Final Thoughts Going Into Free Agency
The Tennessee Titans were a win against an 0-14 team away from the playoffs in 2011. However, they still have a ton of holes that need to be filled by the fall of 2012. The free agency period starts this Tuesday, and this will be our first crack at filling some of those holes. Our new GM Ruston Webster has said a few interesting things during this dull period in the NFL. One of the most interesting things that he said was that the Titans will focus on the defensive front 7 and the running game during free agency. On defense, they need to upgrade on basically all levels. Offensively, I am expecting one signing at either G or C. However, there are other positions that need to be upgraded besides both lines. I am sharing my thoughts on all positions that could be upgraded during this FA period.

Titans' Front Office Changes Play To Strengths
"For instance, Reinfeldt was somewhat miscast as GM, said one source on the scene. His new position, formerly held by Steve Underwood, will allow him to work more behind the scenes on a broader scope of the team's affairs. Meanwhile, Webster, who shares a very similar philosophy to Reinfeldt on team building, is a guy who will be comfortable in the spotlight and dealing with agents, players and the media."
Did we find something in the running game?
I thought I noticed this when I was watching the game on Sunday. In most 2nd half runs, where CJ had most of his yards, we had either multiple O-linemen pulling, or a G pulling, with Hall following, getting CJ outside more. I hope we continue to work around those kinds of runs, rather than what feels like just running CJ right up the middle every play.
Tennessee Titans Movember Update
Craig Stevens and Rob Bironas are the most impressive by far
Game Of The Week: Steelers at Titans, January 11, 2003
I can't wait for Sunday after watching it
"Former Titans, Broncos and Jets offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger died Friday night. World lost a great man. RIP, Dinger."
Wow. RIP
@AdamSchefter
"Munchak: Doesn't want to move Nate too much, so Williams more likely to go straight into Britt spot."
@Glennonsports
"Hearing Clinton Portis had a strong workout in TEN. Ran well and could be signed in next week or so. Javon Ringer's back being monitored"
@JasonLaCanfora
JMV1070 (Host of the Colts' official radio show) - "Been told by multi sources that QB P Manning needs a 2nd neck procedure. Will remain out indefinitely.Called #colts and waiting on response."
Update from Schefter: "Filed to ESPN from @mortreport: Peyton Manning is being revaluated by several doctors bc of slow progress. No other procedure planned now."
Another update, from @TheSportsGuy13: "Father Archie Manning declined comment tonight on report that QB son Peyton needs another neck surgery."
Another update, from Mort: "As when Colts signed Kerry Collins for $4 million, team did not believe PM would be ready for opener. Barring miracle, that's more evident"
Another update, from WTHR news: "Several sources tell 13 Sports that Manning will not play in the season opener in Houston next Sunday."
"Knowing both sides are on the clock, Chris Johnson and Titans have been talking and will continue talking to try to get a deal in next week."
@AdamSchefter ...more of the same stuff being said, I'm getting excited
"NFLN's @Michaelombardi on CJ2K: #Titans aggressive, want to get a deal done THIS WEEK. Opened up the bank vault, they're going to pay him."
@ChrisWesseling
"Titans continuing sustained negotiations with Chris Johnson. Wouldn't be shocked at all if they had a breakthrough by the weekend in time for him to practice and play in Week 1. I know he's been looking for more money, but can't help but wonder if it ends up $30M guaranteed"
@JasonLaCanfora
"If Chris Johnson asks for too much more than $10 million a year, this holdout could be a long one. The Titans might not go above $10 M"
@ClaytonESPN ..but keep in mind John Clayton does make shit up and guess a lot
"CJohnson's agent sent a new proposal to the Titans before the Larry Fitz deal was announce-which will make the next few days interesting"
@Michaelombardi
I think if there's not at least SOME progress this week, it'll be time to seriously start worrying about this going into the regular season
"#titans mike munchak says cj will not be traded. Won't entertain offers"
@terrymc13 ..Terry McCormick
edit from dreese: nothing groundbreaking here, but I'm FP'ing this for great justice.
Bud backs Reinfeldt, gives CJ the finger
okay..so I made that second part up
"We r evaluating the QB sitch,#18 healing but we got 2 b prepared 4 early season possibility without him,defense has 2 pick it up,big time! Not taking Pryor...what VET QB would u vote 4 to sign that's out there? If sum1 has 2 hold the fort early season,who u going with?"
@JimIrsay ...take your time Peyton! Don't hurry back!
"My absence had nothing to do with a holdout yet a personal matter that Titan officials were aware of. I am grateful for being a Titan. I am also thankful for my current contract and direction of team. It's obvious media had no idea of why my absence took place. I have spoken with coaches and teammates and will resume all things asked. Sad to see media made this out to be about money when I'm happy with all that has been given so forgive me Nashville for media making it seem that way. Media gets paid to report never knowing but one side of a story. My personal issues needed attention and I will be out there playing ball. Look forward to answering questions Tom at practice. Titans officials were aware of my absence but disappointed I was not there very different due to Personal matters. I am human. My absence had nothing to do with contract or holdout. I will resume all activities with team.. Very happy with current situation. Who and where did this all stem from.. Let me guess a tweet then Wyatt jumped to conclusions with no real story. Media gets paid to do a job. Being absence from a team function doesnt mean holdout or your unhappy. Family issues come up. I'm human thank you Nashville for understanding."

"Teams get email from league that league yr will begin Thurs at 4 pm EST, latest. All newly signed players can practice late Thursday aft."

Free Agency/Offseason transactions thread
Now that the lockout is over and free agency and trades have started, there's a ton of news in the NFL world. But, a lot of the time the news is not related to what is posted on the front page. I always feel bad when people are having a nice conversation and I post something in the comments that starts off like "OT: from Wyatt...". So, I just decided to make this thread. Now, people can post news and rumors in the comments on this thread. Especially tomorrow, when there are going to be several releases throughout the league, and more rumors should be picking up.

"#Titans rookie QB Jake Locker is already in Nashville and is expected to report to BSP on Tuesday morning. Definitely a good sign Locker is so ready to go. He made sure he was in town so he could be there first chance #titans"
@jwyattsports
"I said I wouldn't jump in til they agreed... They've FINALLY agreed! Sources say 2 sides this hour FINALLY agree to terms of new CBA"
