Blazer's Edge How fate finally stepped in for me

For years now it has been a dream of mine to be able to see the Blazers play in Orlando and Miami. Why these places you ask? Well I have an aunt that lives in Florida and I thought it would be a blast to be able to go to Florida for a vacation and to go to both games while I was there since they typically play these games back to back.

The hard part for me has always been not knowing what the schedule will be until this time of year. I am usually out of vacation by the time they do play in Florida and it is too late to try to plan a trip. I have always hoped that they play in the beginning of the new year so I have a fresh batch of vacation time but it hasn’t ever worked out for me.

Well my friends, FATE has finally stepped in. Yesterday I got a call from my aunt asking me to house-sit for her when she goes on vacation. And when is she going to be gone?

December 14 through December 21. Which means I will be in Florida when the Blazers take on Orlando and Miami on Dec 19 and Dec 20.

Oh man, what a glorious day for me. I am so excited to finally be able to go see my guys play in another city. Now, if only I can somehow meet the team while I am down there watching the games (hopefully behind the Blazers bench).

Blazer's Edge Junk Drawer 06/24/09- Dreaming Edition

Last night I had this dream that I was playing video poker and won $120,000 (playing nickels I might add). It was awesome. I was going to be able to pay off my debts, put down a ton of money on a home and buy a new car. Then of course, I woke up and realized that I am still in debt and not anywhere close to being able to buy a house or new car…it was quite the disappointment.

So I ask you Bedgers, what is the most realistic dream that you have ever had? Were you disappointed to wake up and realize that it was all a fake? Or did you wake up relieved for the life you do have? Or maybe just enlighten us with the weirdest dream you have ever had so we can attempt to analyze it (I have some crazy weird dreams).

Happy Wednesday ya’ll

It's a quick read, but looks like Jack is keeping them happy over in Indy. Spread some love on their site if you head over there. The blog writer is great but doesn't have much of a fan base :)

Indy Cornrows Hello from Blazers Land!

Hello Cornrows Bloggers...

My name is twiggs, and I am officially a Blazer's Edger. We all like to visit other SBN sites and catch up on news across the league.

I want to know with the season just around the corner, what are your expectations for the Pacers this season? Do you feel that you are playoff bound? How many wins are you expecting out of your team?

I am also curious about player movements. What are your thoughts of Jarrett Jack thusfar (since he is a former Blazer, inquiring minds want to know). What are your feelings about Brandon Rush? Are you glad that the trade happened with the Blazers, or were you set on having Bayless on your team?

I hope we can all converse this season about our teams, especially when we are set to play each other. After review of the schedule, looks like we aren't set to play until March, so I'm sure we will all talk prior to then!

Good luck this season!

Blazer's Edge Junk Drawer 10/16/08- Per TiH Request

Hi guys. So I was going to create a fanpost about the first home game pre-funk and TiH suggested I just create the junk drawer and "kill two birds with one stone". So anywho, here goes.

The poll was close. It actually came to a tie between Buffalo Wild Wings and the option that hated all of my ideas with people suggesting places to go. Since we could not come to a consensus, I have decided to "take the bull by the horns" and choose neither Buffalo Wild Wings OR people's suggestions! How nice of me. Sorry, I think that everyone had great ideas, but we couldn't decide. So, I say those who want to show up will show up no matter where we go. Am I right? Let's test it.

We WILL meet up at McFadden's at 5:00 p.m. We will have drinks prior to this time at Ash Street Saloon ($1 PBR) for those that want to go earlier. If you want to email me and get my phone number to call if you are lost or want to meet up earlier and want to make sure somewhere is there, email me (see my profile) and I will give it to ya. So, sorry to those who voted otherwise (majority did not win in this case).

By the way, where did the terms "kill two birds with one stone" and "take the bull by the horns" come from anyways?
