Hello fellow Chronocloids-figured I’d type something up being that I’ve got a rare opportunity to do so. Here’s some thoughts or perhaps what can be considered as a diary of how the season has been for this Card fan.
What a roller coaster ride this season has been thus far, eh? I think this has been one of the most chaotic seasons I can remember. We start 12-0 and things are looking marvelous, then the wheels start to fall off. SVT with the mysterious knee injury, Rak goes down with yet another ACL injury, Marra suffers the same. Team suffers from inner turmoil, harsh things are said about the boys by some on the internet, and some players take to heart. Team meeting is called by the players and all the sudden they’re looking like they have “it” again. Then wait…maybe not.

Final Game @ the Hall

Ive thought about all the games Ive attended over the years and cant help but think its gonna be hard saying goodbye to FH. Lots of good (and bad) memories in that place. Ive only been attending games since '93, but boy Ive seen some good ones. Add to that Smith, Delk and Sosa's senior day...should be bittersweet.
Memorables for me:
Cards down UK in '95 behind Samaki Walkers historic triple double performance (one of which came in BLOCKS!!)
The first ever time I attended a Memphis St/Cards game and being so amazed one team could elicit more boos from the crowd than UK...haha
The Marquette game where Ellis fawked his knee up and Crean said he was faking it to get out of shooting FT's
The Wake Forest game where Tim Duncan came in and with an almost single handed effort spanked the Cards.
Last years #1 Pitt Game, the white out Georgetown game, the Cincy games back in Huggys days. The list could go on and on...
Just about any game watching (in no order) Maybin, Wheat, Gaines, Garcia, Dean, Morton, Minor, Rodgers, BJ "king of the flop" Flynn, Simms (Dr Dunkenstein II), TWill, Earl, Eric Johnson (something like a 48" vert!!), Nate Johnson (Batman!) Kaiser, and soo many others.
Louisville basketball for me is the founder of my love for college ball, and it all started in Freedom Hall...
How bout you guys? Any great memories? Bad ones?

New NCAA rules
So-the NCAA will roll out 3 new rules for the 09-10 basketball season. The first two are great, the third...not so much.
"So now we have new rules. Three, in fact. The first: Referees can now look at instant replay to determine flagrant fouls and ejections. Good rule. The second: When a free throw shooter is injured, the opposing coach must now select one of the team's players from the four on court. (Previously, the team's own coach could sub in anyone he wanted.) Another good rule.
The third? Bad rule:
Secondary defenders must establish position outside the area between the backboard and the front of the rim to draw a charge call."

So, apparently Jeremy Tyler-the big stud that was supposed to be coming here for the 10-11 season-has decided to forgo his SENIOR year of high school and head overseas. You have got to be kidding me! Why would anyone not want to finish high school?

Give me a friggn break..
OK...so we are TWO plus hours removed from the Cards winning what is undeniably the best conference in the nation...twice, and what does the "worldwide leader in sports" have on their front page? "UNC loses" as the headline, with "UNC loses" and "Michigan St loses" as the sideline headlines...Even Memphis St gets love on the sideline headlines...ZERO mention of Louisville, the only team to win the outright title of all the power conferences....(we do get a Big East tournament tab underneath..but its vague as to what it alludes to)
Im sorry, but this is getting kind of old...really old.

Anyone catch Hunter earlier on ESPN in the College All Star Challenge? I thought he looked pretty darn good. Tied for 2nd in the accuracy contest. Also-he almost won the individual footwork drill-taking second place by a mere .07 of a second. He only managed 65 yards for the long throw contest-but that was enough for second as well. I thought his windup looked a lot better -and much quicker. The commentators seemed to like his chances as a pro. What do you guys think?
