Hakeem 'Dream-Shakes' Tim Duncan!?
Read somewhere that the Spurs aren't staying at the Westin Hotel this time around, and instead picked some run-of-the-mill, budget hotel in downtown Memphis.
Think there might be any truth to this?

Corny as can be, but my appreciation for Landry Fields got an uptick after watching this; Poasting and Toasting loved the heck out of it (obvs). I really hope James Dolan and Co. don't screw up what a good thing they got in this kid from Stanford.
Anyway, the BEST PART of the video comes in at 2:03. ::thumbs up::
By the way, which Spurs players do you think could pull off something like this? My vote would go to Gary Neal.
...with thanks to c_deck for posting the hi-res punctuation and jrw for pointing it out to me.
'Chop Contest: Tiago's 'Suit Up' in Basic Black™
Hello there, PtR. Ya doing good? Good. How am I? Oh, I'm fine. Doing just fine, really. Got a proposition for you. See, I've been talking with jrw and we think that some of you out there have some skills that you've been keeping under wraps. And that's got to end.
The Socks. The Hair. The Legend. -- So much to work with.
Here's how we see it going down: we'll give you a week to come up with your best image of Tiago. The theme is Basic Black: that's it. So have some fun with it. Use your Photoshop talents and put them to use. Send them in to me and at the end of the week, we'll post the best of them in a poll thread, and let the site choose the winner. And the grand prize? Well, it's a Spurs Suit Up tee-shirt. Image of prize to follow. Not valid where prohibited by law.
So, get out there and start working. Grab your favorite image of our newest big man and let your creativity flow. Or find a picture and make something funny. It's up to you. Just keep it Tiago and Basic Black related. And may the best 'chopper win.
Nets Get Their 'King': Nets name Billy King new general manager after month-long search
Here's the interesting part:
"The Nets issued a statement announcing the arrival of the 44-year-old King, who edged out former Duke teammate Danny Ferry for the position after both had interviewed with Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov Tuesday in Manhattan."
There were persistent rumors that new Nets coach Avery Johnson wanted to have some 'sway' over the next general manager; someone who, for all intents and purposes, is suppose to be his boss.
In that respect, I can see why Danny Ferry may have lost out to Billy King; someone who was noted to have been influenced by former-Sixers coach Larry Brown, during their time spent in Philly.
I can't say this is a good move for the Nets. King may have drafted Thaddeus Young and Andre Iguodala, but he also gave Igoudala and Elton Brand those mammoth, unmovable contracts. Plus, he thought it would be a brilliant idea to bring back Allen Iverson.
Sources: Players submit CBA proposal to owners, walk away with heavy bags of cash
Brilliant move by the player's association to hand in their CBA counter-proposal on the eve of Fourth-Tier Free-Agent Payday.
Five months ago, David Stern scared everyone into thinking that the NBA was heading to financial ruin and teams would lose $400 million this season. Well, those same teams bleeding money just handed out $449 mil in thirty-six hours to guys NOT NAMED Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.
A hearty congratulations to Channing Frye, Amir Johnson, Darko Milicic, Rudy Gay, Drew Gooden and good ol' Joe Johnson for seemingly undercutting David Stern's position that the league's financial future is in dire straits.
Well done, gentlemen, well done.
The NBA Finals of Complaining
Aww, look who's leading the way with an impressive 73%. I just can't but wonder how much more complaining that idjit would do, if Brucey Bruce were guarding him on the other end.
And let's not get it twisted folks; if this were Spurs/Celtics, I'm almost positive that a certain beloved eye-bugging, Greatest of All-Time would be giving Ray Ray a run for his money. ::blarilol::

Photo/'Chop Recap: 'transgojobot' Jinxes the Spurs in New Jersey!
As an east-coast, tri-state residing Spurs fan, I have just two chances every season to see the team play in person; Spurs/Knicks and Spurs/Nets. Well, three, if you throw in Spurs/Sixers; which is quite a distance from me.
Anyway, this season's Knicks matchup fell too close to the holidays (booo!), so that was a wash. Instead, I zeroed in on the March 29th Nets game in East Rutherford. Discovering that it was going to be a SEGABABA and that the Spurs would be in Boston the day before (yikes!), I was already mildly concerned about how the crew would respond in this game months, MONTHS ahead of time.
Oh, did I forget to mention that I haven't gone to an NBA game in nine years?
This should be fun!

...in time for spring!
Yeah, yeah. It wasn't quite the "explosive" 40+ Durant put up, but still ...A SPLOSION!
Not even GameStop would take this off my hands; "zero used value" they said. So, I'm throwing this up on eBay, if anyone wants it.
Pardon my French.
