RE: qb play is a hideous, clueless nightmare. coaching allows said nightmare to continue. both are tearing the program and Vol Nation to pieces.

BACKSTORY: i have lived in Atlanta for 28 years, but spent many summers in the great state of Tennessee. when i watched baseball, it was either Cubs or Braves, so i'm a fan of both teams (funny how baseball suddenly got a toe back in the door of the fall football cave). as i learned more of the Cubs and their history of woe and misery, i appreciated the fans always there in the stands, cheering. they might mule 'n puke, but always cheered for the team.

REC.- read the article in sept. 29 issue of SI about the cubbies, especially segment 3 - scar tissue ( Fred Speck rules!) and segment 4- fiesta.

the season is what it is, for reasons listed above. as fans, we can't decide who is the coach and qb, at least not as easily as we can change ourselves. instead of turning on each other and our players and coaches (#8 may be excluded), we might as well show some class and cheer for our team. let's not run any more potential recruits away from Rocky Top.

i certainly am not advocating we become the SEC Cubs (lovable losers), but we might take a few pointers from the fans on the north side of Chicago. lord knows, we got enough 'shine to drink ourselves happy (or oblivious) in relation to play on the field.

let's be loud for the right reasons next saturday, no matter the outcome.

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

F@$$#%&^ng ORANGE PANTS: REVISITED

i have let it be known, once or twice, her and there, how i feel about the orange pants. i truly despise them. how i wish we wore them today, so that i might have an arbitrary reason for blame.

can't really put this on coaching, though. i have voiced my opinion on the head coach position ( change time), but coaches do not throw or hand the ball off. the QB is a SERIOUS issue. i refuse to believe the backups are less prepared than #8. jeez, even some defensive players (honestly, just YOU, Saint Berry) could achieve similar if not better success than what has been on display. sure, #8 showed some toughness running, but the decision- making was an atrocity. perhaps Coach Fulmer should have pulled him, perhaps he was giving #8 enough rope to hang himself ( although at cost of a VERY PLAUSIBLE W). on second thought, no clean pass for coaching, after all.

#8 is terrible and we can't accomplish anything on offense until we can move the ball with accurate passing and good rushing (read: actually accomplishing hand-offs). and where were the TEs, today? seems, to me, they might be useful.

it was nice to see some better punting, today. with the return of Colquitt next week, will we have a "punter controversy"? if it's that and no "QB controversy" (preferably a switch), i'm going to throw a brick at the first pumpkin i see.

my silver lining this week ( and season) is, aside from defensive punting improvements, has been RTT. i would like to say thanks Joel and Hooper for all their hard work, great analysis, and sense of humor. thanks to all the bloggers as well for sharing the pain and still cheering loud. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

the season is a wash. i'll still be watching and cheering from home. the way some of our fans have conducted themselves, i am unfortunately and sadly looking forward to my one game per season, against USC, being on the road. i don't know if i could take the boo's and early exits. better a stadium half full of true fans than that pile of horse hockey behavior.

i think i will get myself a Big Orange related tattoo tomorrow. but you can bet it won't be those @!%$^&* orange pants.

end of line, programs. (sorry, i watched Tron this week.)

i am tired. tired of the " bad feeling", from myself and from Vol Nation concerning the upcoming opponent. SICK AND TIRED! i realize we have seen a myriad of concerns through the first two games. so what. SO EFFIN' WHAT! we are NOT the UT Cromptons, the UT Mustang Package, the UT adjustments-what adjustments, etc.

WE ARE TENNESSEE GOD(expletive) FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!

it's time to believe. BELIEVE! who else but us (the players, the coaches, the Vol faithful) can change anything, if we do not first believe we can change? stand up, coaches-believe in our talent and gameplan. get 'em out there and ATTACK FIRST! don't wait to see what "they" do before deciding what "we" do. stand up, players-you were chosen to play for Tennessee, believe there is reason why! play hard! play tough! play BIG ORANGE FOOTBALL! VOL FANS-BELIEVE!!! be loud, the whole freakin' game! go into that great Neyland Stadium with the idea, the feeling, the assurance that we will be victorious! it's OUR HOUSE! do NOT let our greatest volume be that for booing our own team (seriously, that was sad, last saturday)! how intimidating would it be if 100,000 plus chanted ROCKY TOP over and over all game (great idea, Hooper). don't give the gators a moment of peace!

it is the great thing about college football: anything can happen! otherwise, we can just let BcS computers decide for all (coaches, players, fans) who is better, who will win. and we can all have quiet, peaceful mundane Saturdays in the fall. we can accept that Tebow is Superjesus and Urbs is the new evil genius. oh yeah, i guess u.f.'s #51 is right, and we should just quit, again.

ARE YOU #$*&## *(&&^% +@!&** KIDDING ME!??!?

we must do all we can! everyone- top to bottom- BELIEVE WE CAN AND WILL WIN THIS GAME! let Smokey pee on the gators' team bus! have Jackson donkey-kick a stuffed gator through the uprights! have Al Wilson get in EVERYBODY'S face before the game, during the game, at halftime, whenever it's needed! WE MUST BELIEVE!!!

what does it say above the door? it says " I WILL GIVE MY ALL FOR TENNESSEE TODAY!"

i BELIEVE that means ALL of us. GIVE 'EM HELL TENNESSEEE & GO BIG ORANGE

okay, we all know it comes down to execution and taking care of the ball ( and we had problems with both).but, the orange pants? c'mon, we're going to wear the effin', bleepin' orange pants? in the first game? i know those evil leggings did not cause foster to hold the ball like a dirty diaper at the six. they did not give a free pass to UCLA's special team players into our punter's face, make crompton appear to be throwing cinder blocks into the turf, or steal a safety & miss an ineligible down field(thankyou, zebras). the pants can't be held accountable for a lack of adjustments in all phases, can they? is it first game jitters? is it bugs in a new system that just need to be worked out? is it just more of the same old, sameold? hmmm...i blame those d@#n pants(for now).
