Madden Players for the Ps3 online?

Brothers in Arms,

Is there anyone who plays Madden 08 online for the Ps3? I just got the system and the game yesterday. I know that the new one is coming out really soon, but it would be cool to play with fellow Bleedinggreen members. I have the bluetooth so we even could talk the Birds! Hit me up.... I am not currently any good, but I will get better every week, so play me now because the longer you wait, well you get the point.

Here is a link to a very good article about Andy Reid and the Eagles for the future. I think if this future is going to be bright we need to cut Reid's power. He isn't the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to picking talent to play on his football team.

I feel as a coach you create a special bond with players and that directly hurts his job as a GM. He likes Donovan Mcnabb,Reno Mahe as a person. Scott Young, G.Lewis etc.... If you have all this power and influence it just makes your life harder and it will eventually make you a less effective coach. I think that this has happened already.

John Smallwood agrees with me and he adds

"I think being the coach and top player-personnel guy is too much power and responsibility for one person"

"I think Reid's belief that his system is so good that it does not require superstar playmakers, except at quarterback, has prevented him from making acquisitions that might have won a Super Bowl."

In SanFran the Niners just cut Nolans power off and hired a real GM. We will see what happens. I just don't understand why more work for Reid will make the team better??? WTF? In life I feel that the ying and the yang works best in evey facet of life. Why should it be any different in the Eagles front office? Does all this player evaluation, contract mumbo jumbo and all the extra stress make Reid better at the X's and O's part of the game?

Mcnabb vs Elway

Does anybody remember when John Elway was going through the same shit that Mcnabb is going through?I was really small but I can recall Dan Reeves being the coach and he was talking about letting Elway go, and they even drafted Tommy Maddox in 1992 in the 1st round! What happened? Maddox shared time with Elway in 1992, played in 13 games and had less than 1000 YD's passing! Tommy Maddox came out of UCLA, he was drafted Higher than Kevin Kolb and didn't endup being the replacement. Why did the Bronco's want to replace Elway? Agian I was 9 years old but I think they said that he played on the edge, Throwing to many INT's and forcing too much. Looking at Elway's stats we will compare him to Mcnabb. It shows that Elway throws tons more INT's than MCnabb.

I'm not a huge stat guy but you guy's love them. So the only thing I can say is that Mcnabb has less YDS, Ints and His TD's are right there.

I guess alot of people forget this about Elway. He took them to the Superbowl and lost to the Dynasty team in the 1980's that nobody beat the Niners w/(Joe"Cool"Montana). I think everyone would agree that we have a dynasty team that beat us and keeps winning the Pats w/(Tom"Cool"Brady). I really don't understand what local writers, Local Fans, WIP and natonal media is talking about. Mcnabb is having a bad year. Period. Our team isn't all that any way as we have learned. But QB's Like Elway, Farve, Cunningham, Gannon, Chandler, Brees, etc.. have come back from adversity and have played the at the highest level. I think when you think of them specific QB's I think of the skill players that they had. Elway had Smith, Mccaffterty, Sharpe, Davis. Farve has a bunch of young play makers finally. Cunnningham had Moss, Carter, Smith, Gannon had Rice, Porter, Brown. Chandler had Mathis, Dwight, Santiago, Anderson
Brees had Henderson, Bush, Colston, Copper and Horn.

Ok here's a real question? Who do we have to help Mcnabb? For real? It's not a whole lot. We have to get more players to help him. What would happen if we drop Mcnabb and go with Kolb? Kolb prolly will not have the same group of skill players so comparing will be tuff. We know that most Qb's don't make it to Mcnabb's level. Next year I will be shocked if we have such a weak offense. Brown and Curtis are great complemetry players we need to upgrade at TE and WR. This can happen too. This isn't baseball like Andrew reminded us that teams go from worst to first all the time!

Lastly in my last rant I said that we like blue collar, screamer types. We do. Mcnabb is himself and no one can change that. I think to myself what would happen if a city asked me to be cool calm type guy knowing that I'm a screamer. I couldn't change what I was so why would we ask MCnabb to do the same.Ask yourself the same question. The bottom line is John Elway had the same shit happen to him Minus the injuries, he took his team to the Superbowl and lost. He got help from his GM to get him playmakers and he rallied his career to end up with 2 superbowls. Why? Because he was a above average QB (with and this is important) playmakers surrounding him. We need to do them same.

I couldn't agree more, I want the Eagles to win. I can happen, but our coach will have us in trips and 4 Wr sets getting our team destroyed and ruined for the rest of the year. I hope that Lurie will walk over to the Crafts owners box and get a few pointers on how to build a championship winning team, not a Cap friendly, Draft pick squandering, No Coach having excuse for a GOLD STANDARD!!! Two Wild Cards in the NFC East???

Well that was what everyone has been asking for, give the ball the to the running back and win the game on the the strength of our offensive line. I liked it, and I liked what our D has been doing as well. I hope that Mikkell is OK case JR Reed is a corny ass player in my opinion.

Here it is the Cowboys are looking really good on offense and they have a big time lead in the East so I hope that they keep winning and eat up our division title. It is whats going to happen so we have to look at it for it's face value. Then comes the GMEN they are 7-3 and very average but I don't know if we can catch up to them they have a pretty easy scedule left. They have the Vikings,Bears,Eagles,Skins,Bills and Pats. I think that they should be at least 3-3 with a total of 10 wins at least. So we have to root for all the divison leaders to keep winning and the teams that we are fighting are as follows:

1.Detriot
2.Redskins
3.Cardinals
4.Eagles
5.Carolina
6.New Orleans
7.Minnesota
8.Chicago

So we would be looking at
Dallas
Greenbay
Seattle
Bucs* prolly toughest to win divison
All in and we could have Gmen and Eagles make the playoffs in two wild card spots.

The Eagles will need to win 4 out of 6 and I think that we could make it!!!! I know I'm crazy but last year Garcia did it so I think we can do it agian.

Buffalo Win for a outstanding 9-7 record!! Horray for the NFC South being weak this year!!!

What does everyone think of this?? If Reid and Co can dumb down the offense and the D can play at this level we can use a power running game to slow down the games and give us a better shot like they did after Mcnabb left the game? Why not do that when he is in the game???

Check out this article on philly.com. It is what I have been saying for the last 3 weeks. I really think some of you fans are just phantics and really don't know anything about the game of football! Do you not remember what happened last year when we had one of the top offenses in the NFL and Mcnabb was playing out of his mind? I think that most of you must have been too drunk to see what he was doing. Dump him and our team will be in the dumps for years. Plus Kevin Kolb isn't a answer to any problem we have. If you think this is the case what happened when he played in the preseason? Ohh he was playing with the 4th stringers and he still looked really green. Now you want to throw him in with the lions????? Is it me or is that just crazy talk?

Who saw what I just saw? A team playing with no emotion. No drive or desire. But, more importantly not enough talent.
We paid Kevin Curtis 6 years 30 mil.
WhoTF is Kevin Curtis? Why is he our #1 WR? Who's idea was this? Stallworth got a 6 year 33 million contract,
TO has a 3 year 25 million dollar contract, we gave him a 7 year 49 million dollar contract. He just torched our asses for 174 yds. We need a WR like him. Why not pay him? Andy Reid and Joe Banner. Where are we now? No where.

These players are the reason our team don't TO. Why is this? Our Coach and GM Andy Reid. To kick a man when he is down is not my style. So we will roll with the facts. We have a shitty team. Who is responsible for this? Andy Reid What is going to happen? We all know but here is more of a kick to the balls. Our Eagles are worth over a billion dollars and we are in 12th place speading money on our team. Ya'll know the Skins have paid and lost. Like the Yankees and Dallas and Mets and Knicks etc... Who thinks that we should at least pay players $$$ and try to compete? The Pats are paying 123 million dollars for there team, why don't we pay 19 million more and pay idiots like TO and Moss the money the want.

Here are the questions to look at
1.Why do we not pay for players? Like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Cowboy's, Skins, Pat's, Panthers?

Who is accountable for a team playing unemotional football weekin and weekout? I say the Coach!
Why do we have Kevin Curtis a slot WR at best playing the X spot?

4.Why is Sean Considine starting?
5.Why is Gaither being paid like a back up? Less than Max Gean Whoever?
6.Why do the Eagles run 3WR's and not throw deep?
What is the point of bunch formations? Here's a hint it is a cleaver ploy to get untalented WR's a chance to compete, running great route combo's.7.Why are unproven young WR,C,G, paid long term high year contracts? What good has come of this? It cloggs our cheap wallets from paying Stallworth and TO money.8.DId you know that the Pats and Colts are really good? They both have 2 Top Wr's on the team? WHy can't we have that? Ohh Andy Reid agian. Ohh Jeff Lurie.9. Why does Andy Reid get respect for winning 0 championships? See Joe Torre....

Why can't we win anything? Like AROD or TO or MOSS or SHAQ etc.......

Eagles are talking about swagger and Attitude

For the Eagles fans on this site that love stats and BS like that this you might not understand what the Eagles have started to talk about. Look in today's paper,

"Like Brian Westbrook and Dawkins, McNabb talked extensively yesterday about swagger. He readily acknowledged that the Eagles don't have the edge that they did in 2004, when they constantly exerted their offensive will on opponents"

I've argued that the Eagles don't play with enough attitude and emotion. Well I guess one of the players look at the site. Just kidding. I've read both of MJ's books, Bruce Lee's book's, been in the Marine Corps in Iraq, played years of organized football, and I am aspiring boxer. It is all about attitude. At the NFL level everyone can play. Flat out we see it time and time agian when a powerhouse team like the 98 Bronco's getting gashed for 275 Rushing yds and getting beat up by a terrible Cinci team. Or last year when the Colts got bitchslapped by Freddie T and Jones-Drew. When you look at the Eagles past succes it has been about attitude.

One [thing] probably would be that everybody [in 2004] trusted each other to go do their job and make plays, for everybody to have confidence in each other stepping out on the field. I think it's not just one particular player. I think everybody began to just feed off of each other. We have to be able to do that at this point." This is the job of Coaches! Why would someone get paid 5 million dollars a year not be able to inspire Pro Athletes to play hard and be able to count on everyone else? Has anyone ever played on a team that was really good and then have to play on a team that sucked or was underacheiving? I have and there's a huge difference in attitude. When we ran through Dallas last Christmas the running plays were Iso's and counter play's and aggressive zone runs. Not this delayed misdirection, or a stupid quick hitting plays. I'm not talking about never using them but you need to sprinkle them in with a bit of 6'7 350 running at a LB to be most succesful. So, in conclusion we have seen and will see what Eagles team shows up Sunday night. A Football team that has attitude of shark that MJ talks about or playing with a Scientific approach that has landed our asses in last place and desperate. If Jeff Garcia can be successful because his intent was to play with all his heart and soul, and leave it on the field every sunday. I'm sure that we can surround Mcnabb with players that will have attitude and call plays that will show the Cowboy's will still mean business!!!!! GO EAGLES!!

Well the Eagles are doing what they do best....loseThey are alway's going to break our hearts, But, we will keep rooting for them! Let's get to it.... Andy Reid is the problem. He gives tons of money to unproductive players and he is too stubborn to accept the fact that he was wrong.The bad news first..Kearse is done he has tons of money and all he does is get cut by a tackle or running back and Reid sees that he can drop back into the flats as a dynamic trait and keeps him around. Darren Howard is done. He has yet to live up to his contract. Jerome Mcdougle is still on the Roster!!!WTF??? Greg Lewis?? He is a millionaire WR in the NFL could have fooled me. Reno MAHE???? WTF? Hank BAskett? I'm not a stat guy but what is he doing on the team? He is terrible. Sean Constiodine or whatever his name is not a NFL starter! Correl Buckhalter was a great back 4-5 years ago. I love what Buck has done and represents, but when we don't have a #2 RB that we can give the ball to and not worry about injury we have to move on. That's why we don't run the ball is because Andy don't want to hear it if Buck was hurt. Todd Herrimans,Jamal Jackson, Reggie Brown have huge contracts they got them when they were still young unproven players. Now that they have loot they are complacent and don't have anyfire. These are all the responsiblity of the GM. But we don't have one Tom Heckart is a idiot. We need the old GM we had from Pittsburg. I forget his name.
Coaching....... Reid is not a top level coach. When he had all of his success it was because of the the Rey Rhodes D that was already here. I must say that I understand that in the NFL you need alot of different threats so that the D can't key on one thing. I understand that, and I agree with him. But, having no WR with RAC ablitiy in the West Coast offense is counter to what the West Coast O is IMO. We have BWEST, and tyhe rest are very average. Reid has done this for his entire tenure. PINKSTON, THRASH, SMALLS, MITCHELL, have been our WR's. Why? Because Reid wants a good oline for Mcnabb and spread the ball around. This can happen,2004 and last year but you need a top 3 QB for this, Mcnabb is not himself and it will take a year for him to get there. Overall Reid has been arogant and stubboorn for too long he needs to go. Lastly, Mcnabb is a BAdass QB!!! Do you not remmember last year???????????WTF? He was looking like old Brett Farve and Steve Young! He is coming off of majot knee surgury! Kolb is unproven. Why would you roll the dice on this? If you think that this is smart I think that you are crazy! Ried let's his QB off ACL tear throw the ball 40+ times in like 3 out of 6 games? Not really smart. IF and I really mean If the Eagles coaches start to take what the other teams give them they can come back. the Cowboy's are not all that. The Skins are a good team that can be beaten and the Giants are playing really out of character. It can happen but it starts and finishs with Big REd.
