Rock Chalk Talk Recruiting Update!

If you haven't heard of Jeff Withey from San Diego California in the class of 2008 the big man is strongly considering the University of Kansas as an option of transfering at the end of the semester from Arizona.  Originally Jeff gave a verbal commitment to Louisville, then changed to Arizona, however with Lute Olson's departure, Withey as asked to be released.

The NCAA ha agreed which will allow Withey to join a team this spring of 09.  While not yet confirmed, many think the choice he will make is Kansas, a quote and link are attached to give creedance to the report.

At 7'0 this would be a great addition!  Like Cole he has always played center, has good soft hands, athletic, and a nice mid range shot.  Perhaps this is why Cheek went with Villanova (probably speculating too much) so self could give the last scholarship to Withey!

Imagine two guys at 6'11 and 7'0 running the floor together!

"The San Diego high school coach of 7-foot center Jeff Withey said he expects Withey to pick Kansas over Gonzaga and Texas. "I

think he's about 80 percent Kansas," Waheed Mitchell said. Withey, ranked the No. 8 senior center in the nation by Scout.com and Rivals.com last season, was just released from his Arizona letter of intent. He quit practicing with the Wildcats after Olson resigned."

Rock Chalk Talk Cheek set to decide on Friday!

Though this may be old news for those in though know of Kansas basketball recruiting, Dominic Cheek the 6'5 guard out of New Jersey is set to pick between two schools Villanova and Kansas this Friday after practice.  As a die hard Kansas fan I can not see why Cheek would not choose Kansas over Villanova.  Then again the same can be said for Michael Snaer who ultimately chose Florida State over Kansas.

I have considered two main factors of why Cheek could choose Villanova over Kansas, fellow teammate Maalik Wayns has chosen Villanova as well as a relativly close location to his hometown and family.  However Tyshawn Taylor plays for Kansas and they attended the same high school and played basketball together for years.  Adding to that Cheek was quoted as being genuinely impressed with the progress and improvement Taylor has shown since leaving New Jersey, which I think obbviously alludes to good coaching. Throw the fact that every 2 years Kansas is in the hunt for a National Championship, and that Cheek fits into the starting lineup replacing Brady Morningstar, then it would make perfect sense for Cheek to attend Kansas.

Recruiting is tricky and full of suprises so who knows how this will play out but how great would this possible lineup be if all current players remained with added possible recruits

Wall

How stacked is that!

Rock Chalk Talk Wall set for another visit to Kansas?

I just read a snipit from jayhawkslant.com about the possibility of John Wall making a return visit to K.U..  I am wondering if this is true or not?  I know the recruitment of Wall in the past has been a bit of a heated debate of how good in fact he would be for Kansas. How big of a recruting battle win would it be to get Wall despite loosing Henry?  Even though Wall will be a one in done player, I can see nothing but upside for having Wall in crimson and blue.  Imagine a player with Wall's ability to create baskets and feed the rock to post players like the Morris twins, Robinson, Little, and Aldrich (if he sticks around).  What do you guys think?
