I know, this loss really hurts, and I'm no exception. I was just wondering if someone could upload a video of that dunk by aboya over Noah, because that was probably the sweetest play that whole game.

as a band member, I think i'm obliged to "sing" a few songs with a little bit of significance to us Bruins...

We're the sons of westwood!
And we hail blue and gold!
True to thee our hearts will be,
Our love will not grow old FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
Bruins roam the hills of Westwood
By the blue Pacific shore
And If we chance to see a BITCH from USC
Every Bruin starts to ROAAAAAAAAAR!
U! clap-clap-clap
C! clap-clap-clap
LLLLLLLLL! (clap-clap-clap)
A! clap-clap-clap
U-C-L-A! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

...

Hail to the Hills of Westwood
By the mighty sea below
Hail to our Alma Mater
She will conquer every foe-oe-oe

For we're loyal to the southland
her honor we'll uphooooooold
We'll gladly give our hearts to thee
To the blue and to the gooooooooold! (tap-tap-tap)

(instrumental music for Rover)...
We're looking over our dead dog rover
that we overran tonight ALL RIGHT!
one leg is broken, the other is bent
and in his head there's a great big dent! (SLAM)
No need explaining, the parts remaining
that we overran toniiiiiiiiiiight!

(and I know we don't play this after games, but it definitely is necessary)
We are the mighty Bruins!
The best team in the west!
We're marching on to VICTORY!
To conquer all the rest!
We are the mighty bruins!
Triumphant evermore!
and you can hear, from Far and near!
The MIGHTY BRUINS ROAAAAAAAAAAR!

Sorry for such a useless post, but THAT WAS UNF***INGBELIEVABLE!!!

GO BRUINS!

Well that Purdue game was something... Like I stressed in my last post, what's up with the home court advantage?! That place was f***ing loud!!

Lindsey Pluimer was in foul trouble for much of the 2nd half (and eventually fouled out) and it made it too easy for the Boilers to just cut right into the middle and score easy layups (well they DID miss a few..) While on the other end, none of our shots were falling in during the last 2 minutes like the other 95% of the game. We probably had 3-4 shots from behind the 3 point arc, and a few shots within the field, and none of them were falling in. Also it didn't help that the Refs weren't calling any shooting fouls. We took 6 FTA's, while Purdue had 19 (minus about 4-6 from fouling at the end) But the disparity was reeeeeally obvious. But I guess that's basketball for you.

It was a really heartbreaking loss, especially when you had the whole crowd rooting against us. While on our way out, this was the best quote of the whole trip: "Go back to your beaches!" said one Purdue student (it was snowing in Indiana)... yeah enough said.

I'll post pictures later

Women's NCAA Tourney First Round - West Lafayette, IN

From the diaries. Don't forget our Lady Bruins. GO BRUINS -N

I'm a member of the band with the Women's team during the NCAA tourney, and I got a few pictures.

About the actual game, our women played pretty well, there was a short defensive lapse in the 2nd half where Bowling Green got within single digits, but Lisa Willis rained down 4 threes and the Falcons just couldn't keep up. I love watching our women's team play, except sometimes there are a few reckless moments when they're trying to be too fancy, but it's fun to watch their up-tempo game (not to rip on our men's style of play though).

The band actually got to stay with the team in the same hotel as well as fly on the same chartered flight, and it's great to see the players outside of the games. Since we were here already on saturday, we actually had to find a sports bar to watch the men's game (The Gonzaga vs. Indiana game was on locally). When Arron Afflalo hit that three late in the 2nd half, we all went nuts, and all the locals looked at us funny. Of course we did an Eight-Clap when we won.

More pics later after we play Purdue. What the heck is up with their home-court advantage though?? And don't say no one shows up to women's games because we were at the purdue vs. Missouri St. and the place had a pretty large amount of fans
