First off, nice crowd. Fortunately one of the guys I went with had the idea to go into the auditorium early and I’m glad he did. We sat stage left and who sat right in front of us? Coach Kadlec. We got up and talked to him for a few minutes before it started. Coach had had a knee replacement but was doing fine. Coach Kadlec got up and started the night off. When he did, Coach Pinkel sat in the seat Coach Kadlec vacated so we chatted a bit with him. Howard Richards got up next and spoke of his recruitment by Coach Kadlec and he spoke a bit about now being with the U doing radio. I guess he was nervous cause he finished and walked off without introducing Coach Pinkel. Coach Kadlec jumped up and interrupted Pinkel who’d already introduced himself and started talking to introduce him and Richards came back up obviously embarrassed. Then Coach Kadlec came back down and sat by us the rest of the night. Pinkel came out and staunchly defended Mike Alden saying that everyone that ripped on him needs to send him an email or letter, lots of them, apologizing for all the crap he got over the Frank Haith hiring (though he didn’t actually say Haith’s name).

Wouldn't that be sweet news? This weeks Parade Magazine is out and on the cover is high school phenom, Dorial Green-Beckham.There is a nice mention in the article about Jeremy Maclin tweeting about DGB's big game on ESPNU in August. It would be great if the little things like that can help seal the deal for Mizzou to land this in-state player. It would also be nice to land another Parade POY and then hope and pray he doesn't get hurt ala Tony Van Zant.

Maty Mauk gets a nice mention and is at the top of the QB list on the team. It would be great to hear Jim Kelly screaming about an amazing connection between these two in an intense SEC match-up!

I'm sort of surprised by the list though. Conspicuous by his absence is Gunner Kiel. Too, Evan Boehm isn't listed as a lineman. Given all the recruiting hype both of these guys have received, I'm surprised they're not on the team too.

We got new Sprint phones today. I was hoping to be able to download ESPN ScoreCenter because I'm used to it. So, I'm rummaging through the phones features and see an application called Sprint Football Live. And I drill into that only to find, ROCK-M-NATION IS FRICKING PRE-PROGRAMMED in my phone! Oh hell yeah! Game day at Mizzou thedad will be able to jump into the conversation this year!! SWEET!

I don't know how many of you know Chris Lozano, Stiffy on TigerBoard.com, but his brother Rich (Iam) posted this early this morning:

Stiffy's oldest son collapsed two days ago and was rushed to the emergency room. He passed away today. He was the kindest person I've ever known. He was 24.

 I know many of us have met Chris and even probably his son (I know he came by the tailgate many of us used to frequent). There is a thread on The Shack at Tigerboard.

Beef's birthday. Hey dude, hope you have a good one. We missed you at the game Saturday. The weather was crappy but the company was nice. Well, except our wet asses... but Dave tried to drink enough beer for us all. MT came by Merlin's too. Course Bill got there at the 11th hour but getting there is the important thing.

 Did I hear you were busy becoming a multi-home owner? I guess that's a pretty good reason to be out, but that also means I gotta snag a job over there!

Anybody going to make the baseball game in StL Wednesday? I can't make that one due to a conflict with a daughters soccer schedule. But, I will be at the game on 4/28 in O'Fallon. If anyone wants to tailgate, I'd be interested in doing so. I'm not a real baseball nut, but do enjoy getting to a game or two every season.

Well, it's finaly here! I've been waiting for these two games to come to town so I don't have to drive all the way to COMO to watch a sport in the cold...
