Rams fan since they arrived in STL. Got to watch them play the Super Bowl while I was over in Florence, Italy in a room full of people rooting for the Titans. Sweet, sweet victory followed by several years of mediocrity (at best; only exception was being NFC champs 2 years after). Always chat back and forth about football with a good buddy who's a Pittsburgh fan. Been telling him not to hog all the trophies.
Moderate baseball Cardinals fan. Would love to watch them more if it were a full contact sport.
Hockey? What's hockey? (Not a big fan of teams going on strike/lockout/whatever you want to call it.)

Why, Torry, why?
Sad. I know he needs a paycheck (just like the rest of us); and I know there are a limited number of teams in the league from which to receive offers; but why does he have to sign with a team that's only second on my hate list to the Seachickens?
I'm having a moment of silence now for the end of his career(I'm not counting this year based on who he's playing for). You were a great man, Torry Holt.
An end to blackouts?
The St. Louis Post Dispatch has this article talking a bit about how KC representative Jason Holsman is pushing along a bill to take away state funding if the NFL blacks out any games.
I particularly like this quote:
"If this (current) policy worked, the games would be sold out every time," Holsman said.
I know that (living in Columbia, MO, 2 hours from downtown St. Louis) I don't make it a point to drive to the Rams game and spend a day there if I can't watch it on TV. I'd love to, but if I were wanting to go to (and able to afford) the game to watch the Rams lose, I would. My Sundays usually consist of getting some work done around the house before and after the game. Once I start making the big bucks, I plan to be at all the games I can; however at this point, it's just not feasible, and it takes some work to keep up with my team on those days they are blacked out.
The real interesting part about living in Columbia, is we're part of the market for 2 NFL teams that can get blacked out. Yay.
And, as most of us here know, there are ways to watch the game alternatively. Ergo, if I'm not able to see the game on TV with commercials, I'll watch it on the internet without advertisements. I can't see how that's more beneficial to the NFL.
I'm sure that some of you watch on NFL Network or some offshoot that shows you all the games you want to see. Does the blackout have an effect on that?
I'm interested to see if this legislation gets moving and gets the NFL to revise its methods when it comes to encouraging people to watch their local sports team, rain or shine.

Out of curiosity
Has anyone heard much of anything about Clausen's agent? Apparently it's Gary Wichard (whose site can be found here.) All of his clients seem to be on the level, and I don't recall holdouts about any of them, but don't really have the time right now to look it up, either.
I feel like Bradford's agent (Tom Condon, whose best website I could find was a sports directory listing here.) was involved in several more holdouts than Wichard (especially QB holdouts like Quinn and Leinart). I just wonder how much that's going to play into who the Rams choose, and whether they can negotiate a deal prior to the draft, or before training camp, or at all.
Based on what I think I remember (who knows how reliable that is) I do recall Condon's name coming up in tough negotiations, but not Wichard's.
Thoughts?
Carriker to Skins?
I just saw this. I can't say that I'm opposed. Give him back to Haslett who was part of the Three Amigos who drafted Carriker out of position in the first place. My first instinct is to make it happen. My second is to make it happen. My third is to get Carriker out of here and get someone who plays in a position in which they have experience.
I really hope this isn't just rumor fodder. This could get us back to drafting Suh, maybe getting Jason Campbell in return for Carriker, and moving forward.
Ah You lost for season.
I'm not real sure how many more players we can lose to injury and not just have to forfeit the rest of the season.
How long will this last?
That's right, I'm talking about Cris Collinsworth's terribly color commentary.
I watched the game. I enjoyed watching the game. As my interest faded based on timeouts or clarifying calls, I heard commentary that made me yearn for Madden's dulcet tones again. While I don't recall any detailed comments, most of what I recall exiting his oral orifice felt as though he was saying, "Guess who I know?" and "I know football!"; vocabulary from which sounded as though it were taking from a first-grader's five paragraph essay.
Is anybody else already sick of him, too?
Overlooked?
Not because of the stories or intrigue for each team in the league, but mainly for the fact that the Rams aren't included. Every other team in the league is mentioned by name or association. I suppose at a stretch "Seven of eight Super Bowl losers this decade have failed to make the playoffs the following season." counts.
Anybody else feel like the Rams are mostly ignored by the rest of the league?
