4-0?
i just looked at our schedule and i think we have a chance to start the season 4-0, not that it will happen but it could, detroit sucks, tampa is getting older, carolina will be missing smith so they wont have an offense, and the cheifs dont have a qb and their best player allen went to the vikings so their pass rush is going to take a hit. If what i hear comes to fruition and ryan to white becomes something of a regular and our defense can play decent we can definitely compete in all of those four games. what do you guys think? am i being to optimistic or do we really have a shot?

excited about the Falcons
I don't know why but im really amped for the next couple of seasons. I know that a successful season would mean maybe 5 wins and a unsucessful one would be about 0 to 1 wins, but with 12 new starters, 6 on each side of the ball, theres some storylines to watch and we have that power back that we've missed sine jamal anderson was here 10 years ago. yeah i know turner might not be all of what jamal was but you can dare to dream and if he is then that means that if the d is sound and the o line can figure out how to block than we might win ..... 4 games and that is a lot of ifs but it just might happen. But lets not be too hard on our selves the winner of this division last year won 9 games, that's it and all the rest of the teams were under 500, if we get a good ground game going that would make us a contender for the division, i know right now your thinking im an idiot but remember back in 97 when the falcons were supposed to be crap again and then jamal came and gave us a solid running game and we had a qb that didn't make many mistakes and we were able to move the ball which took less pressure off the defense and wa la we won some games. now im not saying this is going to happen this year but maybe if matt ryan doesnt get killed this year then this may be what we get to look forward to in the years to come, and im excited.

the forgotten hero?
For georgia fans many remember the year when D.J Shockley took the reins of Georgia football and led us to an sec crown, im sure tech fans remember it less fondly, but still most Falcons fans remember it is my point. Now all i hear is Matt Ryan, which is the quarterback of the future untill proven otherwise, but Shockley might be more suited to the falcons style of play right now. The least of which is the ability to scramble which could be a lifesaver when a fan looks over the decimated O-Line. Shockley also has a great arm with touch and can make all the throws, has a great attitude and is a proven team player(see four years on bench at georgia). Instead of just throwing an obvious talent away i think Shockley deserves to be considered by the organization and the fans as a real possibility in leading the falcons back to the playoffs.

falcons need new image
when michael vick started to wow the nation the falcons changed their image from the black and silver to a weird sort of hip hop uniform, easily the most modern looking in the nfl but with vick gone and a new regime coming in i think that a image overhaul is in order. I personally would like to see the falcons go with an updated version of the red uniforms back when bartkowski used to play but with black socks and shoes to keep a touch of the new, modern look as well. This would help the team and the fans move on from such a trying period in the franchise's history and would make the football team's image coincide with the new hard nosed, traditional style that they will be using from now on.
