Favorite NFL Draft publications?

Every year, I find myself buying one or two of those NFL Draft annuals (you know, the ones in magazine or newspaper format) to edumacate myself on the talent pool, since I'm not familiar with most college-level players. There must be a half dozen or more of those publications out there nowadays, and I thought it might be interesting to find out what everyone else reads.

Which annuals do youse guys prefer (and why)? Personally, I have come to favor the USA Today Sports Weekly annual, for no other reason than its later publication date (and thus presumably more up to date info).

Those things cost what, $7 or $8 a clip now? Buying up a bunch of them gets expensive after a while. Perhaps our Falcoholic community opinions may save someone from buying a turkey of a magazine (and there are PLENTY of them out there, believe me).

At last, the Falcons are finally starting the process of getting some value for Dog-Boy and closing the book on a sad chapter in Falcons history. Let's get it over with, the sooner the better.

Personally, I think he's a soulless scumbag of a human being, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure we all share the hope that he experiences all the success he deserves with his new team. Cheers!

Excellent news, fellow Falcons fans! We've moved ahead of Dallas in the Wild Card hunt by virtue of the Cowboys' loss to the Ravens Saturday night. The Falcons now control their own playoff destiny! If we win out against the Vikings and Rams, we're in, period. Woo hoo!

It's not like the Vikings game wasn't significant already, but isn't it even more important now? Short of a playoff game, I can hardly imagine a game with two teams having more to play for. Go Falcons!

Falcons TV programming alert

Friday night (the 19th) at 9:00 ET on NFL Network, they're showing the 1999 NFC Championship Game between the Falcons and the Vikings. (Replay at 2:30 am ET) Run time is 3.5 hours so apparently it's not a highlight film, it's the whole game. I've never seen the whole thing replayed before. DOWN, you goosebumps!

For those of you who weren't fortunate enough to see it ten years ago, do yourselves a favor and watch or record it. This was unquestionably the most significant postseason win in Falcons history, and one of the most exciting games you'll ever see. Our comeback was absolutely amazing, literally one for the ages. Chris Chandler may not have been the best QB that ever played, but on that day he, and the whole team, truly had the heart of a lion.

Irons is more of a special teams guy but he'll still be missed. We're not blessed with tons of depth in the secondary or special teams to begin with. Shazbot!
