Nolan will have better career than Irving
Not much substance to this bleacher report story except one guys gut feeling, but I think there are a lot of people that think Nolan is a sleeper.

What song do they play when Martell scores?
What song do they play when Martell scores? And I don't mean Barry White. I couldn't find it on the internet although others are wondering.
...you get to see them and touch them.
Dean Demopoulous during summer league game interview --speaking about why he likes seeing players in person that he has only scouted on tape.
summer league on TV?
I was wondering if anyone knew for sure that the summer league games were on comcast? I saw that scheduled for monday on comcast sports is a two hour long trailblazers courtside, but it is at 7pm and the game on monday is scheduled for 5pm. Anyone know what's up? Sorry if this has been covered before, I searched and did not see an answer. Thank you.
Who started using the phrase- "players name here" anyone?-
I know this is a stupid post, but I've used the phrase, for Ty Lawson I think. You have a player and you are asking if anyone would agree with you in getting them. The Oldest one I could find is this http://www.blazersedge.com/2008/6/14/552232/shaun-livingston-anyone By chrischa about one year ago. It's kind of a funny phrase. Did you start it? Or perhaps it's super old. Just wondering.
Rafer Alston, skip to my blazer?
I was just watching game 5 of the finals, and the announcers mentioned that when Rafer Alston was on the bench for the 4th quarter and overtime of game 4 he was very unhappy. So they began wondering if he would be happy being a back up to Jameer Nelson next year. If not they would have to trade him. Is he an upgrade for us? I don't really know, Houston ssemed to decide that Aaron brooks was better. But I have liked how he is performing in the Finals, most people thought is was an obvious mistake to have Nelson in so much. Is he someone the Blazers would want?
Sergio Llull anyone?
I did not now Sergio Llull was in the draft this year. I read this article on Nba.com and was surprised to see he was in there. The NBA point they compare him to is Jose Calderon, but then they write this "Llull has good physical attributes for the NBA, including excellent size and above-average athleticism. He brings great energy to the floor and really gets after it defensively. He's also a much improved perimeter shooter and decision maker, appearing to be one of those late-bloomers who still has upside to grow into." Sorry, but that totally destroys the comparison to Calderon. I only know him from watching him play online in some games, but I liked what I saw. We could draft him, and if Bayless works out he could come over next year to be a back up. If Bayless does not work out I think we would have Llull as insurance. For those that fear another Sergio fiasco, I thought he was very different from Sergio when I saw him.

Is LeBron a spoiled brat?
I wanted to know what others thought of this. I heard he walked off without talking to media, but I didn't realize that he didn't shake anyone's hand or congratulate them. What do you think of this article. Just trying to shake things up in slow basketball news time, or is it something to think about for LeBrons future teammates?
Question- is 3 the small forward?
Ok, I don't know a lot about basketball, I'll admit, did not play, have been a fan for 4 years. This morning on MSP a guy came on, KP2 I think? Thurs morning. He said we need to work on the point, and small forward positions. For the small forward position he mentioned Paul Milsap and Brandon Bass. I thought they were Power forwards, which I though was the 4 position. I also thought that the Small Forward was the 3 position. It seems there has been other discussions here where there is confusion about that. So am I wrong? Whats up? Thank You
does anyone know who Roy greeted on sideline?
Before and at the end of game 5 Roy went over and talked to two young guys on the sideline in the corner sort of. His Brother? They were the first people he went to after the game, even before celebrating with his teammates. Anyone Know who these cats were? Just wondering.
Blazers fans hate yellow headbands!
During the Memphis game at the Rose Garden there was a curious development. Former Blazer Darius Miles entered the game and the crowd erupted into Boo's, loud and sustained, that came whenever Darius touched the ball. However, later in the game Hakim Warrick entered the game and the Rose Garden again exploded in anti-cheering for the player. The reason? What set off the crowd? it must be the yellow headbands! Both players wore identical yellow headbands, and boy, the Garden faithful hate those things! I think there was a study about how that yellow dye mingles with sweat and causes pot smoking, and other bad behavior! So remember, if you see a yellow headband, razz it! I hope that's it, because if the Blazers can't even tell the difference between the guy they hate and Hakim Warrik, that would be embarrassing. It's like we just like to boo things with out even knowing why. Like perfectly decent calls by the refs that happen to be against one of our players. Go Blazers!

KG = old but good profiles in courage
The post about Utah below led me to the Kireleko Flop video which allowed me to see this. LMA at the end. KG is just awful.
Sac beats Denver- unexpected help
Its only momentary, but the worst team in the western conference just beat denver, putting them below us by percentage points in the division. The NBA is crazy, we were lucky to beat min last night, but at least we didn't lose to the kings. Looks like nocioni might have been the difference maker.
This put things in perspective
The Nuggets got crushed, granted NJ is a better team than OKC but I think the Thunder are doing very well lately. Also the Nugs were down by 37 at one point. Mostly I liked this from Billups "I've been in this league a long time and I know you're going to have three to four games like this on both sides,'' Billups said. "It's over. We washed it off in the shower.''
Hinrich boxscore
I don't know if getting him is still a possibility but I like the idea. He had a good game last night considering that he has only been back a few games. Best +/- on the team and they beat the Cavaliers. It will be interesting to see what happens with him.
"Three-tenths of a second remained, and the Trail Blazers were out of timeouts, meaning all they could do was inbound the ball, heave it at the basket, and hope for the best. It didn't happen, and Orlando left the court with its biggest win of the season."
I thought it was telling that they describe this as the biggest win of the season. This game was bigger for them than I realized. I'm glad our team is good enough that beating them can be somebodys win of the year, it shows how far the Blazers have come.
Von Wafer again?
Ok Ok, last time I'll do this, but click the link above for Von Wafer's Block of the Night! What?! I'm not even a big Von Wafer fan or anything, but whats up with him getting all this play in Houston? I'm psyched for him though.
Von Wafer fans out there
Click on the link above to watch the recap of the Houston / Memphis game last night. Thrill to the dunks, the crossover, the 3-ball, of your favorite ex-blazer- The Ball Barron, Herr Von Wafer!
How do the Pacers do so well against Boston
I went to indy cornrows, a good blog, and I saw some BE people there. It was a good thread.
In case you didn't see, the Pacers almost won in regulation. Boston made it to overtime and won a close one. The Pacers beat Boston one other time, and lost once also. So the Pacers could have been 2-1 against Boston if not for just one or two bad shots or unlucky bounces on Sunday.
So how do they do it? The most recent game had a lot of J. Jack going to hole and shooting free throws. He also seemed to do a good job on Rondo who had a poor game. When the Pacers actually won Rondo shot 1-4, had 4 assist and 6 rebounds, another bad game for him. So crushing Rondo seems to be a good start. In the overtime game I saw no stats that stuck out at all, everthing was close across the board. When the Pacers beat Boston , The C's had twice as many turnovers as Indy. 14 of their 24 turnovers were by the big 3, Indy had 12 turnovers.
Now I don't want anyone to think I am hung up on the boston loss, It does not worry me that much. I am much more impressed with our overall record with a tough schedule. I am really up on the Blazers, with time they will beat anyone, without a big trade. Oden in Toronto was great, and I love that we can win even when Brandon does not dominate in his quite way.
I just think it's interesting that Indy at 7-13 does so well with Boston. Anyone else have any idea's why?
Want to feel better?
I hope this works for you , but just look at the standings, look at the teams below us. Until a win or at least a very good showing Sunday morning, this gave me a little perspective.
the sound of an assist, no Blazers though
No Blazers in the top ten plays on NBA sight last night, but listen to the sounds the announcer makes on play number 7, Is that what an assist sounds like?
top ten plays on sportscenter?
On Sportscenter this morning Rudys reverse ally-oop from sergio was number one on their top ten plays! Spanish Armada!

Good Lookin' Blazers
My sister saw Rudy and Sergio at a restaurant the other day, and I thought the girls might enjoy what she said. Sergio was much better looking in person than in photos and video, Rudy was actually very photogenic, and was not better looking in person. She would, of course, run off to Spain with either one. Sergio the stud!
I just noticed that OKC is up by 13 over PHO at the Half
OKC outscored PHO 29 to 15 in the second, we shouldn't feel so bad , anything can happen in the NBA. We are doing pretty darn great.
Rudy's best contribution?
One of the most interesting things about having Rudy on the team could be his affect on Nate McMillian. I often see Rudy's play involving all the things that drive Nate crazy. He takes risk with wild passes, his play is flashy. He takes risk on defense. He is chaotic on a team run by Nate, who sometimes seem to have O.C.D. A control freak perhaps? We've all seen him pull players (Sergio) for getting overly creative, or for making the kind of mistake that comes with being a gambling type player.
And yet, Rudy gets away with it, gets minutes, because even McMillian cannot deny his skills. He is ultimately a good force for our team and no one can deny it. So what must this do to Nate? I think it could be an amazing learning experience. Nobody would think for a second of trying to change Rudy,, so does this change Nates perspective on what kind of player can make a team better? Does it force him to let the boys just play without fearing being pulled? Will he even begin to add more creativity too his coaching? Could Nate teach Rudy to focus his skills so that he is even more effective? I realize this is a lot like other post, Alpha, Omega, Offense, and Playing with rudy. I am thinking more of how and if this changes Nate. Is it driving him crazy or is he starting to relax and enjoy it? (P.S. I wrote this during halftime, is Nic's defence on Tracy great or am I imaging that, and he can finish! Thank god he didn't somehow end up on a team coached by Larry Brown!)
Bayless, Blake, Roy backcourt?
I am not convinced that Nate is a bad coach, thought there are many here that are. Yet I was baffled by this line up at the end of the vs. Suns game, I forget who played the four and five, but the backcourt was Bayless, Blake and Roy. This was at a point in the fourth when we still had time to come back. I wanted to know if anyone else found this odd, but even more so, I would like to know if anyone had an Idea of why this line up was in. I am not super knowledgeable in basketball, and I think it would help me if somebody could explain what Nate was thinking here. I could see Bayless in there to drive the lane, even if Roy was handling the ball. But why was Blake in there? Anyway, I would like hear an explanation of this line up, or any other ideas about it.
