Just How Much of a Rat Is Tejada, Really?

This New York Times article is absolutely breathtaking.

It suggests the depths of Miguel Tejada's corruption are so deep, so pervasive, that his entire career may be a fraud.

It suggests, for example, that he and countryman Tony Batista dogged it on defense when the other hit a pop fly or grounder.

It suggests Tejada tipped pitches and took tips in return.

And it says many of his teammates suspected it and at one point things almost boiled over.

We already know Tejada:

1) Plead guilty to lying to ~~federal investigators~~ Congress about steroids and

2) Juiced himself and

3) Rafael Palmeiro continues insist he unwittingly took Tejada 'roids

The Palmeiro allegations seem outlandish. We all know this. But there is an overall trend line here. And it doesn't look good for Tejada.

This New York Times story -- if any of it is true -- suggests Tejada has stooped to the some of the lowest depths possible by a ballplayer.

What's your take? I say .... the truth is out there and it's getting uglier by the year. .

Wayward O is not a mathematician, however, with 15 days left in season, it appears to be impossible for the Traitor-in-Pinstripes to stagger over the line with his first 20-win season.

I admit it's very hard to win 20 games in a season. And that's why it's so important for a pitcher to do it if he wants serious consideration for the HOF.

That's really all I have to say but I'm not sure If I typed 75 words yet. So let me say that, in addition to hot dogs, I also like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches quite a lot.

Wayward O must say there were MANY Os fans represented at l'estad d'Janki last night to witness massive drubbing. Amazing displays of skill on D and O from B-Rob, Jones, Millar and everybody else. And Guts was magnificent. Not to mention a facade-smash from Aubrey. There were definitely signs of things to come!! Enjoy!!

this flowchart helps express feelings about team.

it kind of omits several key players but other players .... well you know they're kind of metaphors for other players. not unlike the way dip n dotz are a metaphor for life itself. you know ... sometimes it's cool and refreshing and sometimes it's sticky and melty and really expensive. but either way it's life's rich pageant. complex and layered like our beloved game.
