Padres finally win in a trade with Cardinals

Looks like the change of scenery didn't help Khalil-bot at all.

Shortstop Khalil Greene will be used in more of a utility role rather than starting for at least the near term, manager Tony La Russa confirmed Monday. The hope is that Greene, whose struggles at the plate have bled into his defense, will benefit mentally from a lighter load.

via images.stltoday.com

He's been really struggling and the rookie the Cards have brought up, Tyler Greene (no relation, as robots can't procreate....yet) has been playing really well.

And in this quote, Khalil finally admits to being a robot

"I don't think there's anybody who could understand the depth of how frustrating it can be," Greene said, "because it's not something I leave at the field. Ideally, that would be the case. But I guess the reality of it is that's not how I'm wired. So I have to work extremely hard to get away from the field mentally."

He tries to cover his tracks with this quote, but it's exactly what a robot would say..no human would call themselves an intelligent thinking human being.

"That's the way it's always been," Greene said, referring to his condition's compulsive nature. "It's not rational. It's not something I think as an intelligent thinking human being"

I'm thinking the Cards can encourage fans to still come to the ballpark by tying Khalil-bot into the new Terminator movie. I can picture Khalil screaming as Christian Bale asks him if he thinks he's human...and then reveals his robot torso. Cross promotion at its best.

In closing...congrats Padres fans...you finally got the better end of the deal

I was turned on to this from Lance's Twitter posts. Lance called it a "must watch", so all you uncommon sportsman out there better oblige.

The video takes a little while to get going..some dramatic setup stuff and then some fairly common street free riding stuff...but then it gets to be, well, awesome.

Rider's name is Danny MacAskill and he's riding around Edinborugh

Do yourself a favor and check it out

See, and all of you were worried! The Padres have made sure that they've attacked the market for every aged veteran out there. The new ownership is determined to have the greatest disabled list in MLB history.

But this video of a Mexican celebration shows a much funnier use for sledgehammers....hitting explosives! I'm not even sure this has anything to do with sport, but it is definitely funny.

This gives new meaning to Mexican jumping bean. Skip ahead to the 1:35 mark for the height of hilarity. This kid hits an explosive and it sends him flying. This is craziness! I can't believe it!

Crab Dressers

I'd embed the video, but it's disabled. The video shows a clip from a BBC doc about weird nature. In it, they show crabs that use fabric and other items to dress themselves, providing important camoflauge from their predators.

It's pretty funny watching the crabs get their items "just right" ..patting down the fabric hear..puffing it up there...and then putting on pearls for the finishing touch.

I call it a contest because in the most basic sense of the word, it is exactly that. The crab that dresses the worst will probably be killed.
