Entering final semester at Florida State University, lifelong supporter of the university. My father is an alum and I grew up on the glory days of the 90's but understand that things move in cycles. FSU is making a triumphant return and I will be with them for every step of the journey. Fair weather fans, go grab an umbrella and meet me at Doak this fall! The storm isn't over but the clouds are moving swiftly!!

Jimbo Fisher Takes a Major Step Backwards

Unfortunate that the perception of a coach and program can change this drastically in 48 hours, but that is exactly what happened with Jimbo Fisher and FSU from Saturday to Monday. Overuse of the word "execution" has fans weary of the direction this team and program will take from here

'Noles Soldier On

Seminoles survive what seemed to be a sleepy Saturday all over the nation.

Noles and Tigers Must Continue to Carry ACC Torch

Both teams fought hard on Saturday and will have to avoid letdowns moving forward.

Bring the Noise: Florida State's Home Field Advantage

Last season we witnessed an electrifying atmosphere and improved defense help to stifle the OU offense at Doak. This year, FSU's home crowd will have to do its part to help slow down Clemson as well.

Noles' depth and range in Secondary will be vital on Saturday

Having five guys on the field that could challenge to start at corner for most of the schools in the conference is a decent way to counter Clemson's passing attack. This will be a tough challenge, no question. But this secondary may be the talk of the nation after Saturday.

Noles hoping that Clemson's Road Struggles Continue

The Tigers are headed in for their first true road test of the year. Tajh Boyd is an improved player from one year ago, but Clemson's offense struggled a great deal in true road games last season as Boyd saw his completion percentage dip below 55% and his passer rating drop by 44 points when away from Death Valley.

FSU Rush Attack Needs to Maintain Momentum

15 Rushing TD's on 7.6 yards per carry after three games. Last season FSU scored 20 touchdowns on the ground all year.

Noles vs. Tigers: Special Teams to Play Huge Role

To date, the FSU special teams play has been great and that includes freshman punter Cason Beatty. What I will be interested in seeing is whether or not FSU will test Sammy Watkins. When asked previously, Fisher has alluded to kicking the ball out of the end zone when you have a particular guy that you don't want to get chances. If Sammy Watkins doesn't fit that description, no one does.

FSU Beat: Seminoles Ready to Plunder Atlantic

With a point spread that has now grown to 27, the Seminoles are expected to win against Wake Forest rather handily. I think most fans and the Seminoles themselves are well aware of the dangers of taking Wake lightly. I believe we will learn quite about this version of the Noles on Saturday.

The Light Coming on for FSU's Wilder Jr.

I have been impressed with Wilder's improvement from year 1 to year 2. I'm now interested in seeing how he performs as competition improves. Thus far, the Seminoles have gone with a straight forward rotation as far as carries are concerned. I believe as the season wears on, Wilder will continue to establish himself as a punishing closer to bring things home late in games.

Fisher Relaxed, Seminoles Ready

The attitude and confidence of Jimbo Fisher has been a subject of discussion dating back to National Signing Day, but this Fall he has been more noticeably comfortable with this 2012 team. I discuss this and a few other things of note with the opening game just four days away.

Is this Rick Trickett's Redemption Year?

Whether fair or not, Rick Trickett takes a lot of heat for how last season shook out and his unit will undoubtedly be the most closely watched throughout the season in 2012. How do you feel about Trickett's chances of fielding a consistent offensive line this season?

Inside The ACC | Noles still Big, Fast and Talented

Writing a weekly update for Inside The ACC now, guys. Feel free to check it out and chime in here with your thoughts on the most important story lines in camp thus far.

Why FSU's recent record isn't the point of conference expansion

National Media, out of touch ex coaches and confused fans continue to make contentions to expansion based on Florida State's recent on the field shortcomings. They are missing the mark.

Assessing Florida State Football's 2012 Spring Camp

Overall I'm really pleased with the makeup of the FSU defense and encouraged with the direction the offense is going. I think during the Spring, a lot of players who have not contributed in the past were able to reveal themselves as future options.

Seminole Upperclassmen most talented in years

This is an obvious statement and I'm sure most people are aware. But it's further emphasized when you realize that FSU could have as many players drafted in 2013 as they had drafted in 2008-2011.

FSU's Jones will have decision to make following 2012 Campaign

One discussion that I've seen pop up frequently is whether or not Christian Jones has done or will be able to do enough to warrant leaving college early. My thought is that two consecutive years of effective/productive play at different LB positions + elite physical tools are going to give him a pretty good shot.

G5's Final Flight: Greg Reid's legacy at FSU

Difficult to believe Reid is entering his final season. He is always one of the players that gets the most attention from teammates and coaches during spring and fall camp and it's been more of the same this year.

Why Kenny Shaw could be the Nole to Watch in 2012

In short - Improved pass protection -Improved EJ Manuel - Big play threats around him -He's always open

Defensive Field General Lamarcus Joyner is still Maturing

Joyner allows the FSU secondary to be much more flexible and dynamic, as Jimbo refers to him as "an eraser", rather frequently. Joyner had a team high 4 picks last season, but probably could have had more. A recent comment from Coach Fisher suggested that LJ is now doing a better job of judging the ball in the air and not as preoccupied with making the big time hit as often as he was in the past. I think this is just the natural progression in his game and a sign of him continuing to improve.

Subtle Changes in Coach Fisher could lead to Improved Results

This is obviously a personal opinion based on observation. But I find Jimbo's demeanor and attitude toward the team to an interesting departure from the norm. I think it's a positive thing. Making a conscious effort to instill toughness and put more physical pressure on them during practices. He has also been more (although still not very) open to admitting that he expects this year's team to be good than he has before.

The Curious Case of Bobby Hart

A lot of people have wanted to talk about this and I think it's an intriguing question: Will Bobby Hart redshirt this season? My short answer is no. Not because I think the redshirt is a bad idea from a personal standpoint, but because I don't feel FSU can afford to sit one of, if not their best offensive linemen in such a crucial year. His age is set up to where Hart's best years will be in the NFL regardless in my opinion, but he will be a very good player in garnet and gold over the next couple of years.

Is Cameron Erving the Answer at Left Tackle

The praise he has continued to receive from Fisher is great and it obviously has to count for something that he has run with the first string since day one of Camp. But this isn't the most simple of transitions and this is the most important position on the offensive line. Could we really be looking at our answer? I'm hoping so, but it's difficult to imagine there won't be growing pains and growing pains at left tackle can be painful for everyone involved.

From bottom of the ACC to an NFL DL in 3 years

This pretty much speaks for itself. In 2009, none of FSU's draft eligible scholarship defensive linemen were selected by NFL teams. At the end of 2012, the number could very well be 5.

The Florida State Linebacker Shuffle

I'm pretty optimistic about Moody's move to LB. I'm interested in seeing how he does. The reserve I'm most interested in is Terrance Smith, but I, like everyone else, am ready to see Jeff Luc produce something on defense as well. The prospect of Toshmon Stevens moving to LB was talked about earlier in the year, but being that he's now nearly 250 lbs. and very noticeably larger, I think he stands a chance to actually log some snaps in some capacity. Possibly hybrid. Thoughts?

Second Year Noles battling in FSU Secondary

Some thoughts on the depth prospects in the secondary as of spring. I feel pretty good about the sophomore/rs freshman talent behind the starting four right now.

Florida State receivers have Talent to Burn

With the wealth of talent returning to the position, I have continued to have questions about how well and quickly Willie Haulstead would be able to jump back into the mix of things at receiver.

The Men behind The Man: FSU's Backup Quarterbacks

The QB battle has been quiet so far, but I'm guessing we'll hear more about Clint Trickett and Jacob Coker leading up to the Spring game. My personal guess is that Trickett emerges from spring as the #2 QB just as he entered. Anyone think Coker overtakes him between now and September?

Florida State Seminoles: Mid-Spring Thoughts

Just sharing some of my thoughts on the developments we have to work with so far this Spring. I think there are some positives here and I am admittedly intrigued by Jimbo's change in demeanor and attitude RE: referring to this as "an old school spring"

Florida State Seminoles: 5 Questions for Spring Football 2012

In the midst of March Madness excitement, there's still football to be played...and soon! I'm really looking forward to this Spring in particular. For those that are able to slip into football mode for a little discussion, let me know what your five questions for Spring Ball are.
