Blogging The Boys Kyle Orton...

This isn't going to happen, but I like Kyle Orton and I think he could do well in a different system. A fellow Cowboys friend said he would be a good backup for the Cowboys, but I disagreed saying that the Cowboys seem to like passers and Orton won't ever be a great passer. Heck, although Kitna is old, he is a passer.

Anyone think Orton would be a good backup for Cowboys?

NFL Network analyst Jason LaCanfora tweeted today that the Philadelphia Eagles are "letting it be known that CB Asante Samuel could be had prior to the trade deadline."

Blogging The Boys Choice Trade?

I saw that Jerry Jones was getting calls to trade Tashard Choice. I wonder who is trying to get Choice. Any idea?

I hope Jerry Jones pulls the trigger because all 3 of the Cowboys running backs are below average, and Choice is probably the best of the bunch. Injury-prone Felix Jones is worthless and the rookie from Oklahoma doesn't look like he's going to be much more than a 2nd team runner, despite tonight's decent game.

I don't know if Choice is at an all-time high in trade value, but maybe the Cowboys could get a decent offensive lineman, corner or draft pick.

Blogging The Boys Position Reserve Players and their importance

There is something about this team that is reminding me of the Cowboys of the 90s when the team was always a winner. The big difference I have noticed after two weeks is that "position" players are making huge plays. Jesse Holly made a few huge receptions. Kevin Olgetree looks great out there. Alan Ball had an important INT.

Blogging The Boys Today's big win comes at a cost. And the field goal game

I was only able to HEAR the game on Sirius radio today but it sounded like the defense stepped up and made big plays when it needed to, which is unlike the Cowboys defense of the past decade. That is a very good sign. Jay Ratliff's overtime sack was huge but the Cowboys were able to press Alex enough to make every pass tough.

Blogging The Boys Tough loss, but....

That was certainly a very tough loss to watch but there were a lot of good things to build on for this season, despite the fourth quarter meltdown.

Blogging The Boys Cowboys lose out on another FA safety

Looks like the Jags are signing Dawan Landry. Are the Cowboys really going to address the safety hole in house? I do not understand this at all.

I really don't like anyone left on the board. I cannot stand to watch Sensabaugh again this year. I don't even want to watch Terence Newman, who I think is one of the most overrated corners in the NFL. I never understood why he made the Pro Bowl other than one season.

I am surprised Ryan didn't force the hand to get a few real strong free agents in this year. If you think back at the Cowboys championship run in the 90s, the smart moves in free agency put the team over the top.

Blogging The Boys Cowboys had to make these cuts

Are the Dallas Cowboys going to be a better team this season? We can only hope so, but after today's big-name cuts some people may wonder how the Cowboys can make up for losing so many starters.

Marion Barber's production dropped each year since he became starter and he is no longer a solid choice for the backfield rotation. As hard as this cut was for us fans, it was a necessary move.

Losing possibly two offensive linemen is a little bit surprising, but both Leonard Davis and Marco Colombo did very little to protect Tony Romo. The Cowboys did not have a solid offensive line and some rebuilding must take place, and it will. But this is scary territory, and I have no idea how the front line will look when Romo takes his first snap of the season.

Roy Williams's performance never matched what the Cowboys gave away for him and the result has been painful to endure. Another necessary move even though Williams had his best year as a Cowboys in 2010.

I would love to see the Cowboys get a No. 3 receiver who is known for his hands and clutch catches, such as Brandon Stokley or Lance Moore.

At safety, I would like to see the Cowboys go after Eric Weddle or Michael Huff.

Hogs Haven Chris Cooley likes pottery (VIDEO)

I found this gem of a video today about Chris Cooley's love for pottery. You can see it here.

You would never see Jason Witten do something as feminine as this. Chris Cooley is so feminine. Last year, I saw him getting his nails done in Ashburn Va. Are Redskins fans cool with his feminine side? Do you guys find him cute or annoying?

I respect the guy, but I could never figure out why he portrayed himself in public in such a girly way.

Blogging The Boys Trade Patrick Crayton to the Seahawks!

That's right!

Who wants to get on board this train? Where was Patrick Crayton last night? Should the Dallas Cowboys reconsider his future in silver and blue? He’s been a non-factor since week one. He had no catches–yes NO CATCHES–in the game last night.

Where is Patrick Crayton? I cannot answer that question, but I sure know where Miles Austin is.

Crayton needs to step up. He’s the guy with a mission to prove himself after the criticism he got after the NY Giants playoff loss. Wasn’t he the guy who was to impress us this year?

I know a team who would be more than happy to pay $19 million for a wide receiver for five years. Maybe Crayton would like to join former teammate Julius Jones.
