I've seen a number of posts: The Kings should look for a big, or for a SF, or for a PG. Here's my feeling: Stand pat. The mid-level guys Petrie's brought in the last few years (Shareef, Beno) have bombed. But they've brought in some potentially effective talent via trades and the draft. 'Cisco has played great at small forward, and with Greene available, they've got two borderline starters--one of whom may emege this year as a legitimate player. Nocioni is a great 6th man, backing up SF and PF. Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes are the frontline of the future, and I hope they bring back Diogu to provide a little depth (and give him a chance to show what he can do). The guard rotation has potential, with K-Mart, Tyreke, Sergio, and Beno. I love the trade for Sergio: Let's see what he can do. They've got one solid SG and three adequate guards: Give one a chance to step up and be special this year. Maybe Tyreke will be good. Add some cheap filler and see what happens.

If the Kings do pursue somebody, I'd like to see them go after a guy like Raymond Felton--a young PG with promise. I'm not sold that Tyreke is that guy, and definitely not in his first year in the league. (I think he's going to end up at SG.) I think Kleiza could be a good addition, at the right price. They could add a guy like Brandon Bass, but he's not going to be a difference maker. Hedo would cost too much, and he's too old for this team. I'd love to see them reach for a guy like Millsap, but that's going to be in the way of JT's development. So yeah, keep the cost structure low, see what you've got, and make a smart trade mid-season to dump Kenny Thomas and add somebody who can contribute if the opportunity comes along.
