(Can anyone point me to a copy of Jerry Allen's call of that touchdown last year? It was a great call and I'm shocked that I can't find it on Youtube.)

I think Juju is just messing with us now. This is the handwriting work my second grader was doing in school yesterday.

Seriously, Juju? Seriously?

Addicted To Quack Just wondering aloud

Before I begin, allow me to say that this scenario is EXTREMELY hypothetical, almost certain not to occur, and that the Ducks need to Win The Day twice more before this is even possible.  First things first - beat the Cats and Barkrats.

Now then.

What happens if Oregon and Auburn both run the table and get invited to the national championship game, but a day or two before the game there appears some kind of irrefutable "smoking gun" evidence that Cam Newton took money and has been ineligible all season?

Addicted To Quack Kenny Wheaton: Tailback?

I was watching the '94 Ducks highlight film today and I think I saw Kenny Wheaton score an offensive touchdown...I'm pretty sure it was in the Portland State game.

Obviously we all know the position he ended up playing, but did he come into the program as a running back or did my eyes deceive me?

I've looked around the interwebs and I can't find any references to him being a running back, but I swear I saw him score on a running play.

Henry and James Mack were arrested a day earlier after the two met to buy cocaine from a person who was cooperating with authorities, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Yeesh, I know he's had some off the field trouble, but this is completely out of the blue.

I hope he's able to get the legal and (if necessary) drug recovery help he needs. Sounds like a bad, bad situation.

The Indians say Scott Elarton has a non-baseball-related medical condition and will be out indefinitely. Fingers crossed that it's nothing too bad.

I know there had been some speculation that Elarton would take CC's vacated roster spot, but Indians.com says it's going to be Juan Rincon.

Can 2008 possibly get any worse?

Why, yes. Yes it can.

After he was called out on strikes in the ninth inning of Triple-A Buffalo's 5-4 extra-inning loss to Rochester, Cabrera raised his bat over his head in the direction of Klein. Cabrera stepped toward the umpire as he continued to shout, while third baseman Andy Gonzalez tried to restrain him.

Torey Lovullo says Cabrera was just trying to hit himself in the helmet with his bat, but the MLB.com report suggests there could be a fine and/or suspension on the way.

Please, please, please tell me this spells the end of the Jorge Velandia era. Is there anything Velandia can do better than Graffanino? On a baseball field, I mean.

Let's Go Tribe June 2008 Schedule Wallpaper

It's an interleague bonanza! I'd say something snarky about how you can use this calendar to help you avoid watching the 2008 Cleveland Indians, but we're a hardy bunch. If we can sit through Jon Perlman and Jaime Navarro and Fran Mullins and Aaron Boone, we can live through this, right? Anyway, click below for this month's wallpaper. Once again, I was able to just barely get it done before the month's games began. Two hours to spare this time.

Let's Go Tribe May 2008 Indians Wallpaper Schedule

Wasn't sure I was going to be able to get this done in time - my computer's acting up like crazy - but I got it working long enough to make this month's wallpaper schedule.

I can't believe it's been 27 years since Large Lenny's perfect game.  I was five years old, but clearly remember watching the final out with my older brother.  Nice to see that the video of the game is still available via MLB.com.

Let's Go Tribe November 2007 Wallpaper Schedule

Including November schedules for the Browns and Cavaliers.

Please let me know in the comments section if this is useful now that the season's over.  If nobody's using these in the offseason, I won't spend my time making them.

So, uh, yeah.  The 300 character minimum, huh?  I wonder if the Cavs will wear Shawn Kemp-era rainbow-basket logo throwbacks anytime soon.  Those would be sweet.  Man, I miss those hideous uniforms.

Buffalo Rumblings Bills interested in Toronto home game

Commence panicking?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-bills-toronto&prov=ap&type=lgns

As of now, the plans are to play an exhibition game in Toronto in '08 and a regular season game there in '09.  According to the article, this requires both county and state approval, and my completely uninformed stance is to assume that's a rubber-stamp situation.

For its part, the team says this isn't a first step toward relocation.  Of course, that means absolutely nothing - Ralph Wilson says the team's going nowhere as long as he's alive, and besides...what are they going to do, announce they're moving and play as lame ducks in Orchard Park for another five seasons?

For my part, I'm not really panicking, but I'm certainly uneasy about the whole thing.  The future of the team in Western New York shouldn't even be a question, and it sucks that we're even talking about this.

Let's Go Tribe October 2007 Wallpaper Schedule

It's sort of tricky to do this for October, with opponents not being set past the first round and times flexible depending on the whim of television executives in Atlanta and Los Angeles.

I didn't get terribly creative with the image, but hey...it's what we all hope to see Pronk, Grady, C.C., and Victor hoisting at the end of the month, right?

Looks like I'll probably continue to do some sort of calendar wallpaper over the offseason.  But as always, no promises.

Buffalo Rumblings Rochester D&C: Worst Bills team in recent memory?

http://tinyurl.com/ys78jv

I've been a Bills fan for about 21 years now (since the Kelly signing), so I missed the really dark days of Kay Stephenson and Lou Saban.

This team may end up with one of the worst won-loss records in team history, given the ridiculous injury situation it's facing.  But it's tough for me at this point to say it's a worse team than the '01 Bills.  Yes, the defense is starting three non-drafted free agents.  Yes, the offense has been awful.  But they've played two Super Bowl contenders and a solid Denver team.

I dunno, I'm not at all optimistic about this season, but with all the challenges the Bills are facing this year, I've at least got to give them a bit of a pass.  2-14 or 3-13 with half the team on IR is better than the 3-13 debacle under Gregg Williams.

We'll see, I guess.

Addicted To Quack Arizona football: Torn

Looks like the natives are getting restless in Tucson.

Granted, though, if I had to live in Tucson, I'd be restless too.  I spent the longest year of my life there one month.

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/09/19/arizona-football-is-torn/

Obligatory hat tip: AOL Fanhouse

It's tough for me to see a whole lot of progress in the 'Cats, but on the other hand it can take a few years before your recruits cycle through the program and are ready to contribute.  This is what, year four of the Stoops era?  Losses to BYU and New Mexico don't bode well.

Addicted To Quack Jason Maas traded to Montreal...maybe

Jason's struggled along with his Tiger-Cat teammates this season, so when Hamilton signed Casey Printers yesterday, they almost immediately made a deal to send Maas to Montreal.

For his part, Jason Maas is not happy about getting traded to the Als, and is apparently strongly considering not reporting to his new team.

Which is really sort of weird.  Getting traded from the Tiger-Cats is sort of like getting traded from the Temple football team, or the Oregon State basketball team.  Seems like it should be cause for celebration.

Let's Go Tribe September 2007 Schedule Wallpaper

...is here.

Frankly, the more I looked at the August design, the more I hated how busy it was.  So I went simple for September.

It's also worth noting that since September begins on a Saturday, the entire month doesn't fit on the calendar.  Them's the breaks.  I'll have to include September 30th on the October wallpaper.

Also, what's the consensus on calendar wallpapers after the season ends?  Would you use them?

Let's Go Tribe August 2007 Schedule Wallpaper

Here it is.

I'm not 100% thrilled with it - it's maybe a bit busy, but we're less than six hours from August and I need to learn not to be so much of a perfectionist.

I have no idea why one of the games in Chicago is listed as an 8:10 start and the others are 8:11 starts, but that's what the schedule at Indians.com says.

As an aside, and mostly so I can reach the 300 character minimum, a trivia question:  The Indians had three pitchers who appeared in games in 1985 and/or 1986 and were born in Europe.  Name them.

Let's Go Tribe Marlins interested in Gutierrez?

According to the Miami Herald, the Marlins are looking for a long-term solution in center field and Franklin Gutierrez is at or near the top of their list.

Link: http://www.miamiherald.com/588/story/180067.html

I wouldn't necessarily mind trading him - his strikeout and walk rates still worry me - but even if Franklin projects as a fourth outfielder, what would the Marlins have that would interest Cleveland?

In terms of veterans, Armando Benitez is a possibility, but he hasn't been consistently effective in three years.  I can't see Willis or Cabrera being any part of a Gutierrez deal.  BK Kim is junk, Boone and Olivo are awful.  It's not going to be a young, effective, cheap major league player.  So it'd almost have to be a prospect.

But who?  The Marlins don't really have much down there in the minors.  Chris Coghlan looks vaguely interesting.  Logan Morrison is a stud, but I can't see them parting with him for Gutierrez.

Henry Owens maybe?

Am I missing someone? Or is the Herald just blowing smoke?

Let's Go Tribe July Wallpaper Schedule

It's a day late.  Sorry about that - I had to work over the weekend, when I had originally planned to finish this.

Hopefully it was worth the wait.

Interestingly, one-line diaries are prohibited on Let's Go, Tribe!. I had nothing to add to this proposed diary, but it probably doesn't belong as a comment under another appropriate thread.
The minimum is 300 characters. Just so you know.

Let's Go Tribe June '07 Indians Schedule Wallpaper

Finished with barely eight hours to spare, it's a schedule wallpaper for June.

If you want the jumbo sized 1600x1200 format, you can get it here, but if you're content to roll with the 1024x768 version, you're in luck.  Right-click away, folks.

As I mentioned in the May calendar post, I'd like to think I'll do one of these for each month of the season, but I don't want to promise anything.

Let's Go Tribe Worst Starting Outfield Ever?

Well, no, but Michaels-Gutierrez-Luna ain't exactly the sort of thing we were hoping to see when the season started.

I've been digging around Retrosheet looking for the worst Indians starting outfield I can find...Selby-Magruder-Lawton back in 2002 is the worst I can find.

Which leads to my question: What's the worst starting outfield the Indians have used in the last 15-20 years?
