Definition of Beaker:

A derogatory name for a KU fan.

It was there during all those years Missouri basketball coach Norm
Stewart refused to spend money in Kansas during road trips. It was
there during Fambrough's playing career when the temperature dipped
into the single digits on Thanksgiving 1946 in Columbia. There were no
stores open so Kansas coach George Sauer sent young Fambrough over to
the Missouri equipment manager for anything that could be used to keep the Jayhawks warm.    

"He said, 'I ain't giving you s---," Fambrough said.

We were jumping up & down in our garage (our drinking and {former} smoking lounge) and running to the teevee inside the housee to watch it in High Def.

Mike Anderson's expression is priceless - can hardly believe what he saw. And Denmon just keeps heading for the locker room.

I have watched this video probably twenty times and every time I laugh and raise my hands in the air.

And I know this should be a fan shot but I wanted to do a poll!

But I want to know what is OUR sign?

As many of you know, I am not a Mizzou alum. Neither is the man who brought me into this crazy fandom. But I am originally from Texas, the home of

And as the Missouri football program has flourished, so has their fan base. And the number of Tiger bumper stickers, license plate frames and even tire cases has skyrocketed in the Kansas City area. It is actually very exciting to see. It is even more profound when walking around malls or grocery stores in KC. The Tiger fans seem to outnumber the Beakers (at least in KCMO) which has not always been the case.

When I see someone in person with a hat or a shirt, I always say, "Go Tigers." Sometimes it shocks the person but most times, I get a "Go Tigers" back.

But what do you do when you are in the car? The Longhorns have their sign - what is ours? I don't like to honk (and you know it is against the law to just randomly honk) and sometimes I wave to the point of my children wondering if their mother has gone insane.
