Pick ONE: John Wall or Kyrie Irving?
I know it's early. That's why I wanted to do this poll now, because by the end of the year it may be clear who the better player will be.
For the sake of this discussion let's assume neither player will have injury problems.
Given the way our team has been playing, I dont expect Wall to run away with this vote...We haven't seen a whole lot of Kyrie, so I'm interested to see what the BF community has to say.
Please try to keep the debate civil. I feel like anyone that picks Kyrie is going to be flamed for "jumping ship". I'm sure that the members here that pick Kyrie are still dedicated Wizard fans.
Aaaaaaand to start off the debate, here's my pick and argument:
Andrew Luck Poll
Luck seems to be a sure thing. I say if we dont trade up to get him this year we shouldn't draft a QB--unless RGIII falls into our laps. I would be okay with trading a lot of this years draft picks and a couple guy from this years squad to move up. Maybe LaRon Landry would be a good bargaining chip? I love LaRon, one of my favorite players, but he cant seem to stay on the field. That being said he is a beast and should be worth something in a trade.
There are some guys I think should be untouchable: Ryan Kerrigan, Brian Orakpo, Rex Grossman, Trent Williams, Fred Davis, Perry Riley, Roy Helu should all be untouchable.
Maybe a package like this would work: LaRon Landry, Santana Moss, Our 1st rd pick(swap), 5th, 6th, 7th
In return we get the 1st pick and either Blair White, Anthony Gonzalez, Austin Collie or Pierre Garcon
Just a shout out to Nick Novak...I hope he can stick this time
He had a great year in the UFL. Maybe he did some strength training so he could make kicks over 30 yards?
DC Nike Pro League...Featuring some MD Terps.
Check it out...even Bernard Weijs has a highlight.
Dave Megget gets 30 year prison sentence
This must be tough on Davin...hopefully he can let out frustration on the field. We're all behind you Davin!
Check Out this hilarious Mike Conley extension rant. Worth your time.
Someone goes on a rant after Mike Conley's contract extension. Honestly it makes Gil's contract look great. Maybe when Gil is expiring down the road we can trade him for Conley and Gay...hehe
Hello Sactown Royalty! New member has some questions.
I'd like to introduce myself to the community. Here's some basic info about me-and yes, I know that most of you probably don't give a sh!t....but I thought it'd be nice to share some background info on myself now that I will be interacting with you all a lot. Im a regular over at BulletsForever, BTW. The internet is great, isn't it? I can watch the Kings on the other side of the country.
Give me some thoughts back as to some stuff I wouldn't know as a new member of the community, and anything about the Kings you think I might not know that I would like to know.
Thoughts from the Bucks game, and the preseason as a whole
1st wizards game ive been to in years...it was very very fun...especially since i was sitting club..sec216 :)
I love bball in person…its so much different than watching the game on TV. And honestly I was tokin on somethn green before the game(who doesn't?makes it 10x funner) so I cant remember everything.
My impressions(Im taking into account the other games but mostly this game):
- Nick Young, although he shot poorly…played well, and he really a gifted athlete. that 360? yeeesh. He looked confident, and I liked his shot selection for the most part. Is this the year we see a more mature Nick? He’s been up and down this preseason, but if he can contribute off the bench more often…look out league.
- I like the pick up of Kirk Hinrich. He’s gonna be a great 3rd gaurd…very good shooter and a strong defender. He’s overpaid, but honestly I think he’s worth what he brings. We have a LOT of immature/young players…his professionalism is welcomed.
- Dray was tired the second half(and tired in general)…but I agree I like him on the block more. He seems to be improving somewhat when teams throw doubles @ him. But he looks poised to put an entire season together. He’s confident, and on offense he looks like he's a season or two away from seriously dominating. I’ve liked him since we drafted him. Its been awesome watching him grow into the player he is. My prediction? 17-20ppg, 7-8 rebounds.
- JaVale seriously plays, runs, and just looks like an oversized, extremely atheletic, long, tall kid.(God what a run-on sentence. I need to start college before this gets worse -_- ) He needs to control himself. He consistently puts himself in bad spots, and has been taking "WTF" shots since his rookie year. You dont need to spin the lane dude. You look 7'3". Three plays really stand out in my head. One he did a ugly spin move, ducked under the defender, and somehow scored. It was a WTF moment. The other was when he tried to do some Dr.J shit layup and half the Bucks team swatted that shit. Go up strong or go OVER. He should really use that skyhook more!!! The last play was when he had the rock at the top of the key and he tried to thread a pass into a cutter coming across the low post. Plays like that really annoy me...your the freakn' center. THIS IS WHAT FLIP MEANS BY SUBSTANCE! We dont need you to be a playmaker!!!
- Seeing JaVale in person makes you realize how much of a FREAK he is. Can’t wait till he grows up a little bit. Seriously, imagine if ‘Vale had the mindset of Dennis Rodman(with or without the added craziness)…he’d average 20 rebounds a game.
- When someone like Drew Gooden eats you up…not good. All of their rotation bigmen need to improve defensively. Blatche, McGee, Yi. (Hilton is decent but shouldn’t see anything more than garbage time.
- Yi has some skills…and honestly, I like him out on the perimeter more than I do inside. He has a pretty shot. Finally played like his old self, but I’m still confident he will be prove to be a steal. He’s honestly surprised me more than any of their other players.
- Booker is shorter than I though. Haven’t seen him play too much so I can’t give much analysis. However, it looks like Yi will be very good as the first big to come off the bench. Damion James and Quincy Pondexter are more comfortable on the perimeter…they might have fit in better in the short term. But who knows. Way to early to tell. Don’t get it twisted though…I like Booker.
- Lester Hudson and Cartier Martin should make this team over Ammo. I honestly think Cartier should get more PT than Al Thornton right now…I like his game for the most part and he fits better with Wall…I just get uneasy when he puts the ball on the deck. He has a pretty shot…he should stick on the perimeter and shoot. Al hasn't shown me much at all.
- Lester looks like someone I would love to have on the team for practice purposes. He’s competitive, tough, and he’s got some game.
- For some reason the crowd cheered for Ammo but I’m honestly not sure why. No idea how or why or dabhwbufuot this guy was picked 3rd. He has a decent shot but besides that not much else…and every game I’ve seen him so far he is a horrid defender. People routinely blow by him.
- Gil didnt play much against the Bucks but from what I’ve seen the past few games I’m guessing he shoots over 41% from 3 and scores over 22ppg+…silencing his critics along the way.
- John Wall…I have nothing to say about the kid that hasn’t already been said. He brings excitement. He’s got swag, without being a jerk*cough*BRON*cough*…oh, and he’s pretty damn good :)
- Some thoughts on the Milwaukee Bucks--not many of their starters played, here's some thoughts anyway--- I like their personnel. CDR should be solid off the bench. Delfino is more athletic and bigger than I thought. Illyasova is one of my favorite players. He wasn't on tonight, but he can heat up. He also doesn't look like a soft Euro guy...
Jamarr Robinson can throw a football, just incase everyone forgot after watching the Navy game. Lets give this kid a chance. Navy is a damn good team. We were 2-10 last year we are halfway to our win total. An interception is not a very good way to start a game. Next week lets come out passing. Let him show everyone that he CAN make plays with his ARM. What he needs is CONFIDENCE. Hey Jamarr, we are all rooting for you(okay, maybe some people want Danny OBrien to play...but he cant he even hand the ball off! HA!)! Keep O'Brien on the bench!(no offense to Danny...i think Jamarr's just a better leader for this team...)

BulletsForever Ticket Trade/Sales Thread
Buying tickets from the Wizards directly is expensive...and so is stubhub. I know a lot of us here(or maybe its just me :p cant really afford to go to Wizards games. I watch every game on TV but I really want to go to a game now that we have John)
Not sure if something like this is allowed, but I was hoping this thread could stay alive all season...
If anyone knows they cant attend a game and have tickets, then you can let us know here.
Also, a BulletsForever hardcore Wizards fan discount would be great appreciated :)

Jump on the Kings bandwagon NOW!
I've been a fan of the Kings ever since Donte Greene was drafted by them(saw him play in HS a couple times...he's from MD)....and I was a fan of Cousins coming out of college....They were also my favorite western conference team during the Webber-Bibby days.
Great signing EG! You found a real gem.

Summer League Thread
I just wanted to start a thread where we could discuss all summer league games....Im sure there will be individual threads for each game the Wizards play so I wanted to keep this discussion centered around the top performers and all the lottery picks.
I'll try and keep the thread updated with some player analysis...but only if the thread stays active and is rec'd.
Tickets help. If you have season tickets please read.
Im about to start saving up for some Wizards tickets...preferrably I would want club seats or lower..
The thing is i dont want to buy a package and then not be able to bring somebody because some else has already purchased seats around me.
If anyone has season tickets and they dont go to every game please contact me before putting them on ticketmaster or something like that. I just graduated high school and currently am employed at my first job. Hopefully I will get promoted soon but until then I am making minimum wage, lol. Even though I dont have a lot of bills I would still rather not break the bank on tickets so if someone has a hookup or season tickets and is looking to sell some and can help me find cheap tickets I would really really appreciate it.
Alonzo Gee
I feel like everyone has forgotten about him...well he's a free agent!
Why not bring him back? We made the mistake of not signing him for the rest of the year, why not fix it? If Ted ever watches film of last year im sure he'd be intrested in bringing the kid back. From what I saw I really believe that Alonzo will develop into a fringe starter. He has the tools to become great defensively he just has to develop a decent jumper. And he is already a good finisher inside. He fits into our plan. Bring the kid back!!!!
Not only do I think we should sign him, I think we should sign him to a multi-year deal early so he will be cheap and in a couple years when he is good it will be a bargain. How does 3 years-$5 million sound?
Larry Hughes waived by Kings!
Seeing as how Josh Howard just wend down, i think we should give Larry a chance. He was one of my favorite wizards. I think he'd love to come back to where he played the best basketball of his career. He can provide some perimeter defense that we lost with JHo. Plus hes a better shooter than Ross.
Thoughts on the new wiz so far and what should we do with Gillie next year?
The Wizards have been playing a new brand of basketball recently.
I figured that after all the trade we would just see and improved version of last year's injury decimated team. Boy, was i WRONG.
We are playing inspired basketball right now. I haven't had so much fun watching the Wizards since the arrival of the Big Three.
who knows, maybe
Thoughts on the players so far(I know its only been a couple games)
Andray Blatche - Dude has playing like an All-Star. These past 4 games he has looked better than Antawn, IMO. He might not be able to rebound like 'Tawn, but i the fact that he is an actual defensive presence in the post makes up for that. I love his offensive game. The thing about Gil and 'Tawn is that it seems like they have their minds made up when they get the ball and they are either going to pass or shoot. Blatche seems like a much more fluid basketball player. I love the fact that he is a willing passer out of the post. His inside/outside game is really fun to watch and he has got to have some of the best handles in the league for someone his size.
James Singleton --Reminds me of the Chris Anderson out in Denver, except he can shoot the ball a little. I love the energy this guy brings on both ends of the floor. Terrific hustle player. I know a lot of us here at BulletsForever already love the guy.
Josh Howard--didnt take long for him to get hurt did it? its disappointing, to say the least. what i saw from the guy, i liked. Good luck in the future Josh, because i doubt anyone wants to see the Wizards sign another injury prone guy.
Al Thornton--Really likes to shoot. Id like to see him get to the line more often, but i like what im seeing out of him so far. Clipper fans had us expecting he was going to be taking mid-range jumpers all day. He has been agressive so far. He is probably going to start now since Howard got hurt, but next year id rather see him come off the bench as a guy who can come in and give us some instant offense.
Mike Miller--ive always been a big fan of Mike Miller. I love his game. However, we have a young team and i think we shouldnt offer him anything more than a 1 year deal. If he wants something longer, let him walk.
Randy Foye --mediocre point gaurd, better as an off gaurd. I think itd be wise to resign this guy to give us some depth. not a great player but he is solid.
Earl Boykins -i liked him the first couple games but not much after that. everyone here blasts him for how much he dribbles, and im not gonna argue. Hes a good guy, but i would prefer not to see him in a wizards uni next year.
JaVale McGee --Steadily improving. Glad hes getting some major burn. But i just cant see him adding too much size to his frame. I think Worst Case Scenario right now for this guy is a better version of Ryan Hollins.
Quinton Ross--upgrade over stevenson on the defensive end, but i think he'll be just as inefficient on the offensive end.
Nick Young -After the Miami game where he outplayed Dwayne Wade i really thought he was gonna keep playing well. Well, he hasn't. Hes basically the same player he was last year. He doesn't seem to display a good basketball IQ, and when he gets the ball it seems like there's a 50% chance he's gonna shoot it or turn it over. At this point, i really cant see him improving much more. He's the type of guy that will have five to fifteen double digit scoring games a season. He has never been much of a playmaker. With his athleticism, i see no reason why he cant be every bit as good of a defender as Quinton Ross. But he's not. I guess the wizards will just have to decide if they want to keep this kind of guy on the roster. I think Al Thornton makes him expendable. Let him walk.
thoughts so far (after Miami Win)11/27/09
Nick Young just schooled Dwayne Wade. I cant believe what I just saw. This kid is as talented as we thought he was. He just needs to stay confident...if he plays defense like he did tonight he will get consistent minutes even if he is inconsistent on offense. He can get anywhere on the court and can get up a decent shot against any defender. He needs to get to the line more often. I think he has the ability to be an allstar(or that could just be hopeful thinking).
I dont know what to say about Gilbert. I love him and I'll remember all the game-winners he has made, but right now he is just a ball-stopper on offense and a ghost on defense. The Wizards play better as a TEAM when Boykins is in the game. It is sad to see Gil sitting on the bench the entire fourth period though. Maybe they should look into trading Gil for a distributing point gaurd? It might be too hard to do with his mammoth of a contract.
Blatche is steadily improving as always. Great vision and passing skills for a guy his size. He is also becoming more disciplined. Will be a starter eventually. It seems like he's been around forever but he's still young. Haywood is having the best season of his career by far. He seems a lot happier with Eddie Jordan not around. McGee just needs to keep working, he will be a very good player. Oberto has surprised me...i didnt think he would even play. Someone on this site compared him to Darius Songaila but i think thats a terrible comparason becasue he is a much smarter player and a much better on-ball defender. Stevenson gives us some nice depth. But he has no handles.
Foye is the definition of average. Miller is hurt(but was very good when he was playing). I think im not the only one who wouldnt rather have Brandon Jennings or Johnny Flynn in a Wizards uni. It makes me very sad when i think about the fact we would have had the opportunity to draft Brandon Jennings had we not made that trade.
Jamison is still going strong, still underrated, and still cant play defense. I liked when they had him playing the 3, but with his size he just isnt capable of gaurding very many players. He is too small for most opposing 4's, and doesnt have the lateral quickness to gaurd most 3's. Imagine him trying to check Bron or KD24. Caron is also still playing solid basketball but i think he could be playing a lot better.
Boykins has been a pleasent surprise....I didnt expect him to play, but he is finishing out games and getting minutes over Gillie.
Timmy Williams over and out!!!
"Campbell should be benched"
Dammit, if you were on of the idiots that has been saying Campbell should be benched for bum-@$$ Todd Collins or 1 of the f*cking third stringers dont go changing up on us!!!
Ive always been a supporter of the guy and i just never understood why people were too stupid too see that he has what it takes to be an above-average QB.
Im sure the "bench Campbell" people will quiet down for awhile but as soon as he has one bad game they'll be back.
