Cartoon - Adam
I used to get upset by cartoons picking on the Cubs but I'm over it now.

Another year and still trying to get rid of the "curse".
More Spring Training News From Arizona
Scottsdale officials are supporting an American Indian tribe’s bid to build a spring-training complex for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.
Tucson may get Brian Roberts before Cubs
The Baltimore Orioles are expected to receive a proposal early this week from the Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority about the possibility of moving their spring training site to Tucson.
New ST Baseball Complex Suggested For Marana Just North Of Tucson
There is hope that this idea will attract teams from Florida. It may be a case of too little too late but that remains to be seen. I'm sure not holding my breath.
Murton Reaching Comfort Zone With Rockies
For those of you who are following the career of our old friend Matt Murton, I thought I'd post this nice article from the Arizona Daily Star. I'm pulling for him to do well for them.
OT- Suggested Travel Route If Coming To Tucson From Phx.
Due to widening construction of I-10 as you approach downtown Tucson and the normal offramps to Hi Corbett (Broadway or 22nd St.), I suggest you get off at Prince Rd. All offramps after Prince Rd. are closed.
When you exit Prince Rd. turn left (East) and go approximately 4 to 5 miles to Country Club Rd. Turn right (South) and go approx. 3 to 4 miles to Broadway. Turn left (East) and the first light is Randolf Way. You can turn right on Randolf Way to Hi Corbett and try to park in the lot or instead of turning right look to your left and you will see El Con Mall. You can park at the mall and walk to Hi Corbett (It's about a 1/2 mile walk). If you do not want to walk, you can park in the northeast corner of the mall and a bus (for free) will take you to the park and will bring you back at the end of the game.
Hope to see you at the game. I will be wearing my Bleed Cubbie Blue shirt.

D'backs, Rockies looking to move from Tucson ST

There was a discussion on this in another post the other day and so I thought I'd post an update here. With the $5 million settlement between the Sox and Pima County to allow the Sox to break their contract, has triggered the "out" clause in the Rockies and D'backs contracts.
I sure hope the county can persuade another team to come here so the Rockies and D'backs won't leave but I really doubt that will happen. Looks like spring training will cease to exist here in a few years.
Historic Photos Site
Found this site and thought the group here at BCB might like to look at this.

Search millions of photographs from the LIFE photo archive, stretching from the 1750s to today. Most were never published and are now available for the first time through the joint work of LIFE and Google.

Lefties have advantage
Here is an interesting article from the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson regarding left handed ball players having an advantage over righties. http://www.azstarnet.com/sports/247686
Don't usually have a reason to do a fan post so hopefully you all find this an interesting read. I'm also short the required amount of words so I'm hoping this puts me over the top. Never thought it would be so hard to come up with 75 words but it is.
OT - George Carlin
This is my first fan post and unfortunately it's not a very happy one. Yesterday I was so happy seeing the Cubs sweep the Sox but today I'm sad because we all lost a great comedian. I saw George Carlin twice, once in 1977 and later in the early '80s and just loved his way of telling a story along with great facial expressions.
I liked a lot of his routines but one of my favorites was his routine about "Lets make a deal". He did this on Johnny Carson one night and my brother and I were literally rolling on the floor. My dad was laughing more at me and my brother but he too enjoyed Carlin.
I have attached a link to one of his routines comparing baseball with football. Although I'm not terribly fond of this routine (mainly because he seems to make fun of baseball and I really do like baseball more than football), I chose this because this is a baseball site and wanted the post to be baseball related.

Rest in peace, George. We will miss you.
