I just finished reading an article on ESPN from 1/27 about Leinart waiting for his turn in Arizona. It sounds like Arizona is going to push Warner hard to come back with a 2 year deal. If the Chiefs hire Haley (as most expect), do you think he and Pioli might try to pry Leinart away? It sounds as if Leinart is quietly unhappy right now and if he is forced to ride the bench again he might begin to speak up and request a trade. I know it is unlikely that the Cards would want to trade Leinart but it doesn't seem that they are as high on him as they were on draft day 2006.

Now that the A's have signed Giambi, what happens to Barton? It is waaaay to early to give up on him. He had a terrible season statistically and often times looked lost at the plate but looked like he was turning things around over the final month and a half of the season when he batted .309/.412. Do the A's platoon him at 1st with Giambi, send him back down to AAA for more work or do they trade him?

I think the best thing for him would be to spend time with Giambi and learn what he can from him. AAA might damage him and his confidence and trading him could be a huge mistake, one that they might regret for years because I think his value is kinda low right now. What do you think is going to happen to this former star in the making?

is it just me or is it crazy that a guy drafted just 3 months ago has already been called up to the show? He has 24 games of professional experience at 3B with  numbers that are far from impressive. I just dont see why any team would call someone up so quickly. Has anyone heard about this possibly happening or seen this before with a position player? I know its been done with relievers but i dont recall any position players.

Here's the story

Daric Barton has been on fire as of late. Over his last 13 games he has hit .386 with a .454 obs 1 2b, 1 3b, 4 hr and 11 rbi. Has he finally turned the corner and made the proper adjustments/gained health? Or is this just a fluke? I know its only a few games but it has to count for something right? As you can see all i have is questions...
