Please rate my team
I drafted last Sunday for a 12-team PPR league. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K, and 1 OP (offensive utility player, where you can start any offensive player)
Here is my team:
QBs: Trent Edwards, Chad Pennington
RBs: Matt Forte, Brian Westbrook, Fred Jackson, Leon Washington, Felix Jones, Darren Sproles,
WRs: Roddy White, Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe, Eddie Royal, Steve Smith (NYG)
TEs: Jason Witten
D/ST: Cowboys
K: Lawrence Tynes
Did Boston want King Felix?
MODERATORS' NOTE: PLEASE LINK TO SOURCE MATERIAL. THIS WAS FIRST WRITTEN BY GEOFF BAKER HERE
I was just on Faketeams, the sbnation fantasy sports blog, and it was reported that Boston offered any 5 of these 8 prospects for Felix.
RHP Clay Buchholz
RHP Daniel Bard
RHP Justin Masterson
LHP Nick Hagadone
RHP Michael Bowden
LHP Felix Doubront
OF Josh Reddick
SS Yamaico Navarro
Obviously we turned it down, but Boston offering that is pretty impressive, especially since I thought they were saying that Clay Buchholz and Daniel Bard were "untouchable." If this report is true, should we have made this trade?
Keeper Help
So in my league you can keep up to three players and you lose the draft pick for the round in which the player was drafted in last year; if a player was drafted from the 9th round on or was a free agent, he becomes basically an 8th rounder. So for example, if I pick Matt Forte in the 10th round, I can keep him while only losing my 8th round pick.
I think its normal scoring except its a PPR league and QBs get a point every 20 yds instead of every 25 not that that really matters to much.
I need help with who to keep.
I have Brian Westbrook for the first round, Reggie Wayne 2nd round, Ronnie Brown and Jason Witten from the 5th round, Roddy White from the 8th round, and Matt Forte from the 10th round.
I'm thinking definitely Roddy White and Matt Forte because that is 4th-5th round and 1st round value but I'm unsure of the third guy I should keep.
Keeper Question
I am the commissioner of my league and am starting to prepare for this years draft. My league has been going on for 4 years and we have done keepers where you can keep up to 2 players but you lose your 1st and 2nd round picks.
I am planning on pushing for new keepers rules for next year but I want to have these rules set up before the draft starts.
Basically, instead of losing a first or second round draft pick, you lose the draft pick for whatever round you drafted a player last year. For example, if you drafted Matt Forte in the 9th round last year, you can keep him while losing your 9th round draft pick.
Also, if you pick someone up off of waivers, I was thinking you would lose your draft pick based on what player you dropped. For example, if you picked up Matt Cassel by dropping your 14th round draft pick, you could keep Matt Cassel by losing your 14th round draft pick this year.
Does this system seem fair? Do you have any suggestions of how I could improve it? Sorry if my explanation is confusing. Ask if you need me to clarify.
