Traditions are Important in the SEC  regardless of what Texas A&M brings to the table with its fan base and history, it's not  necessary just to add them  , more isn't necessarily better ,But adding them for the right reason and what makes better sense is to replace Vanderbilt  with A&M .  Vandy is and always will be the Doormat of  the SEC they bring nothing to the table,  they are a home away from home game  In the SEC ,their own fans are normally  out numbered  2 to 1, and even  in the current  ridiculously easy 6 wins and your bowl eligible world we live in Vandy still can't cut the mustard.   Other than producing future CEO's and  padding our conference grade point avg, they simply need to go. The good  part of not keeping Vandy is that it doesn't require The SEC to  add a 14th team  that wouldn't add Tv markets as in Florida St. We already have that in Florida .   " Gen Slive" can simply move Auburn into the East  and  Texas A&M to the West. the pros and cons are easily seen , adding A&M brings tradition  virgin tv markets,and recruiting hot beds in Texas, on the other hand just adding them and Florida St  as a package deal wouldn't do as much for the SEC , by Adding  the Noles  we get an over saturated area with Florida, Florida State,Alabama and Auburn all competing for the same recruits , the bottom line is ,by joining the SEC Fla St improves its recruiting not that they need any help now but in the future they could become irrelevant with a few sub par seasons  if Jimbo Fisher's  coup d'état doesn't work  out . A play here a play there , Alabama is in Arizona this year playing for another National championship , if you look at it objectively LSU  hits two 80 yard plays  for touchdowns ( fluke city)  and we turn the ball over twice to their none that pretty much sealed our fate. Now the next one makes my gag reflex kick in to high gear , We had Auburn down 24 to zip and could have easily had them down 42  to 7 at the half  and lost . And Cow College is playing for the national championship , when is the last time  you seen a National champion  get completely ran out of a stadium like the first half and  still win ? and the one play I think  wins it for them is the Mark Ingram fumble that rolls a foot from the sidelines for fifteen yards and out of the end zone , did you hear what I just said a damn football  the oddest shaped ball in sports rolls straight for fifteen yards if you get Myth Busters at Bryant  Denny and try to duplicate this 8 hours a day for twenty years it couldn't be done again .  Alfy Hill and the coaches who recruited him at Alabama should feel ripped off by the NCAA Gods, all those phone calls ,trips to his home evaluations gone .It really is just a bunch of Bull s#$% , Tim Tebow  gets home schooled and has no problem qualifying , this kid takes 2 computer classes administered by teachers in a high school that were deemed accredited by the NCAA Gods months before, yet they have nothing to explain or reevaluate ? Alfy has already made 2 B's and an A over the summer while working out in Tuscaloosa and the sole purpose for the clearing house  is to make sure the kids can actually do the work in college  . I don't think the decision maker at the clearing house is intouch with reality but I would  give a $100 dollar reward to find the name and address  of this person who actual made it. I would hope that someone gets embarrassed at  the very least for making such an idiotic call.

I have been watching Alabama football since the sixties and I know for a fact that our jerseys have gone from crimson to red , just check out old photos or films and you can see for yourself.  The other thing that I hate is the names on the back of the jersey , I realize it has a recruiting benefit to show the kids their name on the back and all but , I think given a vote the players and fans would rather have real crimson colors and no names . What a great game to record in High def , this game ranks up there with the Miami ass beating 20 years ago . don't forget to record it. I recently  talked to one of my cousins who is an Auburn fan about our upcoming family reunion, we briefly talked about getting old and matching wits at the poker table ,   BBQ ,  just  small talk, then in the midst of our conversation I had flashbacks of  "fear the thumb" and " it's rolling baby it's rolling "  He regularly made fun of Mike Shula's Jumbo package , ( I did too ) you know the formation ran by his dad at the  Miami Dolphins   that never worked for Alabama , Well  I took out the knife, and  a gun while  ending the pleasant conversation and said as politely  and sincere as possible  "  When I see you this summer I'll bring over one of my National Championship cups  so you can drink out of it  since you don't have any , and I have 13 " of course this was received as it was intended  , like a baseball bat to the face and as I was hanging up the phone I heard all the cussing and war eagle crap causing  me several minutes of joy combined with  a warm fuzzy feeling  that swept over my body thinking of my  upcoming family reunion,

Here it is a couple weeks removed from Alabama winning number 13  and  Kevin has found a nugget , a crumb on the floor , to feed his inner Auburn ego , and make him and all the Barners feel better . The same thing happens when someone buys a Hummer , gets a pierced nose or  colors  their hair purple , all they're really saying is LOOK at ME ! LOOK at ME ! , I'm somebody .  I don't know about you but Auburn's " chip on the shoulder " attitude is getting old.

                       Kevin  would you  also " concur "   that  Auburn not to mention the rest of the SEC benefited  greatly from Alabama's probation for at least half the decade ?, Auburn's 7-3 record vs Alabama in the decade is a direct result of  a certain fat ass's (Phillip Fulmer )  testimony and unbiased  ( I'm sure ) account  of Alabama's recruiting habits. 

Well the way I see the decade , Auburn won the battle ,Alabama won the war. One had the best  ten years of it's programs existence , claiming two Western division titles,and an SEC Championship ,  the other had arguably the worst , drudging through probation, and  was still able to claim two western division titles and an SEC Championship , a National Championship . a Butkus Award winner, Outland winner and a Heisman trophy winner

If Auburn had the best decade of the two , it certainly doesn't appear they have very much to show for it.   One things for sure and I'll bet Kevin will concur with me, the best program in the state  by far is Alabama.

Maybe Notre Dame has the right Idea, after All what Kind of deal do you think Alabama could get from say CBS to televise all our games say for the next ten years ? Well Notre Dame got $38 million for five years from NBC, and averages 1.5 million to 3.5 million viewers per game.since 1991. Could Bama get  $20 , $30 million a year ? And I think we could easily match  the Viewers.

                                    I know it'll never happen but for fun what kind of numbers do you think Alabama would negotiate to televise all our games ?.  Some of The pros ,We would Easily be CBS's " eye candy " on Saturday's and  considering the travel habits of the Tide's fans, a sought after treasure by the BCS every year.giving the Tide an unfair advantage before the win loss totals come into play.  I can hear the BCS  selection committee now, discussing a future Orange bowl  Match up   " well we have a 12-1 Boise or a  10 -2  Alabama  , Lets see ....30,000 fans vs 5,000,  easy decision. it'll never happen but......... John Wooden won 7 national titles in a row at UCLA  from 1967 to 1973 , I know , your thinking that's basketball , not football , what would it take to win that many National Championships in a row  in football  ?, besides a lot of luck, the school  must have the resources to recruit nation wide , Check that one, Alabama could buy a plane for every coach on staff to recruit with, they definitely  have the cash.  The school must  also be ready for prime time ,as in television  exposure,  to garner the attention of the recruits , check, Alabama gets almost as much air time as Notre Dame enough said. The facilities have to be top notch , in order to close the deal with the recruits , they want to see the weight room, dinning hall,dorm  rooms, lockers and the stadium , check,check,check,check and check.  Dr. Witt and Mal Moore along with countless boosters and Alumni have created the best over all facilities in the country  , nothing can compare. Now you must have a" recruiting machine" a tireless  coach who lives eats and sleeps recruiting , then be able to teach and coach ,  well we have it all in Saban and if anyone could win 7 in  a row it's Nick Saban at Alabama.

Tic toc ,tic toc , Like a time bomb ticking down  in a quite room, waiting for  a big bang , fans are gonna get impatient, coaches are going to  start sweating ,and making mistakes on Saturdays , one loss here,  another there. then word leaks that assistants are  calling around looking for old friends, former bosses , anybody, hoping to land on their feet, if and in some cases when  the bomb will explode.  Only 8 months till next season gets underway in the SEC and  There are plenty of hot seats to go around , several SEC coaches could catch some fatal shrapnel  , and when things are shaky to begin with ( Georgia LSU ), the fuses seem to be shorter , it could be a couple bad calls that causes the first loss , then 2 or 3 injuries for  the next one  , a  costly turnover here ,and a 4 star prospect turns you down there , next thing you know you get  a  "vote of confidence", from the athletic director, the fuse is lit , and everyone is running for cover .

Take LSU 's Les Miles, if he goes 8 and 4 next year , he's gone , period ,end of story,This  guy had a chance to go back to the Big Ten ( more like the Big 2 or 3 )  and be Michigan's coach , after  inheriting  the best talent this side of  the pro bowl , and winning  probably the most unlikely National Championship there will ever be in the BCS system .with two conference losses.........No he  didn't  make the move, and that was a bad  move , because now he's gonna get fired and moving is better than getting fired, his ego will take a blow when  the likes of La tech or Iowa State type jobs have him on a short list. But  Hell  I think he's doing all right for someone, who is as unbalanced  as he is.

Mark Richt 's  New defensive coaches, shouldn't buy a house right now,or send for their families,they'll tell the wives " renting a studio apt  would be the smart choice for a year, because the market is crazy right now ." ( wink wink ) , The coaches still  in Athens,  have already gotten appraisals on their homes, not to mention their long distance phone bills are way up. Mark could be the first to go down.  He will have a difficult , time getting it turned around as quick as the Bulldog fans want it turned around .I feel the " Black Out " was the beginning of the end  for him,( what an ass whipping ). If I'm forced to bet my life on who gets fired first it's gotta be Mark, with big hat next.

Just because Saban can recruit like his hair is on fire. doesn't mean losing good players  doesn't hurt sometime, Kareem Jackson is gone so is Ro they will be missed.
 Well in all fairness the rules should allow you an extra scholarship , should you loose a underclassmen to the NFL ,of course your talking about the NCAA, so fair doesn't come into play,.......... So you recruit  a good player you coach  him up ,   he leaves you early , causing  a program  to be short handed at  that  specific position. Should the signing limits be 25  plus 1 for every junior you lose . ? I think so. 

Take this scenario player is recruited , comes in and helps with special teams as a freshman, as a sophomore he still helps on special teams just can't quite get on the field, now he's a Junior breaks   into the playing rotation , and  has a great second half of the season , gets some NFL attention and is considered a 2nd  or 3 rd rounder  , he opts out for the big league , leaving a team that was counting on him  to  make  a contribution to the team as a Senior  ......., but their gone.and I don't blame the players,after all they have been training and,studying on and off the field  for most of their lives ,  but maybe the  NFL could pay the university a percentage of the juniors contract ,say 25 %  for taking away ,or depleting that particular programs ability to win .Anyway it does seem like the university  gets shorted a bit. With  that being said good luck Kareem, and Rolando.

I hope SEC commissioner  mike Slive can do more than give lip service about the up coming  2010 Schedule which puts Alabama in a real disadvantage, and to go a step further didn't anyone in Slive's office notice this obvious Bull shit.?  The mere fact that it went unnoticed is a much bigger story . The SEC Executive Associate Commissioner Mark Womack, who acts as the league's long-term schedule maker, better get his shit together or he will get his ass thrown out of that cushy office, with perks any SEC fan would trade their soul for , here  are a few perks that will get your attention, first class accommodations and tickets to the biggest games  every year including this years SEC Championship game, BCS  National Championship game all with reservations in  Swanky hotel rooms from New Orleans to Pasadena , 1st class airline tickets, the best  restaurants,and you can bet your ass he isn't renting a smart car with that Visa card with the SEC logo on it and all paid  for by the blood sweat and tears of the kids who play  the game and the fans who buy the  tickets . If he was on top of his job , then it wouldn't be an issue .The fact that the   long term scheduler  for the SEC DIDN'T NOTICE ! 6 teams had a bye week before playing Alabama in 2010 suggest he either didn't care, or he didn't notice,  I suppose by his failure to act before hand he wasn't going to do a thing about it until fans , News papers and now Mal Moore started bringing attention to it , in other words  he wasn't doing his job. The SEC office should have brought attention to this matter to begin with to at least give the impression that they give a shit. here are the teams with bye weeks in 2010 ,  Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn .

Can you tell me one coach in the SEC who is comfortable right now ? Nick Saban is not comfortable and that means no coach in the SEC  is or should be. Saban  is coaching like his life depends on it, because that is what makes him click ,that's what he likes, if it wasn't for the aggravating senseless press conferences after practices,which are unnecessary  as hell and the two interviews at half time, one with the sideline reporter and then   for the radio  and after games, all the stupid speeches  he's obligated  to give as Alabama's head coach , he would probably enjoy it more. Maybe Mal  can give him a press secretary to handle all the incidentals and let  him just coach. 

Lane is gone lol he is stupid beyond his years, Les Miles is insane, even if he has in his words " a damn fine football team ", Urban is in the fetal  position,sucking his thumb, looking forward to giving another great half time interview at Bryant Denny (urban speechless) Mark Richt is firing everyone the Athletic director tells him to, the old ball coach is worried about his short game, Houston Nutt  can't get enough players,  that leaves Petrino who is probably the second best coach in the league , and . Mean Jean Cheznic at Auburn he's about as good as They can get, if he can produce 7 and 5 records every other year  that will be good enough for them. , MS State's Dan Mullen would be on my short list if I were Tennessee,  he will have decent teams at State but the recruiting challenge there  would make a preacher cuss. oh then there is Vanderbilt , all I can say is they're   smart .

 I have looked and I can't seem to find it, although listening to Eli doesn't actually tell you how many yards the runner has rushed for during a run or where the receiver is on the field when he catches it until the play is over, but  I still like to hear the descriptions and his enthusiasm . He had Saban's talent stockpiled when he got there , to the point  that the NFL scouts rented houses instead of hotel rooms, to watch practice and  I really believe  Auburn's Doug Barfield  could have won with that talent.  They are  definately self checked.

When we win the National Championship , as Forest  Gump would say aaaagain and we bring home the trophy aaaagain  ,  I hope everyone meets the team at the airport to congratulate them, and even bring your dimwitted  Auburn friends, so  they  will have a chance to see what that experience feels like ,  just tell them to be quite and wear shoes.and just for shits and giggles ,tell them to wear their fear the other hand shirts .

 With only 19,000 allotted tickets for each school , coupled with the fact it takes a lot of cash just to get there and back , it only seems logical that most fans making the trip are a little older, more financially secure and  reserved in their demeanor. Well, we need you to drink that second, expensive, large cup of cappuccino ,coffee ( caffeinated )  make sure you take your diet pills , and bring your A game , make noise when Texas has the ball ,make noise  period , don't set on your hands and  let the 5 thousand kids do all the work , get off your  asses, scream, holler, shout, " if it means something to you , you can't stand still "  and don't act like your at the damn Hollywood Bowl watching  a ballet .

I don't care who's ass you have to kiss, how many meetings it takes with the  "Coal Barons " in the Drummond coal company, if you need to charge $ 10 bucks a head more, for home games , have a damn telethon on every television channel in the state just DO IT !   The man deserves to be the highest paid coach in the country , and if he's not, it will reflect negatively and show a lack of commitment , I know he already makes a ton of twenty dollar bills every month,  but he makes the university much more than you pay him.but  make his pay  commensurable , the-best deserves the best .
