It was an amazing display on Saturday night. The challenger proved to have the exact tools needed to turn a ferocious champion into a purring kitten. No matter what the champ had done in his previous fights, it was of no use on Saturday.
The problem is, what Saturday am I talking about?
The light heavyweight division has been described as a game of musical chairs in the past few years, with only two successful title defenses between a now 6 post Liddell champions. However it became apparent to many fans following Machida’s destruction of Rashad and subsequent loss to Shogun, that it might not be musical chairs, but a different game being played.
The ability to stay at elusive, use of great footwork and superior striking allowed Machida to destroy Rashad Evans in impressive fashion. We would then learn from Shogun that a disciplined, aggressive, straight forward striking approach was what was needed to solve the Machida puzzle. But many, including myself, had already speculated that a dominating wrestler would be able to defeat Shogun.

And here is my prediction for tomorrow.
Shogun Rua and The Art of Destruction
I remember when I first saw it.
I had only been watching MMA a few years, I had heard of Pride but never seen it. I was at Best Buy and "UFC" DVD's were on clearance. One of the DVD's I happen to purchase was "Total Elimination 2005". I got home and put it into my DVD player expecting to see some exciting fights.
What I saw was straight out of a slasher film
Video after the jump.

Cain Valasquez Lugz Commercial
I just saw the commercial, couldn't find it to post but it is on the front of the Lugz home page.

Versus on Directv
I, as I am sure many others are, am very upset that I will not be able to watch the UFC on Versus at home due to Directv's continuing feud with Comcast. I personally don't care who did what or who is to blame. I pay Directv every month for service and am not getting what I originally signed up for. For anyone interested I suggest you go to this address http://support.directv.com/app/ask and send a complaint to Directv. I doubt it will make a difference but it couldn't hurt.

"HE TOOK A SWING AT ME!"
Walking out of the Staples Center Saturday night I felt very uneasy. I, like many, felt that Machida had lost the fight. Rua looked to be in top form. He had an excellent strategy and seamed to have found the cipher that changed Machida from a mysterious puzzle box to a wet paper bag. No disrespect to Machida, he is a great fighter, but he had lost the untouchable aura that had been surrounding him.
I was perked up when on my way to finding a cab when I noticed everyone's favorite corner man, Stitch, hanging out and taking pictures with some fans. I took my place in line and waited to get my own picture when behind me I heard "HE TOOK A SWING AT ME!".
