As you all know, most Rockets fans in Texas can't watch the Rockets because they don't have Comcast. I know it might not seem like a lot, but it's something from the fans. Sick of seeing the IwantCSNHouston stuff, hopefully this petition will take off. So if you can take a minute or two to sign it, that would be wonderful. It's quick and easy. Thanks

I know the Finals are still going on, but I'm dying to hear all of the juicy off-season rumors. Will the Rockets trade up in the draft? Who are they interested in? What kind of roster moves will they make in free agency? Is Dragic going to stay in Houston? So many more questions that need answering. He-Man and I want to know, What's Going On???

There's a lot of complaining by sports fans in general, so this place is no different. We all speculate who needs to be traded, what sort of changes need to be made, discuss the questionable playing time for players...I could go on and on about the things we're all concerned with as fans.

I was watching the game Wednesday night against the Thunder, hoping Durant wasn't going to make a shot to win the game or send it into overtime. (I actually had a hunch he wasn't going to make it, he had a last second shot last season in Toyota Center that he missed. I was at that game, it was a wonderful win) That win on Wednesday night was very similar to the one I witnessed first hand about a year ago. It was the feeling of pure joy. Both times I jumped (not very high, I've got no athletic ability) up and yelled so loud I started to get a sore throat. Slapping high fives with people around me and in a state of disbelief.

So it's about 1:36 am right now and I felt I needed to get this off my chest, I'm proud of my team. So happy about the surprise the season has turned out to be so far. Happy for the players, our new coaches, and the other fans like me who love watching the Rockets win. None of the "we should trade Scola before the deadline" talk, none of my disses towards Martin or any other players I've had some things to say about. I just wanted to note how awesome it feels to get a win like that and not care about any kind of rhetoric about how to make the team better, even if it's short lived. It's fun to win!

Survivor has been on television since the early 1970s, at least it seems that way. D list celebrities from the 80's and 90's have their own tv shows. I hear there's a new show about baseball wives that involves a threat made with a dildo. Story lines might be conjured up but it's still reality. As the horrible saying goes, it is what it is.

The Rockets have their own reality show that will air 66 times as part of the shortened season we are in. There are many more questions around this team than answers, especially the direction of the franchise going forward. Will Luis Scola continue his steady play or will we see his skills diminish? Can Kyle Lowry keep up his 3 point shooting? Will Terrence Williams finally make it into an episode as a main attraction? Still plenty of questions about the young players and how it will all play out. There's a new coaching staff in town, will the gameplan be similar to years past?

Like every season, this season will be fun to watch. Nothing like before the start of a season where you have the hope of being a good team and making the fans proud by winning in the playoffs. While the season is finally approaching us, so is a harsh reality. The Houston Rockets aren't going to win a championship any time soon. I'm not just talking about this season, I'm talking about the 4 seasons after that. Maybe further down the road as well. Maybe that hasn't has set in for some fans, but I get the feeling some fans think they're close. I hate myself for thinking this way, because I love the organization. Yao Ming is one of my heroes. He's right up there with Eddie Vedder, McNulty from The Wire, and Conrad Murray in my book. The reason they won't win is a simple fact, they don't have the players.

We all know the names of the players that will always give their team a legit shot at a title. The Rockets don't have any of those players. They don't even have the pieces you need to put around great players, although you could argue for Martin or Scola. With the salary cap still in place, those players probably wouldn't be here if we ended up getting on of those "stars". Dwight Howard wants out of Orlando, while Chris Paul wants to leave Bourbon Street. Another reality, they aren't coming to Houston. You can work out any trade scenario you want, not happening. Houston is like a lot of other places, players will only want to come here when they know there's a real chance at a championship. (and a lot of money coming their way)

There are a lot of young and talented stars in the league right now. Soon enough you'll be able to count them all on a handful of teams as they join their buddies in big market cities. So what can the Rockets do while there's no opportunity to win at the moment? Rebuild. I don't mean cutting Thabeet and signing Nene, that's not enough tearing down to rebuild. Nene will continue the middle of the pack ways this franchise has been in for a long time. So if those stuck up superstars won't come to Houston, go get the next one coming through the draft. Find the Yao Ming that other great players would kill to play with. Search for your own superstar that will turn the franchise around for the next decade and beyond. Don't fall into thinking that we'll make that big trade, or that unrestricted superstar is going to come in and save the day. Those thoughts take you from dreams to reality, 9th seed in the West.

(If you finished reading this, I thank you. I'm not a writer and I know this is terrible. Debunk my basketball thoughts all you want in the comments.)

Adrian Wojnarowski on twitter: "Rockets' Yao Ming has decided to retire from the NBA, league sources tell Y! Sports. He informed the league office within past 48 hours. Yao hasn't been able to recover fully from numerous operations. He is one of the seminal figures in globalization of the NBA and basketball."

I usually don't like writing a lot about topics, I usually just comment and listen to what others have to say. This time feels different. Yao Ming is the reason I became a fan of the Rockets. I was too young to get into the championship teams from the 90s, and I didn't really start watching a lot of basketball until the last few Jordan years. Yao Ming seemed bigger than life to me. He was going to turn our franchise around, a guy you could build a team around. He was more than that though. Not only was he one of the most talented, fearless basketball players I had ever seen...but Yao Ming seemed to be a different kind of person. Never saying "look at me", and was always a team player. Even though everyone wanted a piece of this guy, it never seemed to bother him. Yao Ming is the definition of a role model. No matter how many times he fell, he worked harder than everybody else to get back up. While a part of me is happy for this team to move on, I'm more sad that he'll never play again. I'll never get to watch his tremendous ability. He'll never get to hold up that trophy. Most people will remember him for his injuries, but I'll remember him for his dominance and determination. So I'd like to say thanks to Yao Ming, for everything he did for this franchise. I hope that he can finally take it easy and be healthy for his wife and family. If anyone deserves a great life after his career, it's the Great Wall.

"Rockets are very, very active right now. Virtually everyone on the team is for sale for the right price ... I've heard Yao, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Battier all mentioned. Rockets want/need a star right now and are willing to package players together to get it. Problem is their talent level is solid, but overpaid. Martin and Scola are good, but few teams want those contracts. Yao is solid as an expiring contract, but there are tons of those floating around. If you believe Yao will come back, could be some value there, but he's an unrestricted free agent this summer."
