welcome back Joe Crede with open arms before tonight's game against the Minnesota Twins: video tribute, news conference, standing ovations -- the whole red-carpet treatment.

After that, however, the mission is to make the former Sox third baseman's weekend as uncomfortable as possible.

At the Cell, Illinois Sport Service will unveil build-your-own-burrito (or nacho grande) kiosks on the upper and lower decks; fans will be able to choose a meat (chicken or beef) and select from a wide range of toppings for $7-$8.

At the various grill stations in the park, the menus will be augmented by a half-pound turkey burger on a multigrain roll ($6.25). And the Cell will continue to offer value pricing on combo orders (hot dog plus 14-ounce soda plus chips for $5.50; burger and fries with 14-ounce soda for $8). An upper-deck station will offer a Taste of the Ballpark ($7.50), consisting of hot dog, 20-ounce soda, small nachos, small peanuts and sample bag of popcorn.

And wine by the glass at the Cell? Believe it; a wine bar (actually a free-standing cart) on the lower level, along the first-base line, will dispense wines by the glass for $7.50 and $9.50. "It's a bit of an upgrade to the normal splits [$6.50] we already serve," says Pete Spike, general manager for Sports Service.
