Today is the day that the Mynas believed the world would end. With that prophecy looking like it will be false it does give fans everywhere a good opportunity to have what I think is a great discussion. I have three great questions for any KU fan, If the world ended tomorrow what KU sports would you have to see? What would you like to see changed at KU? What previous event at KU would you have to go back and see?

If the world ended tomorrow the KU event I would have to see before that would have to be KU winning a national championship in football. Though if this ever does happen I fully expect the world to end the following day. The idea that KU would win a national championship in football is far fetched, trust me I know, but if we are all honest with ourselves how cool would that be? Maybe I'm a little biased because I have watched so many years of awful KU football that the idea of them winning the national championship just seems crazy. In 2007 they got pretty dang close. I was in 7th grade and that team will be forever in my memory. It was just awesome watching KU run through teams. My family has always been season football ticket holders. When I was young we would drive 6 hours one way just to watch Terry Allen and KU lose by 50+. I guess that's why KU winning a national championship in football would be so amazing that I would be OK with the world ending the next day.

The thing I would like to see changed at KU before the world end is to remodel Memorial Stadium. I know it sounds like I want to see a lot of things happen to KU football before the world ends but that is mainly because I haven't seen too many positive things happen to KU football. The Memorial Stadium renovation is a lot more likely than KU football winning a national championship. I believe that the renovation will happen sooner rather than later. Though if they do renovated Memorial Stadium I would love for it to happen within the next couple of years so the stadium isn't a dump all four years I'm at KU. The satisfy my want to renovated Memorial Stadium they need to lower the field, add suites to the student side of the stadium, square in the bowl, move the video board to on top of the bowl so they can add seats and not block the view from the hill and add a tunnel between the locker room and the field, and finally add seat backs to all the seats but the students. That last part is a must happen. I can't tell you how many games I've been to and I feel uncomfortably close to the person next to me because the assigned space for seats is just too small. I would never want them to add seat backs to the student section but everywhere else is more than necessary.

The last question, what KU would I have to go back and see before the world ends would be the basketball game between KU and Texas Western. It is probably one of the best games that is commonly forgotten. So for those of you who don't understand why I would want to go back see this game is because one seeing Texas Western would be very historic and very cool. I'm a bit of a history nut so seeing how much different the game is now compared to then would also be cool. The final and biggest reason why I would like to see this game is to see if Jo Jo White actually did step on the line when he shot and made a game winner that would have sent KU to the final four. In the movie Glory Road they show Jo Jo's heel clearly stepping out of bounds. Though their are plenty of eye witness reports that say otherwise. One of those eye witness reports was my grandfather who swears that Jo Jo's heel was not out of bounds. I would like to believe that Jo Jo was in fact in bounds because I'm a KU fan. Though I have to sit back and remember how much this game meant to the sport of basketball and to sports in general. Just think if Jo Jo's heel was in bounds Texas Western never plays Kentucky, the all black starting five doesn't happen in 1966, and sports as we know it are probably a bit different.

So what do you think? What are your answers to those three questions? I would love to hear your opinions and ideas. Also I love feedback on my writing, both positive and negative, because I want to be a journalist and the only way to get better is to hear what people think of your work.

Ben McLemore has been everything he was advertised to be. McLemore leads the team in scoring with 16.0PPG and I believe he is just about to take off. Gradually McLemore has become more assertive in the offense. After the game against Michigan State McLemore looked like he didn't want to step on the toes of senior leader Elijah Johnson. He only took 7 shots and he made 5 of them. After that game McLemore has taken and made more shots. He has the ability to score in bunches which always seems to put KU on one of their trademark 18-2 runs in games. Though his best trait is his resiliency. Against San Jose State McLemore was awful. McLemore didn't make a three pointer, 0/7, and was only 5/16 from the field. A mere 13 points for the superstar in the making.

The so called superstar freshmen before McLemore wouldn't have bounced back. McLemore did. Against Oregon State McLemore not only made a couple three pointers, 3/4, but he took the ball to the hoop, threw down a rim-shaking dunk on his way to 21 points on 8/14 shooting from the field.

This is kid is special.

So watch him while you can because he will be gone after this year. As of December 4 McLemore is predicted to go 3rd overall in the NBA draft. That would make him the highest draft pick in Bill Self's era at KU. There is no doubt that McLemore's draft stock is on the rise, CBS had him going outside of the lottery before the season. The December 4th mock draft doesn't include the gem of a performance McLemore had against Colorado this saturday. McLemore who only played 30 minutes in this game, most of those points came in the 1st half and early 2nd half, scored a game high 24 points. This time McLemore wasn't on fire from the field, instead he scored 10 of his 24 points from the free throw line. McLemore has shown he can score in just about every way possible which along with his athleticism has NBA scouts lining up with the KU students to watch him play.

The only thing is he hasn't reached his potential at KU. Buckle up and enjoy the flight because soon, very soon, Flight 23 will take off. Though it's destination looks to be in the NBA it may have a layover in Atlanta to collect a ring.

I have decided to make a fantasy baseball league. If you want to join obviously just comment. Details, it will be on ESPN the number of teams will hopefully [fingers crossed] be somewhere between 12 and 16. I also want it to be an auction draft but I will let there be a vote for that. Also I would really like this to be a keeper league. I will make a league name once people say they want in. Post any questions once it looks like we are going to have a league i will let people know the password for the league so you can join.

I have realized throughout this Big 12 season that the Big 12 officials are terrible. They are inconsistent and call way to many fouls. They also like to control the tempo of the game and it forces the teams to make free throws. Tom O'neal John Higgins and Scott Thornely are horrible. The officials also in my personal opinion call the game to promote themselves. They also get lost in the game and don't understand the rules of the game well enough. I don't know how you guys feel but this is really starting to grind my gears.

Sorry if this is old news. As a 16 year old I have never watched a good Royals baseball team and the person I blame is David Glass. So What scares me the most about Gil Meche retiring and giving David Glass 12.4 Million is that we as fans will never see the benefits of it. Gil Meche as we all know has done something that most modern athletes would call a waste. Gil has noticed that the Royals run a tight budget and he didn't want to waste their money. I absolutely love this move by him and he should always be welcome to the K with a loud ovation. Only there is one problem, David Glass not the Royals as a team will get the money. The money as I understand goes right to David Glass and that most likely won't leave his bank account. The worst part the fans will be upset and I doubt David Glass will bat an eye. Which brings me to my point. I feel bad for Gil, and my anger towards David Glass grows. Gil is trying to do something selfless and make the Royals better. Gil wants this to be used on players that will make this team better and 12.4 million can really help this team become better. Not ticket prices or charity I'm sure Gil gives enough to those. He wants to talent on this team to be there. I really wonder sometimes if Mr. Glass does too. So heres my poll. Does Gil's gift get used on players, charity, tickets, or does Glass pocket it.

So I was in class thinking about KU [pretty typical for me] and had an interesting thought. That thought was Danny has made KU the place to be for big men. I thought this because he has consistently since joining the full time staff made our big men phenomenal and NBA ready. He also is still a recruiting tool because when kids hear about him as a player and find out how great of a coach he is you have to be impressed. If you think about the skill of the big men that have come to Kansas and the skill of the big men when they leave KU they aren't even the same players. Also I don't know if this has been talked about on here I'm new but Danny on show says that he is the bad cop when the players do something bad. That also is good for this team because it allows Bill not be something he isn't. That is a polarizing figure which makes his pregame speeches more effective in my opinion. The thought about Danny as a big men coach brought me to this poll. In which role has Danny had a bigger impact as, player or coach. I voted coach but I'm curious to hear what Rock Chalk Talk has to say.

I know I don't have the respect of the rock chalk talk blog but I hope I will soon. The only way to do that is to post about the jayhawks on this blog. I have to say this win was a big one. The Jayhawks played like well, the 2008 team. Now I will not say they are nearly as good or have the mind set of that team. But tonight when every pundit that has a voice said they weren't legit and they proved everyone how legit they are. They played inspired basketball tonight and hopefully they can build on this game. Self lately has been babying Selby a little bit and that's working because slowly but surely his play is improving. Selby can't be just a 3pt shooter he needs to drive and he has been doing more of that. Every aspect of this performance was uplifting because lately they have been scaring me. So rock chalk talk am I crazy is this a big win or was it just a good performance?

OK I have had enough. As a die hard 15 year old chiefs fan I have had enough. I've heard from my dad, I've heard from all the messages boards, I've heard it on 810, and I've heard from the national media. Quite frankly I have had enough. Everyone and I really do mean everyone believes the chiefs are going to lose. They are going to lose in large part because everyone is down because the Chiefs lost last Sunday and now they play the Ravens. Which really makes me mad because people just don't get the playoffs I guess. If you think about all the years of the playoffs there has been an upset or two. So, why not us? Why not the Cinderella Kansas City Chiefs. Why not? Why can't the team with a good defense win just one playoff game? Why not? Doesn't defense win championships? Why won't the best running team in the NFL win just one playoff game? Why can't arrowhead be the loudest stadium in the NFL and cause problems like it did in week 1? Everyone is writing the chiefs off but why? They have what it takes to win playoff games. They don't turnover the football. They run the ball. They play solid defense and they have coaches who have been there and won a few playoff games. But everyone doesn't see it that way, everyone see Chiefs vs Ravens and assume that there is no way the AFC West CHAMPS can win. The playoffs don't care about stats. The match ups don't matter either. It's one playoff team vs another playoff team. The chiefs are at home in the toughest place to play in the NFL. The motivation on this team is going to be at an all time high they just got embarrassed at home and now they have a chance to redeem themselves. Enough with the "Oh man I hope they take it easy on us." You don't always make the playoffs happy we are playing a home game. Get pump wear red and be loud Chief fans. This team wants to hear the place go to 120 decibels. You have got to want it more than the next guy and this team wants win this one for themselves and for the Chiefs faithful. Chiefs fans be optimistic why can't the chiefs beat the Ravens just one time?

I find this as an interesting match-up because both teams stumbled to the finish line. The ravens defense is incredible but it also has times where it is not as incredible. The chiefs can be the same way with there run game. Some games its fantastic others no so great. Both teams have big play safeties. The ravens undoubtedly will be the favorite but I wouldn't sleep on a motivated chiefs team that just got embarrassed in their last game. I'm curious to what day and time this game will be I can see either a SNF or the early Sunday game.

I personally think that if Charlie Weis is really going to Florida then the next OC will be Nick Siranni. Siranni seems like the "guy" because of his role already and he and Todd work well together. If you really think about this year's offense all Charlie did was develop Matt Cassel. Though the argument can be made that Cassel's performance this year can be thanks to just another year in the system with receivers who [knock on wood] drop the ball less. Also Cassel has a better line and a dominate run game which he didn't have last year. We all knew that when they hired Weis it was either going to be a great move for Haley or it was going to get him fired. Charlie did what he had to do to make this offense work and that was let Todd Haley be the head coach. Even though I still believe that Haley still had a major role in this offense. Which had to make Weis mad. I noticed throughout the year Haley was screaming into the headset, my guess that was a Charlie. Siranni is almost always next to Haley during the games this season which would make one think that they work well together. I am curious who people think will replace Charlie but my bet is Siranni because of his ability to work with Haley and knowledge of this offense.Kansas City Chiefs
